S45.E11: Adam Driver/Halsey

Watching the next couple of shows after this one, I can appreciate how great Adam is as host even more.  He makes it look easy, but obviously a host of his caliber is very hard to find.

I caught this on rerun tonight; if I'd known it was *this* rerun, I would have made sure to catch all of it. As it was, I noticed that in her WU "White Male Rage songs" bit, Melissa looked better than about half the women I saw at the Academy Awards. Her dress and hair (especially her hair) were so nice.

Some great zingers in the cold open. It’s nice to get away from Trump on the screen. 

I FF’d through both the girls and the sanitary pad and the Del Taco skits because repetition in skits annoys me. Keep it moving, I don’t laugh at people saying the same thing over and over. 

Undercover Boss was fun. Though I laughed at Randy like I do Kylo Ren.

Halsey did a nice job. Not sure her music is my thing but I appreciate her artistry.

”Practicing Removing crazy dictators around the world for 100 years.” Wow. That was good.

Aidy’s 7th grader seemed oddly low key.

I wish everyone would just ignore Mr Peanut and the agency who is patting itself on the back for all the free publicity.

The cheer skit was as annoying as the actual “sport.” Though putting “prayer on it” was funny.

And the ketchup bottle skit was a nod toward past SNL skits that were goofy and poignant and fun at the same time. Liked it.

       I Think they made Adam Driver Intense because I thought he was maybe Intense in Star Wars ! I only saw the First Star Wars Movie ! How Ever, Adam Driver was also in A Movie Called Marriage Story and he was very Intense in that Movie ! I did not see that Movie, but He Probably Beat Up His Wife Who was Played by Scarlet Johansson ! By The way, She was in another Movie this Year also and She is Involved with Colin Joist ! ! I thought They did A Good Job with the Ketchup Sketch because I thought Adam Driver was Perfect as Ketchup and Cecily Was More Elegant So she Should be Catsup ! ! I thought it was good to make Kyle be Spicy And I LOVED The Puns Like I have Something that I Don't RELISH Telling you And The Packet Was A Baby ! I even Liked The other Bottles OF Ketchup Leaving The Diner !

I enjoyed the episode, aside from one or two sketches. Even those weren't bad, just not that great to me (Medieval Times and Cheer). Adam Driver was a wonderful host who elevated all the sketches he was in, and the night had a good, consistent energy. My favorite sketches of the night were the "I'm all outta cash" sketch (so annoying but hilarious) and the ketchup bottles. I also appreciated that they tried to use more of the cast. That's the direction I think they need to keep going in as some of their heavy hitters are probably on the way out. 

              All Those Sketches were used in Other Saturday Night Live Shows ! I Think OR I Have Always Thought That Mikey is William And Alex is Harry ! !

Anyone else think the writers were pulling a Stefon with Colin during Melissa’s WU segment? He seemed genuinely bemused at the jokes at his expense, which were quite good (watching Joker every morning while he works out, and The Irishman by himself on Christmas).

The Cheer skit wasn’t great, but I’m a sucker for the musical guest showing up in LIVE sketches (which seems rare these days, although Halsey hosted last season). Also, I give Bowen Yang a gay salute for playing a part that required him to be carried by a beautiful male model. Y’know, for comedy.

      Halsey was in The SLOW Sketch And NOT The Cheer Sketch !

Usually I think Chris is better in the pre-tapes, but he was perfect here. 

One of the pleasant surprises of last night's episode was for once I thought they got a lot of the endings right. 

         I Think you are Mistaken OR Got Them Mixed Up was I Remember Beck Telling Chloe that they don't need her OR won't Be Using Her and She said Thanks for the Memory ! Also, Aidy DID Say I was going to say Here is Some Mayonnaise Because I Thought about how Mayonnaise IS A Condiment ! !

For some reason my DVR only recorded the last hour, so I missed the opening and monologue. I watched them both online and I’m so glad I did. The cold opening was absolutely SAVAGE and Driver’s monologue was hysterical. He has great comedic timing. In my book, he is welcome to come back to SNL anytime. 

       Adam Driver Has Hosted Saturday Night Live A Few Times ! One Time, Adam Driver Came in A Class Room To Speak To The Children And He Was Very Aggressive I Think To Pete Davidson ! While He was Talking, He Put His Walking Stick on A Bird And Killed The Bird ! You Need To See That Sketch Because IT Doesn't Sound Like IT, But IT Was Very Funny ! This Was I Think Last Season Which Would Be 2018 ! I Could Be Wrong About When That Was ! Ask Some Body or Try To Google That !

         YES, That Is Him ! I Might be Wrong ,But I Think He was The Person That Was Giving John Belushi English Lessons ! Then, He Had A Heart Attack And John Belushi Acted Like He Had A Heart Attack ! Chevy Said Live from New York, IT'S  Saturday Night ! That WAS The First Sketch That Was Ever On Saturday Night Live !

Halsey was in both sketches. In the cheer sketch, she was the one who was stuck in the wall and came into the room later.
