Small Talk: Everything's On the Menu

I think I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m once again reminded of just how destructive morbid obesity can be.  Lately, I’ve seen some old friends and extended family members and it’s beyond concerning.  There’s nothing I can do about it….but they are young people….who have access to Ozempic and/or bariatric surgery.  I just can’t understand it.  
 

I recall the days the Slantons  were far heavier.  It does seem to run in families.  With my family, the parents are average size snd the children are the ones who are obese.

They'll have to pay me to watch these 2 inside the Episode episodes.

Yes. I know people like this. The mom, who is 60-ish and her 40 y.o. son are both extremely obese. They have full coverage health insurance for permanent disability due to diabetes. Neither one is interested in Ozempic or losing weight. Thanksgiving dinner was honey baked ham, pumpkin pie etc. 

I guess the food addiction is greater than the desire to be healthy. But they're really nice, kind people, just very codependent.

What stands out to me is the addiction to fast food.  It’s a staple in the diet.  I see them eat 2-3 times a day from a fast food bag. AND they think it's a good thing!  Serve their kids the same way!  They weigh over 300 pounds!  I’m not sure there’s any help for people like this.  By age 40, they’ll likely be dead or disabled.   With all the information about health, how can they stay so clueless?  And, they claim their bloodwork is good!  Hard to believe.

I really want someone to spill what caused the London trip to end early.

Did the trip really end early?  Or was it all for a week of filming, and nothing more?      

Is there any confirmation that they were going for more than the week to film?

I think it ended early, because it was a pretty boring trip, and mostly because of the crappy episodes made up of scraps of Amy and Tammy just messing around that were aired.
I hope someone spills what happened, maybe the taxi driver.
