  1. Wow, Colorful. I was on this borderline obsessive quest to find it anywhere a while back, then I got busy and forgot about it until now. I'm so glad you mentioned it, weyrbunny. I'll have to see if I can find it now.
  2. ...then it's gone: http://toonami.tumblr.com/post/98164760488/good-news-bad-news-batman-fans along with Symbiotic Titan. Also, Toonami tumblr Q&A this Sunday at 11:30AM to ~1PM.
  3. What a great episode. I’ve said before that sometimes this show feels like it is moving at a snail’s pace, but this was not one of those times. I love the show and I’m in it for the long haul, but I have been enjoying things much more now that we’re focused on the Scouts. I agree that it is interesting that they aren’t trying to hide who the Female Titan is. I was shaking my head last week, when Armin, after staring right in her face, wondered who she could be. I wonder if there will be any repercussions from Jean’s outburst. He was probably saying what everyone else was thinking, and I get that he was frustrated and full of adrenaline, but way to take things too far. Maybe all those comments about being leader material have gone to his head. Female Titan certainly is enjoying herself. It's interesting to see what she decides to react to and how. Dropkicking the guy and his horse? I laughed because it was so unexpected. I should have known better than to expect her to stomp them. Team Levi’s increasingly shrill requests for orders were chilling. Can’t wait for next week.
  4. Thank you, Sandman87. I appreciate your comments. I was on the fence, but it sounds like it will be a fun ride.
  5. Recommended?
  6. You're totally right! Thanks for the correction.
  7. Ahh there is a Toonami forum! I should really make better use of the search feature... I'm not always a fan of big robot shows, so I'm very new to TTGL (I started it when it showed up on Hulu/NeonAlley) and it's everything Sandman87 said and more. Also it looks fabulous. A Tom mention of Leeroy? Seconded! edited @ 9pm because my spelling and grammar are horrible when I'm stealth posting instead of working.
  8. I thought that was a little weird too. Anxious to see how it plays out though and what the scouts are like in action. Forgot about the marathon....it's not unwelcome though.
  9. Nay--no question for me. I find Sai's bare midriff more off-putting than his fake smile or his lack of a filter. So...odd. I guess you're supposed to hate the character, but he's too much like someone I know, so I can't. I always thought that the coolest thing about the ANBU were their teleportation skills. Poor Yamato, indeed, though I'm not sure how you prepare someone for dealings with Naruto. He really must be seen to be believed. In other news, Shizune what the hell were you thinking? I hate Danzo and those village elder creeps....weird that they all had the same plan in mind.
  10. I agree, Sandman87. We're missing out on some good stuff. I suppose anything is possible later? Maybe. Hopefully. You're welcome! I would love more Naruto and more variety. We need a Kickstarter campaign!
  11. PrincessEnnui, there's an explanation in their tumblr faq: (http://toonami.tumblr.com/faq)...which basically says that they're not "sure if makes sense to get later Naruto episodes since they plan to show all of Shippuden." In one of their past tumblr bi-monthly Q&A's, the Toonami guys said that given the option to buy more Naruto episodes or buy a bunch of Shippuden episodes and they went with Shippuden, so yeah they only have the first two seasons. I'll edit this post later with the link once I find that month's Q&A, unless someone else finds a better answer. 8/14/14: Edited to add links to Toonami Tumblr Q&A's. It's slightly different from what i remembered. December Q&A: http://toonami.tumblr.com/post/71643409182/why-are-you-starting-all-over-with-naruto February 2014: http://toonami.tumblr.com/post/77596448351/why-did-you-guys-start-over-naruto-and-how-long-will.
  12. I'm not a Julie Bowen fan and usually find her completely unwatchable, but I thought she was ok and kinda funny...then she actually said "geisha hooker." Wow. Please disappear. I loved Char's outfit on the runway, but was very skeptical before that. Amanda's was well done. I didn't mind Sandhya's but there was a lot going on. She's true to her vision and kinda fearless, which I respect, but I don't get giving her the win. I feel like the stories behind her designs will always be more interesting than the designs themselves. Mitchell stays? Does not compute! -edited to correct Sandhya's name.
  13. I think Pixis might be my new favorite character, controversy notwithstanding. To be honest, I've liked him ever since he filled his flask with that noble's presumably expensive booze and left him sniveling in his wake. I love an eccentric, especially if they are a charismatic badass with a silver flask to boot. Pixis's speech was riveting, unlike the shrill speeches from last week. I felt like there was more going on, less talk about doing things, though there was some of that. Though I like her, I laughed when ErenTitan 1.0 went for Mikasa. It was both unexpected and not. Unexpected, because apparently like many of the characters I wasn't really thinking that he'd attack. Damn that Pixis, making believe in the impossible. Expected because she was being hella naggy and annoying. Hopefully, she now knows not to piss him off before goes full on Titan mode. Yes, I totally yelled at the annoying blonde twit to shut the hell up. He's not some green cadet, lady. Geez.
  14. I wholeheartedly agree that this was a talky episode. All the action and intensity of the previous episodes slammed into a not-so-illuminating wall of talk. I liked the moments about Eren’s dad. Speaking of which….I know we are building to a big reveal re: Eren’s dad and the cellar, but it is still a little jarring to me whenever he’s mentioned. It usually takes me a moment before I realize that we’re seeing different moments of the same flashback. At least that’s what I think is going on. So far, I like that they give us a little more information about their conversation each time and it doesn’t feel overly drawn out to me yet. It’s hilarious to me that Eren has the same questions about his dad: Where are you? What’s with all the secrecy? Could you have stopped all this? Are you insane? (Probably..) I look forward to finding how it all plays out and what Levi and Co. will bring to the story.
  15. It saddens me that there is no joy or fun in—or in watching—this show anymore. It seems like a millennia ago that this was one of my favorite TV shows and I was annoying my sister with how good it was. I don't recognize the show, much less the characters anymore. I’m still going to watch for now, because there are still the occasional small moments that remind me of what it once was. I loved Donna taking up for Louis and what the writers are doing with their budding friendship. Last week’s scene where she gave him her photo was one of my favorites of all time. I don’t know if it will lead to romance and I don’t really care, but I hope they keep bringing us more of the two of them together. I don’t really care about anyone else either. I wish it wasn’t only the females who seemed to appreciate Louis. I don’t include Jessica in this group, because I feel that he is more of an amusement to her except when he’s the only one who can save her firm.
  16. Lantern7, I was more of a lurker on TWOP, but your Chunin Exam recap/fan fiction was hilarious. There was so much that I enjoyed about Naruto. So many great, fun, silly and touching moments. Off the top of my head: #101 where they try to get Kakashi to remove his mask. It's really silly, but I love it unapologetically. Haku and Zabuza, Orochomaru vs. the Third, Anko's memories of Orochimaru, Kimimaro v. Rock Lee and Gaara, Naruto and Tsunade's face-offs in the street, the Chunin Exams, the Sannin battle, anything with Orochimaru, Itachi and Jiraiya. I miss it. I'm also bummed that Toonami restarted everything just when it was about to get really good.
  17. Well played, Sakura! I was so proud of her, though a little surprised that it took her so long to remember her training. I would have thought that sparring and getting your ass handed to you by Granny Tsunade would be memorable. I certainly will not forget the image of her leg bearing down on young Sakura from above, anytime soon.
  18. Mikasa's badass, but kind of a jerk. I get that she had to work through her emotions, but I found her display of bravado to be a bit much, especially since she crumbled like two minutes later. On the one hand, I can understand that she's upset: her best friend/brother figure (love interest?) is very likely dead, but it bugs that the female top cadet's only reason for living is a guy way more into killing Titans (or killing in general--see last week) than her. It was temporary, but I was still rolling my eyes. She redeemed herself a lot in my eyes when she wouldn't leave Armin. Despite his being shell-shocked for a good bit of the time, I have a soft spot for him. Give him a sense of purpose, more confidence and I believe he can step up. He's already starting to. Thanks for pointing this out about Sasha, PrincessEnnui. I felt like they really wanted us to write her off after the potato, fart and meat scenes, but she didn't waver. She tried to be a leader when the supposed leaders were still getting their heads together. She's less a joke character and more a "one to watch" for me now. Whatever his fate, I'm enjoying these moments without Eren around, because they're giving me the opportunity to notice and appreciate other characters. Really interesting comments about WWI, lathspel. I'll have to read more about this. As for AOT, I also found their moments of shell-shock believable. So many of them had never even seen Titans before that day. Considering this and the suddenness of the attack it could have gone a lot worse. Where were the commanders? Were squads of barely graduated cadets literally left to fend for themselves? Did I miss something?
  19. I'm glad the show is back, but I need a re-watch. There were a lot of threads to follow in this episode and I think I was too tired to follow them all. I liked: Jessica getting some "morning meetings" finally. Every moment between Katrina and Louis. The blue of Donna's dress. The color was gorgeous. I didn't like the actual dress. I'm not sure how I feel about Mike the investment banker, yet. Jonathan, I liked your hair better before. Also, Louis, stop listening to Harvey, please. He's not as cool as he thinks he is.
  20. I'm probably misremembering--it's been many, many months since I watched the sub of this arc, but It seems like they've already cut some parts of this battle. I remember it feeling like it took three episodes for Sasori to emerge from Hiruko and the rest of the battle went on for at least another ten episodes. But I'm prone to hyperbole and wishful thinking so that's probably where this is coming from.At the very least, I know I was completely bored with the whole thing by the time it ended. Two puppetmasters thinking at each other and Sakura do not compelling television make. Despite the time devoted to his backstory, I'm not that invested in Sasori. Am I supposed to feel sorry for him or think he's kinda badass. I'm confused. He's definitely creepy as hell.
  21. This thread title is from one of my favorite scenes and a pretty spot-on quote about Naruto. More to the point though, I also find it hard to root against the kid, even when he does something really annoying (like fall for Deidara’s obvious bait to use a recent example from the Toonami run). I'm not sure that he's always the most interesting character on his show, but I will always have a fondness for him because of his determination, boundless energy and fearlessness.
