  1. So Hulu suggested it and I'm watching. I see the trend of hot priests continues lol I swear, growing up and being a hormonal catholic teenager... there should be a law against gorgeous charismatic men becoming priests lol I wonder what happened in Chicago to make it acquire two or three more stars. LOL I know that when it was bidding for Olympics, the talk was that if it happens the star will be added to the flag.
  2. I don't think Eve was dumb. She was naive. She was the first woman, second human being on Earth. Humankind has evolved since. She is that impressionable kind fun loving person she was in the garden of Eden. She was created to love asnd be loved, and that's exactly what she did, in a basic, naive and, i guess, most primitive way. The way kids love.
  3. As long as my initial reaction on 90% of them isn't "who?" I'm game. Still hoping for Hilary Knight.
  4. Oh yes, I was expecting Niel's voice. Hopefully there's a season 5 and he is asked to help out again 🙂
  5. Last year Germany was my #1 actually. I was hoping they would look at what worked and do well a again... no such luck lol My fav German entry though is Roger Cicero (RIP). Last time they sang in German. Last time Spain was in my top was 2010 with Algo pequenito (I also liked Pastora and Dancing in the rain) Didn't really like Amir's song, but loved Alma in 2017. I do like when France does stuff like L'amour à la française or Moustache. Those were fun. The only UK song I remember liking (and I'm ashamed of it bit lol) was Still in love with you
  6. I also wanted to add that the scene when Lucifer goes full on King of Hell and yells at his minions... First time ever I was legit scared of him. No wonder those demons just scattered the hell out of there.
  7. https://eurovision.tv/story/ebu-issues-statement-on-eurovision-2019-grand-final-result They mistakenly used the bottom 10 of the aggregate results. So now Belarus is not 2nd to last (it's 3rd to last lol) Sweden is 5th Norway was knocked down to 6th. Top 4 is unchanged. I think that makes N Macedonia a jury winner...
  8. Basically Italy: great job. Everyone else: get your shit together. UK: are you even trying?
  9. Origo was awesome. I do like Hungary's approach. Just when Balkans stopped doing their thing and started copying the West, Hungary decided to go the route of "we'll be sending what we like, if you like it, awesome, if you don't, ah well... maybe next year you'll like what we like" I like Georgia for the same reason. They don't give a shit. And, actually, 2nd year in a row their live performance completely changed my mind about the entry. Last year I got goosebumps hearing those harmonies live. I genuinely started pulling for them. This year there were two songs that I turned off after 30 seconds: Iceland and Georgia. But the staging and the energy from Oto made me change my mind. I was really sad when they didn't qualify.
  10. same here. I keep wanting to see the friendship between him and Harry develop, but then I catch myself that I just wanna see Cavill and JRM be bro's and have fun lol
  11. I'd love something in Welsh, or Gaelic or... anything other than a boring basic vanilla stuff. This only works for Sweden (for some reason lol) Being one of big 5, and, I guess not caring whether they win, is such great opportunity to experiment. Neither Iceland nor Portugal were my cuppa this year, but I appreciated the balls both countries had to send something THAT different (in terms of the contest)
  12. Actually I've found that a lot of Eurovision regulars think that. It's not the level of disbelief of Crisalide not qualifying because it was San-Marino, but close. Honestly, I can kinda understand Finland and San-Marino not putting much effort into selections at times. It's like if Blackbird or Crisalide isn't enough for the finale, why bother... I can name a handful of countries who could have won with either song...
  13. Darude's beat and mixing was wasted on mediocre artist and song tbh. I liked what he brought into the entry. Sebastian.... well he's cute... I guess... (Blackbird was robbed)
  14. well, at least THIS f up wasn't Belarus' fault lol Being Belarusian I'm on the fence. We have a poor record (6 Q's out of 16 appearances), so any qualification is a win. (Russia and Ukraine aim for top 5, anything else is a flop, we are just happy to sing twice). Poland is at over 50% (14 out of 22). I'd be more at peace with it had it been at the expense of a more successful country. Petty? sure. lol but being a redheaded stepchild of ex-USSR is not easy lol
  15. I'm so confused by UK. So. Much. Good. Music. yet year after year the question is whether it'll be last or second to last place... I know, Engelbert Humperdinck, Bonnie Tyler, and Blue flopped, but has UK tried to send anyone who has charted in the world in the previous 3-5 years?
  16. Also Czech juror reversed her results by mistake and this effected the qualification. Poland would have gotten 10 from Czechia in the semi and advanced into the finale instead of Belarus. Something similar happened to two other jurors in two other countries, I believe from 2nd semi. What's the point of the jury if they can't: 1. keep their mouths shut, as dictated in the rules 2. read the instructions on HOW TO EFFIN VOTE?
  17. Spotify shows us the true winner. Soldi, soldi *clap clap* It's not even close! (keep in mind that there is no Spotify in ex-USSR countries and a lot of Balkan and ex-Yugoslavia)
  18. But the block voting exists in Balkan countries. In Germanic countries, in Scandinavia but its only wrong for some reason in ex Soviet ones. Juries still block vote. It solves nothing. It just highlights the problems that existed and will exist. At least people are paying to block-vote...
  19. I love the symbolism of an angel being over her left shoulder and demon - right. loving the take on the prophecy. will be watching finale next, but I already want season 5. make it happen, Netflix!
  20. Madonna sounded awful. Next to her Serhat was a MF Pavarotti. lol Netherlands wasn't my choice (it honestly wasn't in my top 10) but i guess it's an OK winner. We "survived" El & Nicki win, we "survived" Heroes win, we'll survive this. I'm glad Italy got so high. btw only 27 pts behind Arcade... so close. Maybe next year you won't f things up, Italy... (totally my fav country in the contest, but it frustrates me how bad they are with staging) The way juries were trying to make Sweden or N Macedonia happen was ugly. It baffles me. Jury was created to potentially offset diaspora vote and "bad taste" of the audience... When Soviet block countries give Russia 12 points everyone boo's, when Cyprus and Greece exchange 12 pts - everyone boo's, but when the whole Scandinavian peninsula and adjacent continent countries give 12 points to Swedish, though professionally made, generic song? it's fine. we all cheer. hey, he's got voice and quality production, right? Russia had voice too, high quality staging. Same generic song, just as Sweden. But... had the "wrong flag". At least N Macedonia on top of good voice had a relevant message... even if it was speculation on a popular topic. Netta hopped on "me too" train last year, Italy on "terrorism"... France on refugees... i guess all is fair in love and war... But i see how some people would connect to a song that is reflecting current social and/or political issues. Sweden... a love song. Russia... overcoming childhood fears... quite basic too. But it's ok to drag that flag up... and then watch audience pummel it down with 93 points. kinda hypocritical, if you ask me. I'm not sure how i feel about jury at all. It's a contest for the public. They are paying out of their own pocket to vote for their fav. If it's Norway, let it be so. How can 5 random (and in a lot of countries they ARE quite random) people suddenly represent the whole country at the same level as the public, literally millions of people. There's more manipulation and politics happening in jury voting than in public. If there is a GREAT song it will win regardless. If the songs are kinda ok and there are a handful of pretty much similarly good songs, where the top depends solely on your taste, let the public decide. Or make juries have less weight (say, 25%). I'm not sure about how well the contest will be done. I keep hearing that the stereotype is that Dutch ppl are even stingier and more pedantic with money than Germans... I guess we'll see. Belarus (my homecountry) jury got disqualified for essentially revealing their votes for semifinal, so the organizers selected bottom feeders for the points and threw a bone to home country: 12 points to Israel, so they don't go home with 0...
  21. Actually they Australia barely needs any time to prep. They are ready long before their time. Ladies climb up, secure themselves, and wait. They are being rolled out on stage in seconds. And then rolled off. Btw Kate climbs in a body suit. They later pass her the skirt on a wire. Spain takes forever with their house and mannequin.
  22. I agree. Italy is my sorrow. Ever since they came back they’ve been sending quality songs one after another. And they manage to f it up every single time. Well, Grande Amore was robbed, unforgivably sunk by judges. But everything else is on Italy. Soldi is still my top. As is Chameleon. And Sebi. But Statue of Liberty on a po-go stick FTW!!!
  23. It's gonna be a visual on how to do an OTT staging and how not to do it lol Australia is crazy, but crazy awesome. it looks effortless while it's anything but. Spain... well... they tried lol too much.
  24. My fav part about this was that Lucifer was indeed just a support. I was honestly expecting them to raise heaven and hell together, but Lucifer just went there to have his brother's back and let him deal out the dealer. #badpundetected lol
  25. Australia's performance was mindblowing. I want it to win now. that or let's just go full on WTF and crown Serhat LMAO ETA: it looks like there will be an American version of Eurovision. Target premiere is 2021.
