  1. Lagertha knew that if she let Auslaug go, she'd come back for the kingdom eventually, with her sons as part of the force. It was the best option and dealing with the sons was part of the deal. I also think Auslaug meant safe passage to the afterlife. I don't think Bjorn cares much who rules the kingdom, and I don't think he ever did. Could Auslaug have cared most about Ivar because she beleived he was touched or changed in some way by Habard?
  2. I agree with many that a lot of Season 6 was disjointed for Sansa. Her new talents barely came out, and her own reach was not fully exploited. I mean if she cared so much about saving their brother, why was there no rescue attempt arranged? I can understand her not saying anything about the Knights of the Vale because she had no proof that they were coming. Jon understood that since Littlefinger had given her to the Boltons, that she had no reason to trust him. She knew that his every move was always bolstered with some additional advantage to him more than concern for her. So while she mighth have said something, it may have been seen in her eyes as likely as the Manderlys of the show magically appearing after providing no answer, even after the houses had been close. If she was such a good diplomat, why didn't she take a hunch with Robbett and tell him, look, that was Roose that helped you, not Ramsey. You can't trust him because he's a nut. You heard about him flaying his own bannerman who were short on taxes. And then saying did the Starks ever do anything like that? She also understands that Jon directly fought for Winterfell and behaved valiantly if stupidly. The North will preciate actions and courage more than scheming and diplomacy, even if that scheming won the day. Now, if she really did want to be the Queen of the North, which I think she still will be if Jon ends up on the Iron Throne, or if he gives it up to her to fight the War for the Dawn, she had the option of running that meeting herself. All she had to do was stand and speak just like Lyanna Mornont did. All she had to do was say "When I arranged to take over Winterfell, I got, Jon, and the Wildlings, and House X, just flatter each one publicly, they all would have gone along, especially if Jon didn't fight it. He doesn't care too much about being Lord of Winterfell or King of anything, and she is the highest ranking lady until Jon marries, which could be fairly far down the road. It was never something he had any expectation to have, for any house at all either.. I don't buy that Jon was treating her like a little girl, but like someone who had been hurt and betrayed. He got that. He'd died from it.
  3. I have a theory on who Sansa contacted. It's not who we think. 1. He's at Moat Cailin with the Vale Army. 2. He's promosed to protect Sansa, 3. He knew Sansa was Sansa when she was in the Vale.
  4. It isn't that big a stretch to think that in these dark shelters that JOrah and Dario couldn't have spread some oil over the areas and just mixed it a little with the dirt. The Dothraki seem to wear shoes, so the notion of having thefuel already on the ground isn't that far-fetched. It's just a matter of using it.
  5. The Dothraki who were there had never seen anyone burn all their leaders before and come out alive. Much of their culture is based on following these Khals and tradition. I didn't think Emilia had a blanket statement on the nudity as much as I think she wanted any that WAS done to be important to the story. I think she was tired of being sexposition for no real reason.
  6. Yeah, I think Robert was obsessed with Lyanna. So I think if he let himself believe it, she'd be dead too.
  7. Well, what do you think Robert Baratheon would have done if he discovered that Lyanna had left intentionally and had married Rhaegar?
  8. I think I figured out a likely candidate for Arthur Dayne.
  9. Well, sticking to Season 5, Sansa did make relationships in the Vale, and tried to find a power spot with the Boltons, but she couldn't do it just yet. Ramsey's a tough customer. She DID get inroads though to put father against son, especially once Walda was with child. She just happened to split before that went anywhere. She did use the distraction of making him feel insecure though to get her corkscrew. So did she play? A little bit. I'd say this was a normal human amount of learning in an inhuman situation. She did succeed in manipulating Theon/Reek to get out and to discover that her brothers were alive. SHE did that. She also discovered through the old lady that there were people in the North who care about her and her family. Her ability to recruit help from the Northern Houses and possibly leverage the Vale Army to get Winterfell back is what we might be looking at for Season 6. Getting people to risk their lives and positions is the essence of politics in Westeros. She may well be on her way with what we see thus far.
  10. Their words should have been changed to "Ours is the Tantrum!"
  11. http://www.dailycrochet.com/free-pattern-adorable-fierce-little-dragon/ Really cute Drogon crochet pattern! (No, I don't crochet.)
  12. I hope no one minds me bringing my note from another thread. I just realized a possible explanation of Ellaria's change of heart. Trystane may be in danger in Kings Landing. That possibly puts Oberyn's bastards as next in line. She goes along, she's Queen Mum of Dorne.
  13. I just realized a possible explanation of Ellaria's change of heart.
  14. I kept hoping Selyse would jump in the fire with her.
  15. With that preview tonight, re Ep 10, I know they've telegraphed the idea, but it's starting to look like it might happen.
  16. I agree that no one under 18 should be allowed to make a perm commitment to the Night's Watch. I'd think once he'd recovered his senses from his grief, he might actually consider continuing his family. I thought several Brothers had been at the "battle" of the Fist, so there would be great awareness of the threat. It seems that they've dropped that issue for so long that no one remembers it but Jon and Sam.
  17. Yes, there's a new Sheriff/Sept in town. I wonder if any of the rest of our noble friends are ready for HIM!
  18. I would buy that except for the fact that no one is going to investigate a noble very closely. Much like Moat Cailin, they'd ask him yes or no and be on their way. That's how the Sept would normally do things. "Oh, a noble says X, OK, no problem." They won't ask him if he's afraid of Ramsey or if he's still a normal guy if he can fool them for 10 minutes. They need for the people of the house to think everything is normal. That means if she didn't bleed, they'd need proof on the dress/sheets in the morning. That's where the pet dog part would come in. He'd arrange that overnight as "proof" for the staff, then no one asks any more questions.
  19. I'm NOT acting. If Sansa was not a virgin, and no one was willing to say she was, guess what? Sansa needs a dead Tyrion in order to marry Ramsey. Theon HAD to be there. He was a noble from another house and YET he could be manipulated to say she was a virgin and therefore not married to Tyrion in case Sansa was lying. She had every reason to lie about it in order to win the protection of the Boltons. Reek would also be necessary to arrange the blood on her dress to fake her virginity in that case. It couldn't be Ramsey or people would talk. Reek doesn't talk to others really. That's why the bedding ceremonies would happen, to make sure the marriage was made real. He took advantage of the opportunity to make them off-balance with it, but that's about it. Of COURSE Sansa couldn't come to Winterfell to the killers of her family and play Pollyana. It would be too obvious she was up to something. All Littlefinger sold her was the idea that he probably wasn't as bad as Roose. Saying that seems ludicrous to me, and I'm surprised Sansa bought it, but LF was all she had really.
  20. I've already said that Ramsey is not a nice guy. Honestly, she got through her wedding night better than you had ANY reason to expect. He could have played a million ugly games with her, had Theon join in, beat her, cut her, etc. But nothing more happened than expected sex on her wedding night with a witness, that really, was required. She'd gotten enough at the table with him and having Theon say what he said to know how nutty he was. She didn't need Myranda to make it clear that she might be harmed by him eventually. And they're the Boltons for goodness sakes, not the Umbers. They live at the Dreadfort as well as taking over Winterfell, his Dad killed her brother, and married into the Frey's who killed her mother and imprisoned her uncle. The wife from that marriage sat across the table from her at dinner. And her childhood friend Theon was living as a blithering idiot, afraid of Ramsey, in the kennel. She had a goal, and that's why she didn't try to leave sooner.
  21. Yes and no. Could she have possibly snuck out the night before her wedding and put the candle up? I think she could have but chose not to. She probably could have "suggested" even that someone else put it up, and given some quasi-traditional reason for it. But she chose the path. She walked right into it.
  22. Can't it be about all in the scene, Sansa's painful quest to reclaim Winterfell AND Theon's re-awakening? And a step toward Ramsey's overplaying his hand, perhaps? WHY does this have to be about modern-day politics? Why does it have to be about men, or women, or Ramsey or Sansa,, or Theon? I already saw Sansa cry and her perspective as a roughly 15 year old girl being wedded and roughly bedded by a mean guy, from the beginning to the end of that scene, up until that last 10 seconds. HOW does that 10 seconds somehow own the scene when the other 6-7 minutes was playing out her point of view in many ways? Everyone would have been more upset if it had become graphic. And Sansa was not trained in how to seduce or appreciate sex. She wasn't even ready to answer questions as to why one of the prettiest and politically important young women in Westeros didn't consummate her previous marriage. As far as Ramsey could tell in his F*ed up brain, she consented, and told him things were to her satisfaction. Yes, she was hesitant, as any young bride would be. No, this was not a nice experience for her, but she also went into a den of vipers, as a wolf ready to undo the Bolton family. This wasn't going to be a walk in the park or a pleasant diplomatic mission.
  23. It's both in this particular case. The Sept would have to annul the marriage to Tyrion if it had been consummated and anyone knew. So, if they'd had a formal bedding ceremony and then she didn't bleed because her hymen was broken already, everyone would think she was married to Tyrion and then the new marriage would be invalid. On the other hand, if she bleeds into her dress, they have "proof" that Ramsey did the deed. Ramsey was probably looking out for that issue. other types of blood were not easy fakers in the olden days. People tried though. Otherwise, if she'd had an annulment, or she was widowed, no one would care.
  24. Catalyn and Robb both discussed beddings and Edmure actually had one. It's common enough to her family. A formal bedding COULDN'T have happened here because Roose and Ramsey weren't sure she was really a virgin. So no, I can't agree that it could just be arranged. Ramsey considers himself her lord, he doesn't seek to explain or defend his actions, even if he were a nice guy here, which he's not. And it's not like he and Sansa are friends, or that Ramsey actually knows what friends are. Either you're useful, fun and cooperative to him in some way, or you're not and no matter what, you're probably a target. She got off pretty well considering who she was dealing with and what was expected of her.
