  1. I personally would like to see him come back for this season. He'll obviously be busy for the fall season rehearsing for a January 2017 debut and then unless it's only a limited run, he'll be out next spring too.
  2. Tara Lipinski is like the perfect DWTS contestant. I'm surprised she hasn't done it yet.
  3. My point was more so that I like how the show introduced me to people I didn't really know of that I really became a fan of like the first few names and how the show also re-introduced me to people from years ago I had forgotten about like Kristi and the others, not heir general status as celebrities.
  4. SNL is a 1 week committment as opposed to DWTS potentially being 3 months and the other possibility of injuries. A listers won't do it for many reasons. One, they don't think 300K-ish is enough money for the 3 month committment and injury possibility. That and/or the fact that they legitimately can't fit in 6-8 hour dance rehearsals into their schedule for that length of time. There's also the ego thing of being voted off too soon, or being criticized by judges. I don't mind that it's not A or even B listers. I find the charm of the show is introducing me to people (i.e Sabrina Bryan, Katherine Jenkins, Zendaya, Melissa Rycroft) , or people i've forgotten about/nostalgia (Kristi Yamaguchi, Elizabeth Berkley, Mel B, Mya)
  5. I've been saying JoJo for years. She screams "good but smaller fanbase" so naturally she'd go to Mark. That seems to be his type the last 2 seasons.
  6. Joanna Garcia Swisher would be fun. I've always liked her as actress and she has ties to ABC, notably as Ariel on OUAT. Plus it's a great way to get her MLB husband, Nick Swisher in the audience. Speaking of which, why no MLB players? I know the seasons runs through both DWTS season but someone retired. Derek Jeter perhaps?
  7. It's hard for the female pros to choreograph something eye popping and fun, IMO unless you sell it well or have the technique of say Riker. Peta and Sharna have different styles. Peta won once, but I think that was mostly due to being in the finals with 2 foreign born, lesser known stars. Sharna has good choreo but often times it lacks creativity and being memorable and exciting. Mark and Derek succeed in this facet because our eyes naturally go to the woman when dancing and they know how to give a girl something that's exciting and appealing when they have someone with talent. I think thats why people like Kym and Cheryl got far a lot of seasons because they knew how to hide their partner's faults and put them in a good and exciting light. Look at how different Gilles came off when with Peta instead of Cheryl.
  8. Drew Lachey proved in All Stars that his win was merely for that it was the second season and that how the show evolved years after, he could only manage Week 3.
  9. Both 2015 DWTS winner are children of celebrities who we've known since they were kids. Funny little tidbit.
  10. Congrats to Bindi! She was effortless and beautiful all season. Always so mature beyond her years. She truly was a natural as someone who came in without a significant dance background and I really hope she capitalizes on this and gets some type of performing or acting gigs.
  11. I actually think Bindi had the best fusion. Alek's was rough and Nick's felt like it lacked enough Tango and didn't really feel like a fusion. Just a few bits of Tango, the wardrobe thing and then straight on to Salsa. The audience really erupted each time Bindi came on or was mentioned. I imagined her win wasn't all Derek. She won people over with her personality and ability to dance as a non-dancer. I honestly feel like it didn't matter who she was with. Her switch up dance with Val proved she could dance and wasn't just someone Derek placed from move to move.
  12. I think the iconic dance night goes down as my least favorite theme ever next to Season 12's America night. Both awful themes with dances that had about 5% content.
  13. I say do away with so many odd theme nights. Keep the memorable year, Latin night, team dances, but please never again with Iconic Dances night or TV theme week and the other ridiculous ones.
  14. TPTB loves playing with emotions. They do it every time there's a war vet or someone with a physical disability or both (Noah). I had chills watching Bindi's freestyle before Steve's picture. She just moves so effortless and with so much conviction. It's often overshadowed that she is a non-dancer going out there and performing how she is. Nick winning would be a disappointment because he's basically done all season the same type of music video/boy band style of movement and I haven't seen a real improvement, even getting in his head as recently as last week. All that said, 99% of all these polls and predictions have Bindi winning. I can't imagine a scenario where she loses. Nick's fans are more vocal on social media but so were Riker's and he didnt' win either. After all is said and done, if Bindi wins, she had a great journey and surprised us with her ability as a non-dancer.
  15. There's 2 more dances tomorrow. Both scored so I expect them to all get 30's unless they lowball Alek with 9's like they did last season with Noah.
  16. Consistency is more important to me and her dances will be the ones I remember after the season is done.
  17. I feel like Bindi's freestyle having no extra dancers or props will allow them to stand out from the pack. It took 71 calls to get in 5 phone votes for Bindi. That almost never happens.
  18. At least Bindi's freestyle showed that she's capable of actual real dancing and not just lifting or resorting to boy band moves you've been doing for 20 years and without the added distraction of backup dancers or props.
  19. Just like how we've now been reminded a thousand and one times about Nick being a Backstreet Boy? or Alek being an American Hero? Bindi isn't the only one we are being reminded of things.
  20. Sharna's good, but there's a reason she hasn't won yet, and to me, her choreography isn't on a Cheryl/Karina/Mark type of level. It's the truth. She tends to overdo it a lot of the times, not in the content per say, but in that she thinks it's better than it actually is. I like her, don't get me wrong, but saying her choreo is on the level of Derek and such is a bit outlandish, IMO.
  21. It might be unpopular but I think I'd be disappointed if Nick won. He's been very inconsistent and hasn't had a real standout dance. Jazz was only good for nostalgia, but not nearly the heights of the Carlton or Bindi's tribute to her dad and the baby week was too contrived to feel like a moment. I don't remember any winner really who was horribly inconsistent. Each winner may have had a dance or two that didn't work or fit them, but overall I would say even though I haven't agreed with every winner, I can see reasons for each winner.
  22. For what it's worth, I had 20 minutes of busy signals before i got in any votes for Bindi too.
  23. My mother after Carlos danced (a casual, non- social media type of DWTS fan): "Doesn't Carlos give off a douchey vibe or is that just me that feels that?"
  24. His Salsa seemed very "pop" dancing with a few Salsa basics through in there. I would've gone all 9's, but the show wanted to give him the "comeback" angle and also pimp spot scoring. He got the pimp spot last week and tonight. He better not get it next week too.
