  1. I almost forgot about the annoying cop because I fast forwarded all her scenes.
  2. I had gay friends in high school who were dating 25+ men the same way their were a few girls dating older men. And by college years they could look back on those relationships and realize they were wrong. It's like this show was trying to say those relationships are only wrong if the adult is old enough to be your parent. But even then they were trying to give Monique a free pass at the end it felt.
  3. I read the book series when it was first released and I'm in the middle of a reread. In the series in book 1 Bette, Gigi, and June were the leads and had equal parts. Book 2 was a little more uneven with Bette having a better story than the other two. But June and Bette were equally unlikable and devious. Also June had some hang ups about her half Korean identity which was a big part of the book especially since she had a rivalry with the other Asian girls. The show completely ignored any racism in ballet. Oren and Naveah have very little in common with Alec and Gigi. Dohnielle described these characters in the show as remixes but I prefer the original. Gigi was a sweet girl from San Francisco from a middle class family positive family background. Not some struggling girl from the hood. And she had extraordinary talent and was a real threat to the girls at the school. Also I wouldn't call that pairing OTP. They were together for a bit in the books but didn't even last. Alec was Bette's boyfriend but also Cassie's cousin and his father was the director of the conservatory. Shane replaced Will who was a side character. And imo Shane got better development than Naveah too even though I thought that shit with Oren was just for shock value and that scene in e2 was rapey. Also the relationship with Dev was inappropriate considering he's a grown ass man fucking a teen but folks aren't ready for that convo.
  4. I could write a new series just on the inconsistencies in this one
  5. Took me two days to finish and a lot of fast forwarding because the writing and acting was horrible! Too much drama thrown in just to be drama to the point where it all felt hallow.
  6. No one on this show is likable at all. Everyone has a moral compass until something could happen to them. And the hookups are so random.
  7. The pacing is horrible and there's too much sex in place of character writing
  8. Clunky dialogue and too much nudity for teen characters
  9. I still don't understand why they don't do mystery holiday movies on HMM when there are more than enough holiday stories from those cozy mysteries they love to adapt.
  10. I usually look forward to Up's offerings but not this year. Lifetime's offerings seem duller than dishwater this year too. And I checked out halfway during the last Hallmark one I watched. Brain power studios put Christmas with a Prince on Youtube this year
  11. It's been awhile since I've been to the It's a Wonderful Movie blog and I see they're still being racist and prejudice over there while claiming to align themselves with Christian values. You may have noticed that I did not include the Tuesday night Thanksgiving week premiere. As a believer in traditional marriage and Biblical values I will not be promoting "A Christmas Tree Grows in Colorado" since learning it's subplot will include a same sex couple. I wanted to be certain you all were aware of this as you are watching Christmas movies this week possibly with your families. https://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2020/11/happy-thanksgiving-week-counting-our-blessings-christmas-movies-hallmark.html
  12. I knew she was a latina from being familiar with her outside of Hallmark she just usually doesn't play those characters because of her look. So it was nice of them to incorporate that a little into this movie. I thought the leads had great chemistry so Jingle Bell Bride didn't feel like the many other Christmas movies where someone is stuck in a small town. Especially since I've seen a few about small town Alaska specifically recently.
  13. Wow a movie on Hallmark with a white latina and Black male leading couple. Just a few years ago didn't think that would be something to see on Hallmark.
  14. I liked Love by Accident. It moved very quickly but so do Harlequin novels and this was based off one. I thought the couple had good chemistry. Wasn't sure where they would go in the second half with the fake relationship being exposed earlier but they really dove into their childhood traumas.
  15. Hallmark did not need 3 channels. As is they don't do enough with Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. Why don't they do Christmas mysteries for one? During the holiday season it's basically an extra channel for the movies they can't squeeze in on the main channel.
  16. How many of those people are highly mixed? You and I both know those features are not the feature the majority of Black people you see have. Every time the issue is brought up about lack of casting dark skinned Black women someone light skinned wants to bring out the all shades argument instead of just acknowledging casting directors like to cast biracial women because they are closer to whiteness.
