I personally WANT this anime to have the more somber tone of the manga, with more focus on the romance and drama. While I loved the original anime, we already have one of those, so I'm happy to see the manga tone this time around.

Also watched the first episode (twice!) and also loved it. Loved how it mirrored the manga, and the extra little touch of Usagi having Princess dreams. Enjoyed the new looks of the secondary characters. Agreed that the music was wonderful. Loved the intro! Now I have to wait two weeks?! Sigh...

There was also that reference of all the guys except one going to a church during.... Desiree's season, maybe? (All the seasons blur together into this MegaSeason of Horror at this point) Which is another sign that the guys do get to do stuff that's just not shown.

From last episode's thread: After this episode, I'm thinking this theory is correct, except as a TV show instead of a novel. We're basically watching the show that the "real" Hank Moody made.

I don't know if they can really make Hank and Karen "endgame" on this show, because even if they end the series back together, wouldn't we just assume they'll break up again a few months down the road? Unless they end the series with a flash forward of them growing old together... which I don't think would work for this show at all. Are we supposed to see Becca this season at all? I really want to see her meet Levon.

One thing I loved in the DiC dub was the music; I bought the two soundtracks they put out and still listen to them occasionally to this day. The theme when the Senshi transform, the song when Usagi battles Queen Metallia, the song when Rubeus and the four sisters attack the senshi while Usagi protects Chibi-Usa... Rainy Day Man... Some great songs came out of that dub.

I agree with the Sailor Moon R movie love; in my opinion it's the best stand-alone piece in the whole series. I love the way the story progresses until the climax, the fight scenes were great, and every character has a moment to shine. Moon Revenge for the win indeed! My favourite moments of classic Sailor Moon: The Zoisite/Kunzite/Rainbow Crystals arc which culminate with the Serenity/Endymion reveals. The Final 2 episodes of the original series. Sailor Moon R movie. The Talismans reveal in Sailor Moon S with the return of Pluto and Uranus and Neptune's sacrifices. The first 6 episodes of Sailor Stars. I was pretty meh on SuperS (and totally agree the manga version was 100x better) because of the Chibi-Usa super sweet pinkness of it all, but when I rewatched a few years ago I really appreciated the animation, and the climax episodes were fairly good as well.

The topic name makes me laugh as it reminds me of one of the funniest line in the original DiC dub, to paraphrase: Luna: I never expected that Darien was Prince Darien all along!

While I can't speak for others, I know that I personally judged Andi a bit more harshly because it's the second time we see her go off on someone for telling her things she herself tells the guys. She tells Eric he doesn't open up to her enough, and when he turns it back on her, she becomes livid. She tells Juan Pablo he's dismissive of other women, but won't hear anything he has to say about her. There's also the fact that I never liked Emily, so her Kalon reaction was just funny to me, while I am actually enjoying and liking Andi as the Bachelorette, so these "episodes" disappoint me more.

Not sure it was Keiko Han voicing Luna again, but the voice did sound familiar. So excited..! That's good to hear, I also got the (pretty crappy) ADV Season 1 and 2 DVD sets, and am looking forward to getting them all back in Blu-Ray format. While I usually avoid dubs like the plague, I am somewhat curious about the new dub; considering my first exposure to the series was through the DiC dub. I don't have access to Hulu, so I'll wait until I get the BD to find out...

It's somewhat fitting that my first post ever on Previously.TV will be about Sailor Moon, the first show which introduced me to anime. I always have had a wild, irrational passion for everything Sailor Moon, and the new Crystal anime is no exception. I have been hoping for this reboot to happen for more than 10 years, I've been on the edge of my seat since they announced it about two years ago, and I can NOT wait for July 5th!
