    Heroes Reborn

Not having read anything about this, if they have new characters and new actors (like Season 2 was supposed to be), it might not suck. But since they will want familiar faces, we'll get whomever is affordable and not busy. So, I'll go with ill-conceived.
  2. I also just saw on twitter the cover art for the first original Veronica Mars mystery novel. https://twitter.com/RobThomas/status/437261246341976064/photo/1 Pretty exciting! Adding it to my GoodReads right now!
  3. I'm about an hour away from the closest theater and I was debating. I backed it enough for the digital copy, so I'll probably watch it at home and see if it comes any closer.
  4. A crotchety garage owner in East L.A. hires a Chicano with a powerful mechanical exo-skeleton.

    Sex Criminals

    That's a good cover!
  9. EricJ : A dolphin helps those in need based on mysterious numbers from an artificial intellegence.
  10. For a while when they were both on the air, I enjoyed Angel more than Buffy. Some of my favorite Joss characters were either from Angel or were former Buffy characters who moved over to Angel. I've never done a re-watch, but I imagine it would hold up pretty well.
  11. I had actually thought of it as which I realize now might not fit the exact rules. So, yes!
  12. HE DID! Crap! (I even googled it and everything because it sounded so familiar) How about a group of nerdy scientists move to a weight loss ranch.
  13. That's true on Saga. They do 6 issues monthly then take around three months off. 18 was the end of the last arc. This is a great way to do it because people can buy collections and catch up to read the monthly. DC Comics does NOT understand this.
  14. A panel of six Westeros celebs answer the question "King Joffrey is SOOO mean, he really BLANKED Tyrion". Edited for regret about possible spoilers.

    Ms. Marvel

I think this is correct: Carol Danvers has been called Ms. Marvel for the most part since she was introduced in the 1970s. In the recent series by Kelly Sue Deconnick she took on the name Captain Marvel for this first time. This has traditionally been a male hero, so it was kind of a medium to big deal to readers. Some stuff happened (spoilers) and that series has ended for now, although I'm sure she is still popping up in Avengers comics. That left the Ms. Marvel name available. Elsewhere in the Marvel Universe, some comic stuff happened and a bomb went off releasing something called terrigen mist which caused any human that had DNA belonging to the race called the Inhumans to go into a cocoon and then be released with new super powers supposedly based somehow on their personality. That's the back story of what is happening to Kamala in the first issue.
  16. I was just listening to this while cleaning the house for an in-law visit tomorrow. Hearing Tales of the Gold Monkey (which I knew BTW) reminded me of this album I had as a kid: It was medleys of TV theme songs and featured (naturally) Tales of the Gold Monkey. I don't have record player anymore but I can totally buy it for $4.99 on Amazon. Trying not to... http://www.amazon.com/Stuck-TV-T-V-Warren-Schatz/dp/B0065ALX28
  17. I don't hate it. A lot of the comments about it I have seen are comparing it to a magician and reminiscent of Jon Pertwee's Doctor. I was a big fan of the Converse, but it will be nice to see how something a bit more grown up goes over.
  18. and it just kept going all week. I played it for my wife and then tried to explain. I was mildly successful.
  19. My Tiny Triumph was hearing y'all call the podcast Wet Hot Gravy.
  20. Make it 5 times for Hawkeye and 2 times for Saga. I hear good things about East of West and Pretty Deadly and they are in my to-read queue. They are both more western than super-hero. East of West is an alternate history four horsemen of the apocalypse. I think Pretty Deadly is about a woman whose father may be Death. The current run of Wonder Woman delves a lot more into the mythology and less on the super-heroes. It reminds me a lot of Sandman with a lot of gods running around as people.
  21. They had three days of online tests scheduled for last week, but you had a scheduled appointment to take it.
