Looks like it's available now on Crave here in Canada. I'm not sure what time it went up.

I had the same thought! I'm not super familiar with Beyoncé's stans, but I know a little bit about Taylor Swift stans, and they're so obsessed with everything she does that they'll scrutinize the lyrics of anyone connected with her to see if they can tie them to her. If her boyfriend was making music, they'd be all over it.

Original air date: March 24, 2023 (streaming) / March 26, 2023 (Showtime)

I write about TV and even I think Yellowjackets season 2's release dates are confusing tl;dr of this article: Episode threads here will be available for the Friday streaming premieres. If you're watching "live" on Sundays, enter early at your own risk!

Basically that there are no plans to film more of the show within the next year, but it hasn't actually been cancelled. More seasons could be filmed in the future if the first season continues to get views on streaming and if there's money to continue the story. The actors have been released from their contracts so they can take other jobs in the meantime. It's better than nothing, I suppose, but a lot of people are viewing this as a nicer way to cancel a show, just putting it in limbo. It's similar to what happened with Mindhunter. In 2019, we were told that the show was on indefinite hold while David Fincher finished working on his next film. In 2020, Netflix released the cast from their contracts and said they'd maybe do another season in five years. Finally in 2023 Fincher said it was straight-up over.

So this one was taking place at the same time as episode six, right? The detective said Dre ("Toni") had gotten on stage in Atlanta and she asked them to hold Dre until she could get there and talk to her. In Atlanta, Dre made it into the concert and onto the stage, hallucinated Marissa's face on Ni'Jah's body, and then hallucinated Ni'Jah bringing her out to the car, but in reality that must have been a police car. Dre's outfit/mug shot are different between the two eps, but that's because episode six was supposed to be the true story in our world, while the rest of the series was the fictionalized story starring Dominique Fishback that they mentioned at the end of episode six. Very meta.

Dominique Fishback has been killing it. I didn't expect Billie Eilish to be able to keep up with her, but damn, she was good. Super unsettling. I was glad to see her get run over (twice!) at the end.

That was fun. Most of the jokes hit, although there was more vomit than I would have preferred (which is none). I couldn't help but root for Zoe even though she was truly terrible. Renee being the worst doctor in the world was great (I saw that toe thing coming). And until she went a little too ruthless, I was actually on Saskia's side -- I'm not sure I'd react the exact same way to someone destroying the fresh food stores in an apocalypse and putting everyone in danger, but it wouldn't be pretty. At the end of the season, I was thinking:

This is available already -- I guess when they said it dropped March 17, they meant in Australia!

The Watchful Eye - General Discussion

I wouldn't call that shocking, but it all made sense, so I'm good with it. Mrs. Ivey is clearly used to hearing ghosts. I wonder if that means she's spoken to Jocelyn and knows full well she's not a Winthrop. I did think the Tamarama Beach exchange in the elevator was odd, but I had no idea that James was shady. I have no idea how he ties into all this. That fancy watch Darcy showed Elliot will have to come into play at some point, right? You don't introduce "the most complex watch ever made" in episode 3 with two closeups of its face, make a point of revealing that the key-in-painting mechanism was created by a watchmaker, show the watch again in episode 8, and have it mean nothing. I like how every character is tied to the main mystery somehow. -
A League Of Their Own In The Media

Better than nothing, I suppose. The Hollywood Reporter has a longer story. -
Okay, that was a fun binge. It's not a fantastic show, but it has that campy slasher movie feel that I enjoy. It went off the rails in episode five, but in a good way. It had a satisfying resolution that tied up the season one arc but left a couple story threads open, which is good because it's already renewed for season two!

He had to get her fingerprints on the gun, and he knew she wouldn't actually shoot him, so he pulled that little stunt in the car as a combination fingerprint collection and power play. He stuck that gun in his holster and put an identical gun in the gift box. When Charlie was pointing the identical gun at the old man, Cliff shot him twice with the gun from the car. Charlie dropped the identical gun and Cliff swapped them out, putting the gift gun in his holster and laying the (smoking) car gun on the table. Charlie's fingerprints were on both guns, but that was the only way Cliff could get her fingerprints on the one that was actually fired.

She does know he's involved with Elena (she asked her about it in episode five after seeing them together both at the bar and in the elevator at the Greybourne), so it's not completely out of the blue that she'd seek him out. However, I can't remember if she knew his name/if he was a detective, so something shady could definitely be going on. -

I don't really mind the ghost aspect, but I don't think this show needs it. In this episode, Elena realized the step made a different sound when she walked on it, and only then did she figure out the "sixth step" clue. She could very easily have pulled the step up without reading that. I agree with @bilgistic -- the age lines up. Red hair would inspire the name. I feel like this show isn't trying to do a big twist kind of thing, but is just laying out all the clues for us to put together. I hope so, anyway. I always prefer a resolution that the audience can figure out and that makes sense over one that's just for shock value. -

I'm convinced that all these classes are meant to be somewhat of a joke from the writers (to keep the kid occupied so Elena can sneak around), and I hope they continue to get weirder. Same for the names of the kids he has playdates and sleepovers with. I also think it's funny that we're only six episodes in and this many people realize Elena is acting shady. She's going to end up splitting the profit from the ruby multiple ways at this point; she'll be lucky if she can afford a cheap vacation. -

Elena brought Roman in to replace the dead doorman; they knew each other beforehand. They pretended not to know each other when they first "met" at work, for obvious reasons. According to the flashback at the beginning of episode two, Elena and Scott met only six months ago when he brought her in to the station as an accessory to seven counts of fraud (she was helping her mother). He knew she could be useful to him in to the plan to steal the ruby, so proposed a "mutually beneficial arrangement" (which he insisted didn't involve sexual favors). The romantic/sexual relationship started at some point after that, so it's still pretty new. -
That's an old article from before anyone knew anything about the plot. She's in an upcoming episode.

Mindy Kaling didn't create Velma, she doesn't write for Velma, she is not the showrunner on Velma, and she is one of six executive producers on Velma. I'm not sure why she's receiving all of the blame for this show sucking, or why anyone would think her (so-far successful) career should end over it. I never see anyone insulting the man (Charlie Grandy) who is actually in charge of this crappy show.
-
She's rebuffed two people now: Marge in episode two and Davis here. I kind of like that her sexuality (and her attitude re: sex in general) is ambiguous.
-
Mindy Kaling's other shows (which she created and/or exec produced and/or wrote and/or directed for) have done well (I'll use Rotten Tomatoes scores because it's easiest): The Office US (nine seasons): 81% critic score and 89% audience score The Mindy Project (six seasons): 86% and 83% Never Have I Ever (four seasons): 93% and 85% The Sex Lives of College Girls (third season upcoming): 95% and 86% (Her short-lived show Champions has lower scores, but is still "fresh" at 63% and 66%. Her 10-episode Four Weddings and a Funeral is her only "rotten" critics' score besides Velma, at 43%, but the audience score is 81%.) I'm not defending Velma, and I'm not even defending Mindy as a person, but one crappy flop of a show (that Mindy did not create, which she does not write for, and of which she is not the showrunner) does not seem like a good enough reason to run someone out of the business.

The Watchful Eye - General Discussion

The show as a whole definitely isn't high art, but I thought that was actually pretty good writing. The boyfriend has been a controlling, dismissive asshole since the beginning, and him actively trying to steer Elena away from focusing on anything but the ruby made it clear that he was more involved than he was letting on and didn't want her to figure it out. Now that she's been pushing back more, it seems he's decided to drop the act. I would have been much more annoyed if he'd been a perfect angel boyfriend and the reveal that he was "mommy's friend" was out of the blue.
