Did this episode air yet? (The big reveal of the blow up with Jenni and Jeff? ) Is this just reality TV b.s. so people will still watch? I smell something fishy! I think ratings for this show have dropped to dangerously low levels so maybe this is just a hoax to keep people watching.

I had to stop watching because I couldn't take any more of Jeff's rude treatment of employees. I've worked at jobs with supervisors/bosses who were mean but never at the level Jeff does. He acts like there's no other home designers to work for but him. So what, you're on a reality show. You're still a big dick head and working for Jeff isn't worth the abuse and mind fucking that he puts upon EVERYONE.

I believe it is a made up fight for tv and ratings and drama.  And to further Jenni's acting career...

I don't think Jeff is as "rude" off camera as he is on camera.  I think he builds up for effect on the show.  He seems very calculated and would know if/when he was pushing people too far.  And they are paid to be on the show and paid for their work.  I am sure they can separate the feelings when the paycheck comes LOL...  I sure could.

  2. Is the song Rebecca sang to Jack the same song we hear on the show each week with just music (no words)?

I am growing tired of the Vietnam story with Jack and his brother -- not of Kevin/Zoe -- I feel like they should have wrapped it up much faster.  I am losing interest in it.  Now Kevin/Zoe - all kinds of interesting.  But seriously, bat?   There is a fine line between adventurous and stupidity....

Those cubes are the shit.  I have a ton of Eagle Creek ones.  I also have the big folding thing. The problem is my suitcase ends up heavy because I can fit so much crap in it.  My stepmom has the suitcase that goes with them.  We have had long discussions about packing organization.  We took a 2 week trip to Europe where everyone was only allowed a 24" suitcase.  Kameron wasn't really utilizing her cubes well.

She had way too much air in hers.  Mine are packed as tight as we all wore our jeans in the 80s....  They are the bomb... I got all mine at Container Store when they have had their sales. (Eagle Creek).   Other than getting an inhuman amount of stuff into your luggage, they are awesome for unpacking — makes it so fast!!!

I still have no idea why Brandi thought getting drunk would be a good way to prove LeeAnne was wrong about her alcoholism.    I also can’t believe they were not taking in more of the scenery vs being cooped up in doors at a cooking class or brewery....

And how did production not pick up the 1st class tab?  Hmmmmmm.

I am convinced they all sat in First and that it was all a ruse to try to create drama.  OR that Leanne and D'Andra don't really care about sitting up front and wanted to spend their money some other way.  International first or business is just the best.  If all they wanted was $1200, I'd be so down with that.  However, maybe it is not as important to them?

    This.

I also enjoyed meeting Chunk this episode.  I feel like the whole drama between D'Andra and LeAnne is manufactured only for the show.   I think LeAnne and Brandi signed on as "the villains" and they are set to play their roles.  D'Andra simply hasn't been that interesting in the past seasons but this year she is front and center due to the "feud" with LeAnne.

I said it last week and I’ll say it again-they do move these stories along. Any speculation that we have about many things that happen in an episode get answered and stories move forward. Except for Jon’s Big Secret. I wish they’d just wrap that up since it seems to have no place with the rest of the friend’s stories.

They need to get on with the "big secret" -- and thanks to the poster who shared the screenshot of the letter which revealed almost nothing :-(  UGH.  ENOUGH ALREADY - SPILL!

Yeah - I definitely need to know WHY she is hiding all of this from Jon's family.

Plus, also, yes, I’m sure you are getting a skinny margarita in Jamaica.

We go to Jamaica frequently and laugh at folks who order tequila based drinks there (not to their faces).  It is just not a tequila place.  Rum is their mainstay and what they make best (see Bob Marley drink reference below).  I am willing to bet the margarita (skinny or otherwise) was horrible tasting.

It is also probably not the best idea to get steak in Jamaica.  It is not going to be ANYTHING like the steaks we are used to in the US.    Fish and local dishes are the best since they are fresh.   I've found beef to be substandard - but then again I am in Texas and have access to tons of great steak restaurants...

I have an ex boss who was married to a very wealthy man, they owned several luxury properties in Jamaica with staff, guard dogs, gorgeous views and air conditioning, stupidly I never took advantage of going to Jamaica. I am surprised that Bravo did not book a luxury property for the women, there are lots of amazing rentals I am sure, the women usually have first class accommodations.  If they stayed at that resort in exchange for the free advertising it didn't work, I don't even remember name of where they stayed.

The private villas are luxury properties but the larger resorts are mostly basic.  5 stars in Jamaica is like 3 stars in the US.   The resort they were staying was fairly new but they really didn't do much on property - they were always off somewhere.  I am unsure why they left the property and went to Doctors Cave beach when the beach in front of their property was much less crowded and looked really clean.  Unless it was so we could be wowed by Kelly doing a backflip on the water trampoline.  That was pretty cool!

Because arranging security on that kind of an outing might have been a real problem.  I heard Jamaica is not a very safe place for tourists outside their hotel compound.  Quite a few years ago Mr. Thrax went there once on business with a client (a coffee broker), and he told me that street crime was rampant, particularly against tourists.  They had to hire two bodyguards (one each) to accompany them on a trip from Kingston to Blue Mountain and back.  I was really surprised because I always thought of it as a laid-back paradise.

Jamaica is a super poor country.  The living wage there is remarkably low.  The lure of easy money with tourists who probably won't stick around to file charges who maybe couldn't pick them out of a line up due to excessive alcohol or drugs....  It is safer within the compound of the resorts where guards sit at the gates and track who is coming and going.   There are many wonderful people in Jamaica and it is a beautiful place.  You have to remind yourself to secure yourself as you would in a large city or in the seedier parts of your smaller town -- even though you are surrounded by palm trees and gorgeous beaches....

I was with you up to the bolded part...because Eddie was all ready to leave his son in the 1st episode.  Now, keep in mind that this is Eddie.  I don't think Eddie has even mastered object permanence yet, something most people do when they are about 8 or 9 months old (yeah, I looked it up..)  He doesn't recognize anyone's needs but his own and he sees no repercussions to any of his actions UNTIL it is is too late.  I don't think Eddie realized that he was "losing" (not really, but you know what I mean) Theo until the moment he sat down at the table to talk to him with Katherine.

Good point - I had forgotten that part from episode 1.

  9. I just got caught up on a few episodes that were on the backburner in favor of other more interesting shows...

I want to know more of the intrigue and mystery around the suicide.  I want to know what his assistant knows.

    Questions from this episode:

What grown woman uses a pregnancy test at another grown woman’s house and doesn’t fully obscure it in the trash.   If you did take the test at a friend’s house (doubtful), you would for sure hide it at the bottom of the trash can or take it with you in the little CVS bag that it came in.

I know Eddie is the “wrongdoer” in the marriage but why would he move out when he is admittedly the primary caregiver for their son?   Catherine can’t quit her job nor can she pull back overnight from work in process.   She also can’t find a nanny overnight either.  Eddie should stay, take care of the  kid and Catherine move out or into the spare bedroom.  Maybe Eddie moves into the spare bedroom instead.  But no way does Eddie move out away from the son.

I am part of a couple who decided not to have kids and very happy with the decision.  It is nice to see “us” on tv as many of you have mentioned upthread.

I do not care if Maggie takes treatment or not. I just don’t care that much about her and I feel like she was reckless as a therapist to have Rome quit his job.

What surprised me about the convenience store scene was that no one recognized Kevin. He was the Manny. Now he's starring in a big movie. But no one in the store noticed that. Same thing with the conversation with the soldier's wife. Yes Zoe is dating a white man, but she's also dating a celebrity. How was that not part of the conversation?

I thought it was odd that they didn't recognize him as the Manny too.  No one ever seems to even mention that to Kevin.  And he has that movie that just premiered where is one of the stars...  That part rang false to me.

Also, my husband and I are not an unusual couple - similar age, similar race, nothing unusual about our looks that would seem to "separate" us but many times we are asked one check or two at restaurants.  I think it is that people do not want to assume a man/woman are a couple.

I do not dispute that the look she gave Zoe was racist at all.  But everything up to the point where he said "we're together" didn't seem racist at all.

If Randall was just a bit more astute, he would have realized that it would be far more effective to find out what people in that area wanted for their families, friends, and neighborhood.  Then maybe support them and get them pointed in a direction to work on those goals as a community, so they have some ownership.  By running for election he makes the problems and solutions all about him, and the residents are secondary (not that this doesn't happen in real life elections).  As it is, the councilman, instead of dealing with local citizens, has Randall as a lightning rod without any support.

I can't imagine ANY outsider winning an election especially against a long-time incumbent.  PLUS - why in the world would they still be paying rent (albeit to themselves) on that apartment since William passed many months ago?

Is the Dallas charity scene truly that cliquey and judgmental?! Seems like a hypocritical dichotomy.

Interesting that Brandi knew Travis even before he met Stephanie. Too bad we didn’t know that back when Stephanie and Brandi had their falling out. Adds another layer.

Mama Dee’s “best friend” Marion seemed a bit more than a friend......?

I had no idea Jimmy was her MIL or even why she was there til Kam mentioned it.    I am guessing that this is a way for Kam to have more story line only and to bring her MIL onto the TV show.  I would be willing to bet that most of these ladies who lunch REGULARLY have cocktails at lunch, at the country club afterwards, at bars/restaurants, and at home on the regular.  I bet many of them have drivers so they don't get DUIs.   But I bet MANY of them do drink -- but maybe are more reserved in their drunkenness.

Also - we did know that about Brandi knowing Travis -- he is her husband's long time BFF.

I liked the "Follow the Group Leader" test.. Again, it would have been nice to see this every week - a week or so after the GLs are announced.

I thought the GL was a step out in front - so everyone could see the dance she picked. If she is in line with those to her immediate right/left, isn't that hard to see ? Peripheral vision could miss a detail or two.

And I guess that means all four groups could be dancing a different dance with the same song. That's alot for the the person in the stands to watch - in addition to the game and anything else that is going on in the stadium.

I always enjoy this as it is a "real life" scenario - meaning that at the games, this is what happens.    Songs pop on and they must start dancing.   Also the stadium is so huge you can't really focus in on it being 4 sets of dances going on so it is not really an issue.

    24 minutes ago, parrotfeathers said:

Loved the group leader stuff.  I don't think I could take that pressure of thinking of what to do in 4 seconds.  I don't think I could react to anything in 4 seconds.

It becomes more about muscle memory and just hearing a song (they are basically the same songs on repeat) and kicking into the right routine.  4 seconds is a lot longer than it sounds :-)

Great episode - I feel like we missed a ton of conversation to have Victoria go from some small tears to full on Tammy Faye (love that old reference!) a few seconds later on the show.  CMT can't show every single detail...  I do wonder about Tara as she just wasn't that bad IMHO to warrant being cut based on what we've been shown.    And I 100% thought the same thing about the flashback / where are they now scene - with the aging...

And in sad news - I passed by the old Cowboys HQ in Valley Ranch last night and it is being demolished.  Saw it on the news this morning to confirm.

Right!!! Every day of my life and it sucks! They are used to living where there is no humidity.

A hotel in Jamaica should have the A/C on 24/7. There is no point in the day when it is ok to be turned off. These are paying customer's for cripes sakes and Jamaica is a tourist destination. I think it was probably broken and the hotel was in process of having it fixed. The women were good sports about it, though. If that had been the BH or the ATL ladies they would have been out of there in a heartbeat.

That resort is fairly new - it opened last fall - and likely isn't up to full occupancy.  Somewhere in this thread, someone said they were there in April.  Jamaica isn't typically that warm in April.  From lots of experience travelling to other resorts in Jamaica specifically and the Caribbean in general, I can say that hotels do not leave the A/C on 24/7 in unoccupied rooms.   And the A/C usually turns off when the sliding glass doors open to the outside (for efficiency).  I wonder if the hotel had just not had those rooms in use and it was taking awhile to get cool and then they kept opening the doors (well not the Zika scaredy cats).  And some hotel rooms there have triggers that turns off the AC when there isn't enough movement in the room which would cause it to be warm when they first entered the room after being gone awhile.

I can't imagine that it was broken for more than a few hours.  And I would have definitely been complaining til they fixed it if I were at a resort without working A/C in the Caribbean.

One thing that sort of bugged me was - here we were, seeing in detail all the awful things Jack endured and experienced before and during Vietnam, and yet...no one but we viewers know what happened, or how it affected him. Perhaps he shared a few details with Rebecca but who knows. Certainly his children knew next to nothing about their uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. So even though we are gaining all this insight, none of the other characters have it.

My dad was in ROTC in college and commissioned as an officer in the US Army in the late 60s.  He was eventually sent to Vietnam when I was a baby and fortunately came home safely after a tour.  He was in the reserves for a period of time afterward (not the same as the reserves today where you do weekends).    He has not spoken one word about Vietnam to his family (parents, wife, child, etc) and none of us would ever ask him given he doesn't share it freely.   I can only imagine it was a horrible time and something he doesn't wish to talk about.   I find that part about Jack's experience to be very realistic as it mirror's my dad's experience and mine as his child.
