I thought the connection to the football player was that he was the one who threw the Immaculate Reception, which was the night that Jack and Rebecca met?

I believe that this is the last we are seeing of Franco as a character on the show  (just a hunch - not a spoiler) .  We may see him in more football tape but not as a person who would interact with the others.

but I wonder if Toby and Kate's weight would make them less likely to qualify? I know little about adoption, so do not know. Do you have to go through health tests?

I do not know about health tests but I do know a couple who are similar sized to Toby and Kate that adopted a baby 2-3 years ago and were able to do so fairly easily (from the outside looking in - I am sure it was anguishing for them going through the process)

Maybe I am not remembering correctly but how do Kate and Toby have the money for all of this?  Does Kate even work at all besides a few singing gigs?

I have zero idea how they could possibly afford and pay for the treatments.  I know couples who have very good incomes and are in very good health who have trouble with the exhorbitant (just my opinions) costs.  I do not think Kate has a job and not sure what Toby does but he isn't pulling down big bucks like an actor (Kevin) or a stock analyst/crop futures wiz (Randall).    I need to know how they are paying!!!!

Interesting with the JLH reference given she is on 911 this season and the folks on that board seem to hate her...

I agree.  My friend married a guy that texted her upon meeting her for their first date (they had met on Match.com) “I’m in the bar and waiting for the woman of my dreams”.   If someone texted me that on a first date I wouldn’t have met him.

They would still be in the bar waiting as I would be totally scared to death that they were a creepy stalkery guy.

I have been looking forward to this rant since I saw it in previews.  This is why I can never quit Leanne.  Her weave is exhausted, though.  She and Deandra would look great with shoulder-length hair that is not pitch black.

    This...

And LeeAnne's wedding planner is what I refer to as "prematurely black".  For the love no human has hair that color!  It was solid, pitch black.

Ok, I'm sorry, but I'm still extremely skeptical about a family of gingers JUST SO HAPPEN to have a ginger baby randomly drop into their lives for adoption...no waiting, nothing. I wasn't born yesterday. The theory I'm tossing around is that Bryan had an affair with a young college co-ed. She doesn't want to be a mother now and Bryan doesn't want  to be entangled with her, BUT she doesn't want to have an abortion. So Bryan either convinces Brandy to adopt the baby, or he has Travis (friend of the adoption service guy) help him plot to have Stephanie coincidentally find out the adoption agency has a white baby boy who needs a home.

I feel like they are smart enough to know that  a real backstory would come out if there were one with this being on the show.  Solely for that reason, I believe it is just a happenstance that they found a red haired baby boy that needed adopting.

Stephanie's husband is back to giving me sketch vibes. If my husband had to be away from our kids for a month, and we had the means, he'd be insisting that we come visit! Travis didn't seem like he just didn't know his schedule; he seemed to want to put her off the idea entirely.

I agreed with LeAnn that D'Andra can dish it out, but not take it. She had no problem coming hard for LeAnn about HER personal life.

I have been to some of those executive education week or two long trainings and they are no joke.  We are not even allowed to have spouses or children on site much more than a drop off or pickup from the company owned training facility and hotel where you must stay...   These are not 8-5 classes but all day, every day and then groups/teams with assignments that must be worked on after the training time is over with etc.   A family or spouse that showed up for a weekend would likely cut into the team work time and thus cause repercussions for him in the successful completion of the training course.   I can see him wanting to get there and get the "lay of the land" before agreeing to have the fam come up over a weekend.

Yeah - LeeAnne was harsh to D'Andra but no harsher than D'Andra was to LeeAnne about her wedding.   I was shocked she couldn't take it....

I could never work in an environment where the entire office of employee's sits at one big table. How do you make business phone calls or concentrate on your own work when you can hear everybody else talking? It's an awful, uncomfortable set up. I work in such an environment after YEARS and YEARS of having an office and prior to that having a cube with walls.   I thought the same as you -- that I would hate it.  I don't hate it at all and frankly enjoy it...  It builds a different camaraderie than offices/cubes can.

  6. After watching the show, I think Jenny and Jeff are in on this together to attract more press for the show somehow.

And watching the show and knowing Jenny hadn't worked there in ages, it was very obvious by her interactions with the other folks.  Especially the woman who hugged her like she hadn't seen her in ages whose house they are redoing and were redoing last season.  She also had to ask for phone numbers of people who she would have had their # had she really been Jeff's assistant.  I like how they gave her a new title and all.  But I am suspicious of it being an actual "break-up" and not done for ratings.

So... we moved in May and I am just now getting around to ordering a front-door doormat.  I was deeply concerned *cough* that it would not be the appropriate size due to the RHOA lesson we learned this season.    I am pretty sure I did okay...  But had to share that with the folks on here as before it would have never crossed my mind.

  12. I have loved reading everyone’s ideas on the show.  I was shocked by part 2 but haven’t rewatched (probably won’t).  I guess we just have to wait and see or visualize it differently.  We each write our own endings to these shows (I never thought Tony Soprano died outside that diner —  I don’t hate on those who do though!) and in our minds it all sorts itself out...

Interested to see what comes up in the next episode!

Im from the midwest and Missouri is definitely not midwestern in any way im familiar with,  culturally.  I dont identify with Arkansas or any of Miss, either. I think we need more than a few names to put to places.

What about Adora? Does she seem sufficiently Southern?

Yes  -- they all seem southern but I have a hard time knowing it is Missouri and thinking "southern".

If you asked me to name a southern state, I would name VA, NC, SC, GA, AL, TN, FL, MS, LA, AR then I would name KY, TX and I probably would never name Missouri.

    A quick google reference:

    Quote

Missouri typically is categorized as both a Midwestern and a southern state. The region was split on Union and Confederate issues during the Civil War. A small region of the state is called Little Dixie for the influx of southerners that settled there.

    Quote

Little Dixie is a historic 13- to 17-county region of mid-to-upper-mid Missouri along the Missouri River, settled at first primarily by migrants from the hemp and tobacco districts of Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee. Because Southerners settled there first, the pre-Civil War culture was similar to that of the Upper South.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Dixie_(Missouri)

However Little Dixie is geographically more in the center of the state near Jefferson City than "spitting distance"from Tennessee.

  14. I'm from the deep south and just have a hard time with Missouri discussed as being southern.  To me, its the midwest.  This town seems more like Northwest Mississippi or Arkansas to me.

I am totally intrigued with this show and wouldn't understand half of what is going on with this show if I didn't read this board.    I feel like I need to read the book but trying to wait til the show is over so that I am not totally spoiled.

      Reveal hidden contents

Young Camille was molested and or raped, and became promiscuous. Amma is the result of it- Camille gave birth to Amma and Adora raised her as her own.

Adora is a reformed slut and has something against young girls that are promiscuous. She and Amma were probably somehow involved in the murders.

Adora has dirt on Chief Vickery. Could he be Camille’s biological father?

    YES!!!!  ME TOO!

  20. I do not like Kim on RHOA but I do enjoy her own show.  She is definitely in a different "character" mode in each of these shows with only a few small similarities. (red solo cup!)  I think on her show she has geniune interactions with others whereas Kandi had it right when she called her out on being more on the peripheral of the show and waiting to escape back to Kroy.  These genuine interactions make her infinitely more likable.  Kroy has a lot more personality too.

Has Marlo been to Chateau Sheree?  I am wondering what she would say about her (from what I could tell and I did rewind a few times) lack of porch mat?   Is no mat better than a small mat?  Inquiring minds...

I knew as soon as Wyatt got a text that he figured out Jessica was alive. I don't get how though. Even if they were still married, he's been living in the bunker so she wouldn't be expecting him to come home. I expected to wait at least one episode before they brought her back, but I guess it is a short season.

Or maybe she thinks Wyatt turned into a criminal or something, since this mission is no longer really sanctioned by the government. That could be one reason for not being happy to see him. It looked like her ring was an engagement ring, not a wedding band, but who knows.

It was no surprise to me that she was alive after they finally got together.   Bummer that it was soooooo soon after the hookup!

I also noticed the engagement ring so I feel like she disappeared herself and was definitely not happy to see Wyatt.....

Got to disagree with you there. If my dead husband/ love of my life, texted me when they were supposed to be dead, nothing on this planet would keep me from getting to them just to see if it was true. Regardless of feelings. That whole feelings mess would be totally independent from the need to know. Especially after last season.  Plus why say something to Lucy or anyone when you don't know if it is true.

Reminds me of Grey's Anatomy when Meredith said to her "lover" who found out his wife was alive (coincidentally played by the actress playing Lucy!) and was leaving to go see her -- "If it was Derrick, I'd have already been gone."

I hated Carrie for storming out and taking Frannie with her. Frannie obviously loved living with her aunt, uncle, and cousins, and was thriving from having a stable home life. What kind of mother sees their child so happy and well adjusted after the trauma of last season and decides to mess that up again?

Carrie needs to give that kid up already. Far too many late-night raids for one childhood. This is the one that's bugged me the most.

I feel really bad for Frannie in all of this and I can't get the scene from a few seasons ago when she almost drowned her out of my head when they show them together.  She really is basically unfit to be a full time mom to her.

Did anyone get the sense that there is/was some kind of romantic relationship between Keane and Wellington? The way he insisted in his resignation letter that Simone "meant nothing" - why would Keane care if their relationship was strictly professional? And obviously Simone didn't "mean nothing" since he's been seeing her for four years.

    12 hours ago, Pallas said:

Wellington's second letter said he has "true feelings" for the POTUS, and she didn't let him say it, but neither did she let him resign. Was this only his way of securing his job; was this merely, only his way of securing his job, or is he in fact in cahoots with at least one member of the opposition? I'm beginning to think there are at least two separate, active plots against Keane -- one Russian, one domestic -- and that Wellington is, in fact, tied to the latter. Another reason he was gobsmacked to hear about the Russian action, and how he was implicated.

Saul told Max that he took down the surveillance in Wellington's house. I wonder if Saul told a fib.

Yeah I definitely got the vibe that either they already were a couple having an affair or he wanted to have one with her or SOMETHING was in the works....

And no way did Saul take down the surveillance.  I am sure he just redirected it to his team to view!
