It is 100% believable to me that a kid who was 8 in 2006 would have his home's landline phone number memorized and still remember it now. Mobile phones were not quite as ubiquitous and drilling the home phone into a small child's head is/was common. And he wouldn't have grown up in a culture where one no longer needs to remember phone numbers. So it'd stick. I buy it completely.

Heck my parents have the same phone number (albeit a different area code since the early 2000s)  since 1974.  I knew my phone number and would have a hard time forgetting it.  I can still recall both sets of my grandparents' phone numbers which haven't been dialed in over 20 years.  Now please don't ask me something from last week.  Or even last night LOL....

They went to Asheville, not Nashville.

Yes, on the show they were clearly in Asheville.   But Shep made a comment that his cabin was 4 hours from Nashville.  Where he went to school at Vanderbilt.  I just can't imagine how fast you have to be going from that cabin to get to Nashville in 4 hrs. Knoxville is in between the cabin and Nashville thus my reference.

And just the top portion of the pajama set - who doesn't at least wear leggings or shorts when hanging out with a group??

I was wondering the same thing. In my 20s, I had a group of friends of both sexes that went on trips like this together and no one would wear something like this.  Of course, none of my group was dating or wanted to date each other.  but still.  Too tacky.

He never appeared older to me than when he asked the girls on the street, "Are you into the Grunge Movement?"

I didn't realize it was a "movement"   I had to rewind to make sure I heard him correctly.  And he's even of an age that he should know what grunge was and likely knew of someone who at least half-heartedly participated in it....

I was laughing everytime Shep said "Appalachians".... around here we call them the Blue Ridge mountains. Or the Smoky Mountains a little closer to me. The only time I've ever heard someone refer to Applachians, is the state university, my alma mater. :)

At least he said it correctly.  My husband and I both noticed that and it made me think of the conversation on here last week about how Shep is really smart.  And if he can make it from that cabin to Nashville in 4 hours... I want to know how many tickets he got doing so :-)  Its been a long time since I lived in Knoxville but I can't see how he made it in 4 hrs since there are plenty of mountains in between....

I kind of faded in and out of really watching, but when Leeann said something about God giving them or her the 'texts'.  Yes, Leeann, God is concerned about the texts that someone sent about you.  Good grief.

This.  I said to the TV - "God doesn't care about your texts"

    12 hours ago, ToukieSmith said:

I was thinking the same thing.  Unlike LeeAnn, I would rather God not concern himself with my idiotic texts and focus his attention on the presidential election or people being displaced due to the storms we keep having.

I think Tiffany needed to be present because she was the one receiving the texts from Marie.  Good grief LeeAnne handled that badly.  She had the upper hand going in and she totally lost it with her fruitcake behavior.  Either she is playing this role too hard or she is really nuts.

Damn.  I felt the heat through the TV screen.  Brandi needs to redirect her hate from LeeAnne and focus it on Brian.

Marie appears to live a luxurious lifestyle, but she could not afford to send her 10 year-old to dance class?

My guess is she has taken her to dance class.  And either a) didn't like the feedback she got and is asking Brandi for help since a friend can't be so critical as a paid dance instructor or b) is just doing it for the show.    Or maybe a combo.....

    12 hours ago, princelina said:

IMO Tiffany's just a big old shit-stirrer.  A real peacemaker would have said something like "Marie's been texting me - she's worried/pissed about how you acted at her party" and then told Marie to knock it off and address Leeann.  She's rapidly becoming my least favorite of these gals, and with this crew that's saying a lot!

yeah Tiffany is not anyone's friend with all of her antics...

.  Brandi's face also looks very harsh, HD does her no favors because to me, she looks the same age as LeeAnn.

Someone had mentioned last week about her eyeshadow.  It was very dramatic to see the TH where she has great matte gray eyeshadow which makes her eyes look beautiful and the frosty pink mess she had on at the restaurant which aged her 10-15 years.  We have all made makeup blunders -- let's hope she learns from her pink sparkle mess....

  5. It would have been a lot better show if they had let us know about halfway through that Adam was still alive and not waited til the very end of the show (now series)...  It makes it a lot more interesting to think about...  Its surprising to me that this was his mother's first trip to the place where he was held.  I am not a mother but it seems like something you'd want to do for closure.

Craig did buy into JD's business.  A very small part of JD's business.  And yeah, he does have the money because he makes a salary from doing Southern Charm.  Craig's problem is that, as a twenty something, he's hungry but doesn't get that you have to prove yourself.  Yeah, it seems he's doing well with the hotel part of JD's business but that doesn't mean he's qualified to do the Bourbon part.  Like, most twenty somethings he's got a lot to learn.

On the other hand, Landon, who is in her thirties, just doesn't get it and she should know better at this point.  She's kind of pathetic.  Just like Thomas is when it comes to his relationship with Kathryn.  He's in his fifties and should know better.  Actually, they kind of make a perfect, pathetic couple who deserve one another.

Craig is perpetuating the millennial stereotype of wanting to immediately be in some sort of position of power without putting any work into the position he has today.  Sadly, this is what a lot of millennials are like in the workplace today (Please note that I said a lot - not all...)

Naomie's reaction was really strange. Maybe she's starting to realize that Craig is a talker (the bar, the bourbon business) and not a doer.

This.  I think she had a lightbulb moment that Craig isn't all he says he is.

This HAS to be bullshit (on their part, not yours) - there's absolutely no way they wouldn't know what they were shooting for! But like, WHY LIE ABOUT THAT. Just to play up their "cute" ditziness?! Weird.

I see others have mentioned that Potomac and NY were the same setup (not knowing they were RH franchises)  I wanted to also point out that Miami was originally billed to them as a supper club type group reality show -- thus all of the first season shows were built around a dinner party hosted by each woman.

Actually anyone can get a basic Birkin bag from their official site: http://www.hermesbag.us.com/.

Anyone can get a FAKE basic Birkin from that site.  Getting a Birkin from an Hermes boutique is another story.

And no one in the social circles she aspires to belong to would carry a fake handbag of any sort.

And Kathryn treated herself to ... a fake Burkin bag?  Because people are status-conscious but she's real?

And she sat the fake Birkin on the floor. No way would anyone with a real Birkin have it sitting on the floor in a restaurant outside.  I do not get having a fake bag.  And get even less putting any handbag on the ground.  This is definitely a faux-pas....

I forgot about the DTF comment from Shep. He wrote a blog, apologizing, and said he was upset it was aired. Dude. YOU were the one who said it; they wouldn't have been able to air something you didn't say, ass.

I thought the DTF comment was funny but that poor gal.... how embarassing for her that he would say that in his TH.

Isn't the purpose of a fake to convincingly present the bag as the real thing?  The problem here is that anyone who has even the most minimal knowledge of fashion knows that this D-list, reality "star", isn't going to be able to get her hands on one.  Why not just buy a beautiful, leather bag or more attainable name brand, if she's interested?  Rather than lugging around an obvious fake?

It makes me wonder if the Chanel jumbo flap bag she has been seen carrying is also a fake?

I did laugh at Stephanie's sister explaining that while they didn't have Uber they have AAA, and if you're too drunk you just call them and have them tow you home!

That was pure gold.  I also agree with how sweet Brandi was at the dinner table (everyone drinking water!) at Stephanie's family's house.  She seems so much more comfortable there than at the events.  I heard both Brandi and Stephanie on RadioAndy on Sirius/XM the other day and they were so sweet and funny and seemed better than they do on the show.  They were both nominated by someone else that the production company was targeting for the show because they were so goofy and hilarious together with their antics.  They did not know it was for the Real Housewives franchise until after they had shot all of their footage and went to shoot the opener holding the stars that they were told it was RHOD.

I guess the mystery of why Stephan Pyles closed his flagship downtown restaurant last week is solved.  He knew it could never recover from having this shitshow happy hour filmed there.

I said the same thing to my husband (who has no idea why we have to watch this -- other than its in the Dallas area...)

I'm not a LeeAnne fan but I felt bad for her when Taylor shared that LeeAnne had pooped her pants.  For one, I don't believe it, and even if it happened, how would he know?  It's not something you announce.  What you do is you quietly excuse yourself, go home and clean up.  (Don't ask me how I know.)

Taylor seemed like a plant to me as well.  He was only there to cause trouble -- guess he has "bowed up" with LeeAnne before during their board serving time....

I think that someone has to be encouraging these ladies(?) to start fighting at these meetings as it happens every.single.time.  I have never seen this sort of fighting in real life at charity, social or other events.  I do not see people fighting/arguing at restaurants so much either.  Dallas is really a chill place and the people are friendly.  Not that you could tell it from this bunch....

  12. Is anyone else bothered by the fact that her husband's goal is to be "a multimillionaire by the time he's 40"? It's not - "I want to be a successful lawyer" or "I want to own my own tech company" or "I want to design the best buildings in Dallas". There's no specific passion there, no niche. He just wants "x" amount of money by "x" amount of years. That would totally turn me off.

I may be wrong, but I believe this is how Brandi described her husband's goals.  Not how her husband described his goals.  I am guessing that his description would be more detailed like above vs in generalities about money like Brandi gave.

  13. Pic 34 is Tiffany, Marie, and Leann.   Pic 35 has Leann, Tiffany, and I think one of the other two women was the one who Leann told Tiffany was the chairwoman of the event.  Sharon maybe?

The one with the pearl's is pix 34-5.

I scrolled through all the photos - the last two are photos of Leeanne and two other women - one of them could be her friend (can't remember her name).  :-)

Oops - how did I miss that?!?!?!

  14. Leanne needs to put down the blush brush. Good God woman.

Her blush was applied too heavily - it was very clownish.  And the hat made it worse as it framed her face and all I could see was blush and (faux) pearls.

Whats up with not Keith Urban?  Last week he was in love with Dallas; this week he does not know whether he wants to live in Dallas.  Surely that potential mortgage payment  was not bothering him since we know he isn't paying the bills anyway.

Well he was still here this past weekend playing at a popular restaurant in Coppell (Suburbia - not Dallas - gasp!) on Saturday night.  I have no idea if there was a turnout or not...  It is a restaurant though and not a music venue.  All sorts of local artists of all degrees of talent play there so having that gig isn't really remarkable.   The patio is popular with locals (to Coppell not Dallas in general) and is usually full in nice(ish) weather so a big crowd wouldn't necessarily indicate that they had come to see him....

  15. Then Kathryn goes on a tangent about alcohol at the event ( she was probably pissed because she couldn't partake on film herself because of the bun in the oven).

Even after JD's wife told her that they would remove anthing that was making her uncomfortable she still stormed off.

What I do not understand is that her friend was drinking and carrying the drink around even while Kathryn was having her meltdown at the polo event.  If this were my friend and knew she was not allowing her child to be around alcohol, I would not get a drink for myself.  However, this is likely just an excuse of the day to meltdown.  No way it was their first time around alcohol either....  *sigh*

OMG I absolutely LOVE JD. When he did the TH and said "I have no idea what Katheryn is upset about, but I'd be lying if I said I had never seen this before...so heeere we go again, bwahahahaha" I laughed my ass off.

JD is hilarious...  I am glad we saw more of him this episode.

  16. Its a big crazy train wreck.  I am watching for the scenery and trying to figure out where they are.  We've lived in the area (suburbia) and I work in the Park Cities area of Dallas for the past 3 years.  I can't imagine anyone with good sense would sign up for a show like this -- thus the train wreck...  I'm in though...

  17. Loved the pilot but did not love the gay slurs that were tossed about to and fro.  This coupled with their outfits took me back to the 1980s and am with the other posters who were confused as to what decade the series was set.   For what it's worth, I am not gay.

    I'm watching though!

  18. I love the 'open concept rooms'  I like the freeflowing of it. What I don't understand is HH's looking at 'starter homes'

Why buy a house that you may grow out of in 2-3 yrs ?  When we were HH (9.3 yrs ago), my only son was 8 (still an only child) and we bought a 2,300 sg ft-4 bdrm house. I didn't want a 'starter house'

My 'starter house' will be when we downsize after my son moved out on his own.  lol

Maybe its all they can afford?
