  1. I can't stand Buffy. I binge-watched it all. Once. Never again. And while most of the plots were good (or at least no worse than other genre plots), I hate almost all of the actors which spills over to their characters. I can't stand SMG's voice, David Boreanaz's anything (why do people insist he is good looking?), Spike's hair, Allison Hannigan's voice and mannerisms. I like Cordelia although I can't stand Charisma Carpenter. OTOH, I adore Drusilla. As to Veronica and Logan, I hate that they made them this OTP for many reasons. Logan was an ass. However, I can't deny that Bell and Dohring set the screen on fire together. I don't hate Lily Kane. I don't like her but I see why motherless teenage Veronica would admire her. At least until she found her own dark side.
  2. Wow. No, that doesn't bother me. I didn't mind the ending much and I don't think it's what's making me tired. Actually, the only thing that bothered me about the ending was Baltar and Six's solution. I still quite haven't made up my mind about Starbuck, but when I feel less charitable, I think her and their solution felt like they couldn't figure out what to do. Just because Hera died young doesn't mean everyone did, does it? And even so, it still doesn't spell doom and gloom to me. Humanity has lived for a much much longer time frame without technology than it has with it. Lifespans have only recently expanded and there is a lot of doubt about whether that's a good thing in the long run. I don't see why the ending has spelled terrible extinction for them. I might be forgetting something since I haven't rewatched since it ended, but that's not what I took away from it. I'd love to go on this journey again because it's an excellent one but it's not an easy one. It's gut-wrenching, crazy, painful but also very beautiful.
  3. I think Ava turning made more sense to me than her getting together with Boyd in the first place. I found Boyd's story very compelling this season. He kept struggling and despite him usually being one of the smartest men in the room, but it also showed that he is just a big fish in a small pond with a lot of very stupid personnel to choose from. For all his smarts, he still doesn't get it that a life of crime in Harlan isn't going to get him very far. I also had a hard time with Raylan this season. A lot of his actions and behaviors crossed the line with me. Especially his tendency to play dumb until something very bad happens got on my last nerve. Also whenever he made a point that he is the law and can do whatever, I found myself being disgusted. I loved Art punching him but but I fear he might have forgiven him and that was it. I hope there is some redemption and reflection that actually has some consequences in the last season, otherwise, it will be hard to watch for me. One thing that stood out was him basically just standing there watching when Darryl was shot by his sister, twice. Not that I didn't want Darryl to die a painful and horrible death but that kinda also crossed a line with me. I binge-watched after it was over. I find this show is better when watching in larger increments of 2-3 episodes in a row.
  4. Same here. I was so happy when I saw him again, on Firefly or Burn Notice, I think. The episode has its problems but he really stood out for me at the time. I rewatch that episode only for Scully scaring the crap out of Mulder at the end, and Mark Sheppard being supremely creepy, especially with the kids.
  5. Once in flight school, he was laconic.
  6. I'm certainly not much of a Whedon fan, I really don't like Buffy, I seem to be in a minority who prefers Angel's season 5 (especially after Fred turns into Illyria), and I liked Connor's overall arc and I thought casting a limited actress like Eliza Dushku in Dollhouse pretty much doomed that show from the beginning for me. I think, he's just not good with casting. Sometimes he lucks out, but most of the time, it's people like David Boreanaz or bloody Amy Acker. Having said that, adore this show. I even like Whedon's patented waif character represented in River. I think it was the contrast between extreme vulnerability and excessive joy Summer Glau managed to portray. I only watched it after it was off the air, so I managed to miss the mismanagement by Fox and saw this one first. I still think it's a very good pilot. I do wonder what they were smoking when they thought to air train job first.
  7. I liked how it showcased under how much pressure Simon was. He didn't quite trust Mal not to leave them behind, worried about River touching sharp things. And I love snarky Simon. Best scene of that episode for me: Between Mal and Simon at the end: You're part of my crew. Why are we still talking about this? And Simon allows himself a little smile that shows that he realizes he can relax a bit. What didn't work for me was that they didn't look for them in the first place. They weren't that far.
  8. My favorite! She is terse.
  9. While love this episode overall, what throws me out of it every time since the first time I saw it was that the ship was so clean. It didn't look like Reavers tossed the place and did unmentionable things to the crew and passengers. There should have been blood and they should have smelled the bodies the moment they entered that storage space. Hell, the guy they "rescued" left more of a mess in the infirmary. Agreed on the pure joy on River's face in contrast to Simon. It showed what he was about without any dialogue. A protector.
  10. Agree with most of them. I also adore the one when Joey finds out that Chandler and Monica were away together based on the eyelash curler and the mentioning of Donald Trump, I think. His face, Chandler and Monica dragging him into her bedroom and the eyeball-searing red sweater he wears. Also, the one with Brooke Shields when they all throw water in Joey's face. Or, wait, in Hans Ramoray's face, Drake's Evil Twin! I actually love the one when Ross and Rachel break up the second time. "Just so you know, it's not that common, it doesn't happen to every guy, and it is a big deal!" Chandler: I knew it!
  11. Yeah, my reaction then and now is still: WTF is starlight? They had her fake-back, dead, not-dead, kidnapped, not kidnapped, raised by CSM, possibly not, cloned, and what not, I realize there wasn't much they could do with her story at this point, but I would have settled for a simple proof that she is dead and Mulder to accept it finally. This episode made her look like Caspar the friendly ghost.
  12. Hi, can I play? I binge watched the show when it was already over, so, while I did catch up on most of the discussion over at TWOP over the years, I would love to do a rewatch with concurrent discussion. I also vote for season threads and waiting until TWOP switches the lights off completely. I plan on staying there until the bitter end. Oh, and no, I'm no good a titles. I'm not that witty.
