My sister manages a Walmart. She and hubby have six kids. I don't begrudge them having so many because they work and support them. She has employees who pull the mommy card. Then she points out she has six kids and never leaves early or arrives late. First they're surprised someone who's a size 4 and looks 30 has six kids. Then they shut the f up and get back to work. Her male manager colleagues fall for that shit. She does not. I was reading a column about how people who are childfree get imposed upon at work as if we have no lives. That's not my personal experience, as I've worked with lots of parents over the years who are excellent coworkers. But the mom in this case totally seems like the type. I don't know if she works or not, but if she does I guarantee you she has a million excuses to leave early and arrive late.

I no longer watch JJ, but I think MM is holding her own in the not caring department. I like that she's finally calling people out on their stupidity.

I hated the defendant in the pool case and the plaintiff in the car case. Pool lady just has to get in there how she spent $100k on the remodel so could definitely afford the pool work. The way I see it, she blew her load and was nickel and diming the pool guy. MM is right; she didn't know anything about pools. No wonder the plaintiff bad mouthed her. She's a female dog. If she'd been civil, he wouldn't have ratted her out to the city, too. Expedition lady thinks laws don't apply to her because she has procreated and has an illness. I can't stand people like this. You're in the best state for used car protection and can't be arsed to follow those few steps? As soon as she mentioned her kids in the back seat I knew she would play the sympathy card. Bye, Felicia. I have a coworker who has a four-year-old daughter. Apparently she's the first person in history to have a kid. You know the type. She's late every day because her snowflake has to go to daycare. Never mind all the other coworkers who have kids and show up to work on time. I can't mention anything wrong in my life without her saying something like, "Imagine how much harder it'd be if you had a kid to support." I know how much harder it would be, you insufferable ass. That's why I don't have kids. Anyway, that plaintiff reminded me of my coworker. I loved what MM said to her. Having problems doesn't mean you get a pass on your requirements under the law.

I didn'tget MacGyver the other day, but this FJ was an instaget for me. I guess thats one thing 18 years of Sunday School was good for; I do well with Bible questions even though I'm now a raging heathen.

The second she said Iowa for the Truman question i was finished with her.

It helps to pay attention to the calendar because Jeopardy often ties something into the air date. That being said, I can't believe that was a question worthy of FJ during Kids' Week, much less a regular Jeopardy game.

Response of the day. Absolutely hilarious!

I'm always surprised when an FJ I think is super easy ends up a TS. Wow.

He lived a very long time. My parents 55-year maeriage pales in comparison to his marriage of 70 years. Wow. I did some research and was surprised to learn how long ago Rusty died. Also, Wapner had no love for Judge Judy or Harvey Levin. Made me love him even more.

I laughed way too hard at this. Of course I'm sure laughing hard is also somethihg I'd be hated for by some boardies! If I ever make the show, I'llbe sure to let you guys know so you can show me a little mercy.
-
Agreed. I don't think it's sad at all. She seems happy and well-adjusted. She's also quirky, which I like. I'm happy she won. I got all of the TS's, which is a first for me. I thought it was a good tournament.

Thirded. I'm halfway through my master's degree now. I have taken several Shakespeare courses and still don't like him. I prefer Russian literature, truth be told. I usually get Shakespeare questions corredt, but I'm not a fan.

Not every woman. My partner and I just started talking marriage and we both agreed we'd rather spend our dough on the honeymoon. That being said, there was no indication the couple couldn't afford it, so I don't care what they spent.

MM needs to find some new expressions. I can set my watch to when she's going to break out one of her current faves. The notarized line is used at least once an episode. The dirty pictures one comes up every time there's a case in which some idiot didn't take a picture for evidence. To borrow from another of her favorites, stick a fork in me; I'm done. It's Rodeo break here in Southern AZ. We don't close schools for President's Day, but get a four-day weekend during Rodeo. I don't think I'll ever get used to living here! Anyway, this PA girl doesn't rodeo, so that means I'll get to see some TPC and reconnect with my old friends on the board. Hi, everybody!

I did better during this game than I have the whole tournament, probably because I knew the pop music answers. The general knowledge questions are fine, but when they ask teens or college kids about pop culture they're into, I'm hopelessly lost. Maybe as a teacher I should pay more attention to what my students are into! For FJ, I got the era correct but not the year. I also guessed 1860.
-
No, you weren't. Someone put "music" in quotation marks when referring to rap which is a bit obnoxious to me. This style of music has been around long enough for it to be classified as music. Just because you don't like a style of music doesn't make it not music. But, whatever. I may just be a bit cranky today. For the record, I didn't get most of them right, either. I don't listen to a lot of contemporary music, so most of the names were folks I don't know.
-
I feel the same way about country music that most of you feel about rap, so I can't offer much sympathy when the inevitable complaints about rap music, which I do enjoy, come up on this board! I prefer 80s music to all others, but we probably won't get a category for it during college week. I didn't like Lily the first time around but liked her this time. I don't know if she seemed more relaxed or what. Most of them are board jumping, from what I can tell, so I have to let go of my prejudice about that for the tournaments. I got Havana immediately and was a little surprised no one else did. I tried to do the math, but I'm terrible at math, especially if I have to count backwards across a century. I'm enjoying this tournament, and I'd be fine with any of the contestants winning the whole thing.
-
I like Lisa and hope she continues to win. I like her enthusiasm and think she's genuinely surprised she continues to win. I've had my fair share of contestants I didn't like, so I can empathize with those of you who dislike her, but she doesn't do anything that bothers me. The "so" thing has never bothered me, even though I teach language arts for a living. Of course, now that I've typed that the jinx is on.

He's been sticking in those "blank her, he hardly knew her" comments in the middle of episodes so they're harder to avoid. When I hear it I want to reach through my TV and choke him.
-
That was my favorite part of a pretty good episode. The only thing better would be if someone actually punched Levin in his oh-so-punchable face. Did you guys know he's a lawyer? He almost never mentions it. (eyeroll)

Yeah, her leaving her panties on the floor of her law school apartment wasn't even close to the same as that mess the nasty plaintiff had created. You can't block a freaking window and overload circuits. My father wasn't a firefighter, like the defendant's was, but that's just common sense!
-
The landlord in the last case was one of my favorite litigants ever. She knew her stuff, was prepared, and spoke well. I did not like MM''s dismissal of the fire code issues. The defendant was absolutely right about our litigious society. If there'd been a fire, and there certainly could have been one with that tenant, thet landlord would've been sued. No doubt about it. BTW , long time no see. I'm home sick from work and got to watch an episode for a change. Hi, everybody!
-
I've posted about this before, but will share again because when this issue comes up I think about it. My license plate is a specialty one that says Women Veterans. While I hate it because "women" is a noun, I love it because I haven't gotten a ticket since I put it on my car. I really liked Hardy and was rooting hardy for him. I'm not into country music, but I remember seeing ads for a Coat of Many Colors movie on Lifetime or Hallmark or one of those types of channels, so I got it before Alex finished reading. We haven't had a long-term champ since Cindy, have we?

I think having a problem with being looked at transcends all races. I've seen so many fights over such a silly thing. Maybe I'm an optimist, but I assume if someone is looking at me it's because I look good.

My girlfriend is not usually around when I watch Jeopardy and couldn't understand why after Sherri's first selection, I screamed out, "I hope you lose!" Later in the game I yelled at the TV for the horrible DD and FJ wagers. She thinks I'm insane. I'm glad I have you guys to show me I'm not alone. Philly isn't the state capital, so I knew it wasn't Philly. (Was it the state capital back then? I know it was the nation's capital for a while, but I'm not sure about the state. I know it was Lancaster before Harrisburg. Now I'm just babbling....) Anyway, I waffled between Trenton and Dover and settled on Dover.
