I thought the same thing. Lol.

Thanks for that link, DCALLEY! I learned something new today! I thought it asked for my profession when I registered, but I could be misremembering. As for this episode, Lane pissed me off by slow-playing at the end. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it really does. It screams of bad sportsmanship. I know some would argue it's smart, but I hate it regardless. It's a shame because I was just thinking how much I liked his demeanor as a player. Now I'm not sad he lost. I liked Megan and new champ, Mark, so it was still a good game for me as a viewer. My gets were autumnal equinox, Ellery Queen, and horse. Also, we finally got a German clue. I wish we'd get a category, but I was excited to get a clue in a foreign language I'm way better at than French! I got FJ before Alex finished reading and spent the think music wondering what, if any, wrong responses we'd see. I didn't even think about Hewlitt-Packard, although it isn't a bad guess.

The defendant knew what it meant, too. She was just trying to save face on television by playing ignorant. I mentioned on this board my upcoming trip with a colleague to San Francisco. She has paid her half of the room. I covered the rental car, and she's covering the gas. We'll each pay for our own meals and entertainment. Why all people traveling with friends don't do something similar baffles me. As MM would say, we call those people "litigants."

It's my understanding that their floor is 35/50, so depending on how many you got correct you may still be okay. I was chatting with a former champ on another board, and she said she scored 36/50 on the online test and received an audition invitation. They put everyone above the floor in a lottery for actual auditions, so as long as you have at least the minimum number correct you have a chance of getting on the show. If I don't make regular Jeopardy I'm going to try for the Teachers' Tournament. I'm not sure when they test for that, but I may as well give it a shot.

I loved Liz's story and rooted for her just because of it. Tic Tac Dough was one of my favorites as a kod and introduced me to my trivia game show addiction. The other contestants were fine, too. I enjoyed the game. I knew comptroller was acceptable when I said it and Hannah said it. My mom is a retired comptroller. My gets were reserved powers, 14 points (surprised that went unanswered), train, and FJ.

I love old school rap and true crime, so I'm definitely in!

I'm not so sure how simple that was based on reading this board. A few of us couldn't do it, either.

From what I could tell, I got 46 out of 50, which is the best I've ever done. I'm feeling quite proud but not holding out hope for an audition.

Lothario was a response on Jeopardy tonight, so thanks for putting that word in my head, SRTOUCH! This one was new to me, so that's one benefit to having signal issues over the past few months! What in the world made the first plaintiff think that dude was a catch? Please tell me it's not just the muscles. Guys with muscles are a dime a dozen, if that's the sort you go for. Join a gym and meet a few, preferably ones who won't have you finance a $3,500 engagement ring for their mothers and then give it to a side piece. I wonder if JJ would have awarded the idiot plaintiff anything. I know the law is the law, but I am not a fan of rewarding stupidity. That shit should cost you some money; maybe then you'll learn a lesson.

I wasn't a fan of that FJ clue, but I'm biased because I only could come up with Japan and Jamaica. We've talked about this before, but I really don't like when there's so much to write that if you don't know the answer immediately you're screwed. I can't remember what the answer was the last time this came up, but it was something long they'd have to write. Anyway, my gets were Grapefruit League, mentor, and audible. I'm taking the J test tonight. Good luck to anyone else who is taking/has taken it this time around!

Did I miss something? Why are we discussing Vonnegut? Jack's teeth are a color I can't identify, and I can't look at bad teeth, so I had to watch without "watching." I had bloom and groom, northeastern, and 1788. I had FJ fairly quickly as well. I'm glad Rob didn't win. He was clicking like crazy, took too long to select, and was jumping around the board. I really liked Matt and will miss him. ETA I understand now, Mojoween. I was quite confused for a minute there!

I really enjoyed today's game. We have had a run of reasonable contestants since the champ I won't mention. It's been lovely. My gets were Marakesh, Sox (not slaves, which was hilariously bad even though I considered it too), and Say Say Say. Anything Oscars puts me in Cliff Clavin territory so I'd have bet the farm. I think FJ was really easy, but boardies who aren't into the Oscars will have to confirm. I learned what pH stands for today. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't know that before.

I got my signal back just in time for reruns. Fantastic...

What a nice, pleasant game that was. My OCD was completely happy with the clue selections! I got Elton John (duh), Johns Hopkins after first considering Milton Hershey and then realizing that's Pennsylvania, Oriental, truculent, Chang Kai Shek, LGBT, and FJ in an instaget. I said dachshund for the Rottweiler clue and then laughed heartily at my stupidity.

If I remember correctly, they wanted to discourage contestants from trying for a tie, which supposedly would make wagering more competitive. I loved ties, especially the few times we had three-way ties.

I didn't get spoiled and thought it was cut oddly as I was watching it. I wondered what was going on. I like the airtime rule too, but because it isn't a site wide rule I understand how Sharpie made that mistake. Don't feel bad, Sharpie! Now you know.

It was one brother that wasn't to be buried, but your memory of it is very good! I am happy Laura won again although I do wish she picked faster. My gets were Nina DD, Barbra, mucous, electrical current, pharynx, and thr Channel Islands FJ in a completely wild guess. Was that our first tiebreaker? I don't like it and wish they'd go back to the old way.

Fine arts in general; apparently I'm terrible at classical architecture as well. I'm not great at dog/cat breeds either. Mythology is tough for me, although I did get the Antigone one right. I feel like there are too many freaking names in mythology. I like the stories, but I can't ever remember all the names. I'm very good at pro sports, but I'm not so good at college sports.

I like to say salsa, because people like to say salsa. I never order it in any other voice. But sometimes I accidentally get seltzer.

I got my signal back for this??? Fantastic.

I have no words dcalley. ETA I cannot stop laughing right now!

Ha! I guessed Illinois based on its history of corruption. It was a safe bet, without even knowing George Ryan. My other gets were Dewey, Runnymede, Idol, Ocean, Leona Lewis, Wounded Knee, and Laramie. I teach Antigone to my sophomore English classes, so that was an instaget.

I just posted about Those Darn Etruscans a week or so ago! I miss it too. I have an app that lets me go back and watch old episodes of Jeopardy, and the categories have definitely changed over the years. Some of them stuck around in content, but most of the names are different.

I have lost the channel that gets TPC, and I'm super angry I'm missing a bunch of new episodes. I ordered a new antenna and hope my dvr will be able to start recording again tomorrow. Why couldn't this have happened during one of the 30 weeks of reruns they seem to have? Argh!

My gets were the same as you. I also got FJ based on the year. I like Maryann. It's nice to have an inoffensive contestant to root for. I don't think she'll be around long, but I'm digging her.. I also completely forgot there was a third contestant until he finally rang in. I was watching at my parents' house, ans and we all wondered who he was when he finally rang in. I think we keep getting annoying contestants because they generate discussion and buzz, so I am going to stop commenting about annoying contestants and only mention ones I like. I already know doing that will cut doen on my posting frequency, so it was nice knowing all of you!
