It wasn't a matter of singing the virtues of men doing what they are supposed to do. It was push back on the man bashing that it is rai·sons d'être of the Housewives mileau. I gave Mario's care for his daughter while his selfish pig of a entitled wife slept as an example of something that never made it to air. It is just something to hold in counterweight to the man bashing that is part and parcel of every episode. Sure some the guys do stupid things. But it shouldn't be about them. It should be about the stupid things the housewives do. That's the name of the show after all.

It is funny when you have a run in with a Real Housewive in real life. They are often totally different than how they seem on TV. For instance Kyle Richards, Kathy Walkie and Caroline Manzo were delightful. Theresa, Kandi, Sonja and Ramona not so much. To be fair Bethenny was exactly as advertised. A grade A super duper cu......errr.......you know what I mean. Just sayn'

What you have never hacked a lugie and spat it on the sidewalk? It gets rid of the bad taste in your mouth and clears your sinuses. I guess that is a Brooklyn thing.

I always thought Alexis Bellino was one the prettiest and kindest of all the Housewives. Along with Cynthia of Atlanta and Kathy of Jersey. But once again that is just one man's personal taste. It think the Real Housewives of New York would only leave a bad taste in your mouth. I think this discussion belongs in a different thread about comparing housewives or something. This episode was a time waster that did not advance the narrative. The only thing that was remotely interesting was the appearance of Dennis who should have been wearing a red shirt if you know what I mean. This was just a time filler.

Well I am speaking as one man as all of us can do. Of course your mileage will vary. Dorinda has a boyfriend that so many posting here despise. Bethenny has a guy she already dumped after the season as she will never have a long term committed relationship with anything other than her mirror. Carole is spending this season trying to get rid of her plot contrivance as she wants her space back for more cats named baby. I said "no guy in his right mind" would want to be involved with them. You cited two fame whores and a guy has seemed to carry a torch for decades. Not right mind type guys. Just sayn'

Facts are indeed facts. The fact there is not one woman that any single guy in his right mind would want to be involved with in any way. On other shows there is at least one sympathetic character that you could see hanging out with. Atlanta has Cynthia. Beverly Hills has Kyle and Eileen. Jersey has Kathy. Even Orange County had Lydia and Alexis. Who can you point to on this show? Ramona? Bethenny? Dorinda? Carole the Crypt Keeper? They had those women in Kristen and Heather and they got rid of them. New York is the home base of dysfunctional. Maybe Tinsley can break the cycle. Lets hope.

People do see what they want to see. I see a knock around bridge and tunnel ethnic guy getting the high hat from a bunch of UES snobs. So it pisses me off. He is a dummy. I also see a guy who is getting married and having his wifes so called friends taking bets that the marriage won't last. Instead of putting a stop to it and telling them to screw off. I also see a kid being tongue raped by an aging It girl just to get camera time. Have some respect for yourself dude. Finally I see a guy stepping out of his marriage finally appearing on this shit storm and looking like he is making a hostage video. All to be the date of a woman who can not maintain a relationship as long as a butterfly's life. If you think I am praising them and saying they shouldn't be knocked you are not paying attention. Don't any of these guys have any balls?

I call a guy that does that a fool. A fame whore. A dummy. Don't you get that I am criticizing him and offering him advice as to what he should do? I can guess why he is doing this. He loves Dorinda and is supporting her. Now I bet he thought it is a good thing to get his business on TV and that he wanted to get some degree of fame. But that has backfired every time he tried. Remember the party at his place where the stalker went after Luann and Ramona freaked out? I know many guys who get dragged into stupid shit because of what their wives want. And plenty of woman who get dragged into stupid shit because of their husbands. You especially see that on the Housewives with people like Heather of Orange County and Dorit of Beverly Hills. I am knocking John not praising him. I think he is stupid. He needs to wise up before he totally thrashes his business and reputation. If it is not too late already. Same thing with Tom. He should back away. Not having his wedding on Bravo was a good first step. If they are on for another season he should really pull back. Only make cameos. Not engage. It would be a big mistake to come on to be more of a target.

We all get our information from various websites that talk about the characters on these shows. Different sites each have their own alternative facts. No one site is more reliable than another. We know about as much that is a definitive fact about these people as do about Mr. Spock and Captain Kirk. They are fictional characters who are presented for our amusement. The only thing we can go by is the evidence of our own eyes. Dorinda has been a consistently unpleasant force on the Housewives. She gets her load on and is as nasty as they come. She goes after John. Sonja. Bethenny. All of them. Dorinda makes it nice. Nice and drunk and sloppy and nasty.. Many of her memorable scenes that people cite are with John. Like most of the men on these shows he is there to be a foil and a punching bag. Luckily for him they have decided to turn their venom on Tom. I thought he could be out of the line of fire if he made brief cameo appearances. But it seems that natural one word responses are beyond the pale for some so he should limit even that. I think Tom is smarter. He has said maybe four sentences in two years. Smart man. Don't fall in the fame whore trap. Keep your distance. Smile say hello and then walk across the room and talk to a normal person. If you want to support Luann and give her a storyline that's fine. In fact their relationship is holding up the whole show. But don't have anything more than a cursory involvement in the shenanigans if you want to survive with any of your dignity.

Because she was on camera and she was being a nasty bitch. She did that so she wouldn't look bad. Well it didn't work. Who talks like that about someone they pretend to care about. John should have dumped her then and there. She displayed her true colors. The fact is that she does not have more money then him and he is the kind of guy who will not let anyone else pick up the check. She is the freeloader in this relationship and is selling out their "relationship" to be on the show. The only reason he is filming with her is so she can have a storyline and can film with someone else for filler scenes. Her daughter is too weird and she doesn't seem to have other friends than the ones she is paid to be friendly with on a bogus reality show. John is just one of the fools who is being hammered. Tom is a better example. He might be a cheater. A philanderer. A player. His business is all out there on TV because he got involved with Luann. Big mistake. He has been attacked for two seasons. He has been "investigated" and "casitgated" by women who have all had affairs and cheated on their spouse or with someone else's spouse. So forgive if I take their expressions of horror with a grain of salt. Nothing good comes of being involved with a Real Housewife.

That's just on TV. He is far wealthier than Dorinda. Check it out. I doubt that he makes her pay for everything. He is the kind of guy who picks up the check for everyone. Plus I never saw her pay for anything. I never saw any of the Housewives pay except for the few times that Bethenny complained that Luann ran out on the bar tab. Or the time with the hot dogs. But other than that we have no idea who pays for anything.

That's a problem. That's the truth. Didn't you ever have a friend who was involved with someone you didn't like or respect? Did you constantly harp on it and attack them? Or did you respect your friends choices and leave them to it. Dorinda chooses to consort with people who dislike him for money. To be on the show. She doesn't really stand up for him. If she did he wouldn't have had that dust up with Bethenny last season. In this season he was barely on for two minutes and he is nit picked for one word. Now don't me wrong. I nit pick everything Carole does. But that is because she is a nit wit. So she deserves to be nitpicked. Plus she is taking down serious change for this show so she has to take it. The fact is it tells you something if you continue to be friends with people who disrespect your realtionship. It tells you that those friends or the money they bring you are more important than your realtionship. That is clear. It is clear that Dorinda doesn't respect John either. In word and deed she shows it almost every episode. He is a fool to put up with it. He is displacing his anger toward her friends. His beef is with her. He should run for the hills. He could do a lot better.

I don't know about that. What if he says "P Diddy is the moist famous person I ever met I'm telling youse!"

I don't think that the viewers don't like him because of where he lives. I think the snobby women on the show don't like because of who he is and where he lives. Listen to what Bethenny said about him when they were fighting. I also think that if Hannah doesn't like him that is a big point in his favor because she is a gold plated entitled weirdo. The viewers formed their opinions based on the one sided portrayal of him. The P Diddy case is interesting. He went to John because he had juice. He went to him for help. John is the kind of guy who helps other people. That's his personality. He is a big daddy type. Of course he likes to be around famous people and bask in their celebrity. So he went on this show to get a little for himself. Big mistake. It is better to be in the background than to be out front where people will take shots at you. He just has to realize that he is the type of guy that Andy Cohen and Bravo despise so he will never get a fair shake.

I think this is spot on. Sonja does not put enough value on her favors and it is obvious she has tremendous resentment. As does Bethenny. When relationship after relationship fails you have to realize there is one common denominator. You. Look I think Sonja has been taken of advantage of many times by douchy guys. But she is an adult. She is the agent of her own destiny. She has to take responsibility for where she is. Knocking every single guy on the show is fun I guess but it kind of gets old after a while. There is no hope for Bethenny. She should put in an order for a robot. She has the money for it. The question before the congregation is who in their right mind would want to be in a relationship with one of these women? Especially when there are so many alternatives out there. The stink of desperation has been overpowering this season. It makes the Gowanus Canal smell like a rose bush. Run away guys. Run away as fast as you can.

Boy youse guys are really picky. That's a problem? Seriously? I mean "moist" was terrible and out of line. That was douchey in the extreme. But calling somebody "baby" when you meet them is wrong? Political correctness run amuck. This is why John should not appear on Bravo. That is why no guy in his right mind should appear on any reality show unless it involves duck hunting or driving a truck. It's not for a normal regular guy. You need to be a prancing phony pony. Later for that noise.

It is tough for a guy with that type of hail fellow well met personality to deal with dried up stiffs. You want to see the greeting of dried up dead fish UES douche nozzzles just look at the Bald Brothers Tom and Dennis. They are mayonnaise sandwiches on white bread. I have that problem all the time. Plus there are a lot of people that I meet that know me and I don't remember them even though I am very good with names. So you have to say something when you meet them for the fifth time and you don't know their name and it is too embarrassing to ask. I used to say "toots" put political correctness put an end to that. So now I just call them all "Kiddo." "Hey Kiddo it's great to see you. How is your husband? The Kids? Everything good?" John and I are relics of another time. I guess that is why I support him so much. I have sweated in his shoes.

Wait a minute. Tinsley talks like a baby. She acts like a baby. She dresses like a baby. She squeals like a baby. What else should he call her? Your honor? Madame? Senorita? Toots? If he went "Come you big grown up girl you" .....well that would really be creepy. It is just the way he talks. It's a style. A persona. The big teddy bear of guy who is protective of his girl and her friends. Like he was to Luann when that creep was up in her face. Think of a greasy Kojack. Who loves you baby?

The fact is the men are never ever shown in a positive light. They only pick out things to show them being idiots. They do good things all the time. Charity work. Various acts of kindness and support to their wives and children. I will give you an example. I never cared for Mario. But it has been stated over and over that he was the one that took care of Avery. Got her off to school. Looked after her while Ramona slept. Or Simon who I know was a devoted Dad who was always doing stuff with his kids. An example to fathers everywhere. Not when he wore red leather pants. But he is a role model when he took his kids to park to kick around the soccer ball on a Saturday morning even though he was hung over. Look I don't expect them to feature positive things about the men. I don't expect that it will show up every episode. I don't expect any degree of fairness, context or objectivity. It is just that positive thing never happen. Ever. Of course this is the Real Housewives not the Real Husbands or the Real Families. They should just leave the men out of it. The men should be smart enough to not be involved at all. They make a big mistake when they are supportive of their partners fame whoredom. That is the big mistake John made. He needed to be a silent presence if he appeared at all. I think he is too much of a fame whore himself to do that so he gets smacked around. Fair enough. I think he gets a bad rap generally but that ship has sailed. He needs to be smart. He should not film with Dorinda just to give her content. He should not be a crutch for her when nobody else wants to film with her. They only do those scenes to set John up as a villain. John needs to limit his appearances and interactions to the most perfunctory hellos and then fade into the background. So far this season he seems be doing that. I hope he keeps it up.

Bethenny couldn't abide Simon and Alex and the proto-hipster parents that were at that party. They were part of the beginning of the continuing assault that destroyed the fabric of so many formerly solid neighborhoods. The Italian Salumeria and the Puerto Rican Restaurant that sold the cuchifritos has to give way to the pretentious coffee shop and the place that sells seven hundred different kinds of Olive Oil. The Met Food is gone to be replaced by the Whole Foods where everything costs four times as much. Bethenny is supposed to be a marketing genius but she missed the whole thing. Those Moms were who she should have been marketing too all the time. You see them at the outside cafe with their monster baby carriage and dog attached. They might have kids but they are not giving up partying. The elitists on the Upper East Side are as insular as the Cargo Cults of the South Pacific. It's a joke really. They trumpet political correctness but when they meet somebody darker than Edgar Winter they give them their coat to hang up or tell them to clean their room. They are disgusting people each and everyone of them. Why can't Bravo get some Real Housewives. Not these menopausal morons without a clue between them. Yeesh.

You are absolutely right. But love is blind. Love is deaf. John should run as fast as he can to get away from Dorinda. I know the popular theory is that low class fat outer borough ethnic guy is dragging down the wonderful Dorinda but I submit that it is exactly the opposite. John is in love and he is willing to put up with abuse. He swallows the vile bile that spews from Dorinda when she is drunk. Which seems to be once an episode. He is a fool but he is a fool in love. Love makes you do stupid things. We have all been there.

I have lived in Brooklyn my entire life. Before it was cool. Now many neighborhoods have been infested with hipsters. Bushwick, Bed Stuy and East New York have affordable apartments and hipsters move in and push out the original residents. So the disdain that Ramona had for Simon and Alex is so 2006. I could even see Bethenny getting a Williamsburg flat to flip. There is no poster that I respect more than ZaldamoWilder and some of what she says is right on the money. The husbands that engage get eviscerated even when they are senile old men like Ken from Beverly Hills. I stand corrected that it is only straight white men who get savaged. Peter and Todd on Atlanta also spring to mind. I didn't think of them because I stop watching that show three years ago. It is true that Queens is particularly looked down on UES types like the Housewives. Second only to Staten Island as places that the elite look at as disgusting places filled with disgusting people. You see they only pay lip service to diversity. They wouldn't know it if it bit them in the ass. They are without exception phony elitist assholes. The shame of it is that the Real Housewives of New York could be a great show it they actually showed the people who live in New York. Not the tiny slice of over privileged elitists that are on our screen. John could be the most elegant and refined gentlemen in the world and he would still be scorned because he is from Queens. Not part of the social register. Not from the typical prep school. He is too ethnic. Too straight. Too Queens. Finally how is that so many of these guys get thrashed? Are they are all so horrible? In show after show it is a man bashing festival. There are a lot of assholes out there that's for sure. But aren't there any good guys? Not on Bravo.

Well most jokes have to have a modicum of plausabity.

Humor is a tough thing. Not every body finds the same things funny. Men and women find different things funny. For instance men love slapstick. So we enjoyed Sonja getting slapped with the pirates stick from behind. That was funny. Women like romantic comedy. That's why they love to see Carole on the bike handlebars like it's a romcom. Now if they want to appeal to guys she has to fart in Adams face from all the veggies he makes her eat. That's comedy.

Fair enough. Rough sexual kidding is distasteful to some people. So we can call Sonja a disgusting slut bag pig? How about Bethenny and her choice of words? Did you ever listen to her? I listened to her rants with my own ears. I don't care if people don't like John. But what he has said and done is not out of line with how these women act. If Sonja, Bethenny, Luann and Ramona are the line he is not over it. Sorry this is the Real Housewives of New York not Call the Midwife.
