  1. Just saw this article on a new show that sounds very like the dearly departed Doctor Who Confidential. Except it says it's only on BBC iPlayer. Does anybody know if BBCA has plans to show it online as well?
  2. We have a premier date: Thursday, October 2.
  3. Oooh, I love those. I get them on occasion at Cost Plus World Market (which is really a mouthful of name, but a fun place to shop) especially when they go on sale.
  4. When you mentioned Pimms, my first thought was Pim's which I think you in the UK would call jaffa cakes. Am I right?
  5. Gracepoint will be airing Thursdays on Fox as part of their fall line-up. I have not not seen a premier date as of yet.
  6. We get paid on the 15th (or the last business day before that) and the last day of the month. So we get paid right before rent or mortgage payments are due and then in the middle of the month.
  7. First Broadchurch 2 cast photos. DT has officially left my time zone. Le sigh.
  8. There were layers upon layers in this episode. Character name Riker, Riker figurine, directed by Jonathan Frakes and titled 'First Contact" just like the TNG movie directed by Jonathan Frakes. Leverage was never afraid to be meta. And we loved them for it!
  9. There are also many small companies who don't yet have direct deposit. The employees have accounts but the business still provides their pay in check format. The company I work for actually pays us up to the day we get our check (or cheque) so that technically we are paid for hours we will work later that day, which they couldn't do if they did offer direct deposit. I bank with a credit union and while many larger banks put a one day hold on deposited checks (more if it's a really big check) my credit union doesn't. I have worked for a couple different banks here in the US in the past and we would have employees (especially from industries like construction or yard maintenance) whose employers banked with us come in to cash their paychecks. Since we could verify the balance and signature on the check we would cash them with proper photo ID. Most people I know here would still refer to their bank account as a checking account to differentiate it from a savings account. I still refer to mine that way even though I rarely write more than one check (for the rent) in any given month.
  10. Well, if Ellie isn't married to Joe anymore, SOCO Brian was interested in her. Not that I really want that, but it crossed my mind when I saw he was in B2.
  11. You're welcome. This quote (from this interview) has me hoping we'll see more of Bear next season: I don't know about Bear flashbacks, but I'd dearly love to see Bear surveillance.
  12. I am curious to see if they diverge after the initial episode.
  13. Really it is the involvement of Eros and James in addition to Chris and DT that made me more confident in the quality of the remake.
  14. Right there with you, Kathira. I can say it is better than it was in the little clip of "Rex is Not Your Lawyer", which is a relief. I never doubted his efforts or work ethic, but I still worried a bit. Arrg! i just went back to listen again and it won't play, just keeps saying it is unavailable!! Edit to add: I found another site with a playable video.
  15. fastiller, you're welcome. I, like many of you, am trying to figure out how/when to transition from TWoP. I tend to read a whole lot more than I post but I so enjoy the extra layer I get from Bear's tweets. I figure if I'm already going thru the steps to translate them then I might as well post them for others to enjoy.
