  1. I just watched this episode while wrapping gifts. There were times I could not understand what the heck Amy or Tammy was saying, and I had to rewind and read the subtitles. The whole family, except the brother and his wife, are beyobd crude and rude... and still chastising each other about their language and behavior. Amanda needs to just shut up and ignore Amy and Tammy. She exacerbates a bad situation into worse and then complains about them acting up like when Amy was whiningat the restaurant about Tammy's pain. Amanda sh have just read the menu ans been quiet. She's controlling and a manipulator.
  2. I believe multiple people HAVE explained how insurance works to Whoopi, BUT she refuses to accept the reality because of greed or entitlement or just plain ego in her thinking that she knows better how things SHOULD work. Plus, she had to be ignoring the reality of hard numbers on her medical/ hospital bills that surely would have eclipsed her (and her family's) insurance coverage premiums over the years. It is frustrating that someone who is paid unreal millions, plus untold free perks of clothes, products, and trips, etc., would complain. Bet you she never totaled up what those "freebies" cost in real dollars, because she "deserves" them.
  3. I'm guessing that Joy's wealth and fame and contacts among her wealthy friends will get her whatever meds or medical procedure she might desire or need asap. Which is in contrast to the rest of us with or without insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, etc., at the mercy of health care providers of varying abilities, our preexisting conditions, and all the rigamarole of paperwork, phone calls, and wait time required for getting approved to access necessary care. Thus the economic class reference to her reference about "Everybody's got back pain. " Not excusing her casual, very insensitive comment.
  4. I thought Ana's point was that people who are not American citizens yet and those citizens who are related to them need to start planning a course of action for themselves and their families, in case a forcible exit policy is enacted as promised by the new administration. Federal employees, those on Medicare, social security, as well. That is far from hysterical panicking as Whoopi frames it for those who don't listen to her all-knowing privileged wisdom. I imagine school teachers are also dealing with the anxious, sad fallout of this threat in the children they work with each day. Sure, Whoopi, tell those kids to hold off their panicky nightmares until January 21.
  5. Ugly Christmas sweater? That outdated office party trend? That Whoopi took on to make more $ to suport her family after the fad was over? Early days. It's coming, Haleth, it's coming. Whoopi's got to pay those unfair insurance premiums, you know.
  6. Whoopi has become that relative like "Grandma" in the house that rants on about stuff she only knows half about from tv or friends, or how it was in her day. Someone whom everyone tolerates out of superficial respect, but doesn't really listen to much or take seriously, as they roll their eyes as they walk away from her in midsentence. No offense to elderly. Sometimes it's another younger relative or friend who is known as a know- it- all, or somewhat off-kilter upstairs (in their lack of logic but harmless), or just a general pain in the ass. In my case, it is one brother-in-law, and my brother who fit the bill at times.
  7. Yes, Jo, the Nanny! Wdnt it be great to have a show about constructive communication, love languages, birth order, and therapeutic interventions? Psychology for relationships.....kind of like Cesar, the dog whisperer, but for people.
  8. Dr. Proctor is a damn good looking man, now and in his youth. Wowee!!!
  9. I noticed that also, but especially in the past month. My suspicious mind says that she's trying to obscure the statements of the others who refute her comments, besides reinforcing her point. Perhaps supported and encouraged by producers, which makes me disgusted again with media bias.
  10. Great ideas! Thank you! My church always collects lots of items for Native reservations, new Christmas gifts or old and young, and gently used items like winter wear, plus food items. I was looking at the list today and noticed that they wanted sewing supplies! My biggest priority is to stop shopping. Duh. :)
  11. So I was churning through my own stuff yesterday as I was watching Tim and Eric on DVR. I would love some advice. I have alot of craft crap....yarns, fabric, paper, stamps, pillows, magazines, books, and clothes. All are neat, clean, organized in bookshelves, clear labeled bins or hung up in closets. Clothes are sorted into 3 closets--cold westher, warm westher, and those to alter or too small but I like them and hope for diet to get off that plateau someday and descend. I have alot of interests and since being retired am trying to get to do it all, but progress on actually finishing projects is sporadic. I like color, texture, visual stimulation. Then I get a new idea for crafting and buy supplies. at craft stores or thrift stores... which then I have to organize. This week, I did finish several Cristmas decor projects I saw in magazines-- wreaths, home decor stuff. They came out great and it was fun and challenging. But I realize I don't have room for it all and my house is starting to look junky. I don't have family nearby to give it to. Any suggestions?
  12. Eric, the guy whose wife Szilvie died in the home of cancer, was super sad. Grief is neverending. He is very lonely too. He needs therapy bigtime for his hoarding and involvement in another daily activity to keep him busy. Bros sh step in and do stuff with him. He cd go to Senior center for socialization. There wd be so many others he cd share his grief and physical issues with there too, in informal conversations. They get it. Also, if he owed so much on credit cards, where is he getting $ to shop and rehoard? More credit cards? Vultures. Eric had a great Sam Elliot voice, though. I really liked listening to him.
  13. Tim. The worst personality I have seen bec he was so passive aggressive, arrogant, petulant towards everyone including his "fragile" wife, Wilhelmina. He was gaslighting her about her illness (?), which was also obvious depression symptoms and reinforcing her symptoms with isolation as well. Classic emotional abuser actions. Trying to convince others that he was protecting her and demanding they not interact with his sweetie. Sure, Jan. I think he He broke her with his hoarding and possessiveness and domination. She kept saying that "She can't change him." I was yelling at the TV, then you need to change yourself and get out. But she's been brainwashed that he cares fur her. Poor lady. The show afternotes said Tim regretted the whole process. I bet he did, cuz he wasn't in control keeping his precious outdated, dirty crap. Code enforcement sh throw the book at him and do a forced clean out, and put Wilhelmina in assisted care or with that niece(?), who also had big time issues.I hope niece got help, too.
  14. I liked Rachel's honesty and her youthful viewpoint. She wd be a great addition to the table. Frankly, Sara is nice but she doesn't add much.
  15. Amanda is a bully. She's smart and can wear someone down by talking forever, as Chris said. Rationalizing her own heroic generosity to reach out to Tammy. Yeah, right. I think she manipulated Amy into fighting by not leaving her alone when they were in Florida. And then Amanda acted like the injured party. Amanda was doing the same with Tammy on the 5k training....offering an olive branch? BS. She wanted to grt Tammy going to argue. If it's producer driven, then that's messed up too. If Amanda wd have started out with Tammy by saying, I'm sorry. You're my sister and I don't want us to fight anymore, " then Tammy may have been more open to making up. For her part, Tammy wasn't ready and could have said, "I'm not ready to talk about it yet", and walked off, as I'm sure Amanda wd have persisted which is tiresome. I guess they have a history of squabbling as their mother said, so that's just the way they are.... just two family members who don't get along. Keep them separate or have a deal that they don't talk to one another at family get-togethers. Or keep it going for reality TV. Amanda came on late to this show and In think she's jealous. I bet the whole famdamily was very surprised that Tammy and Amy... the 2 most dysfunctional members.. started making money and getting attention online and then tv.
