And I agree with you about the new hosts. I'm sure they were cheap compared to former co-hosts, but they are not exciting to watch at all. I don't see the show lasting too much longer unless they make some major changes.

First week without Osbourne, and CBS looks like it gave up on the show. They didn't even spend money, time or effort on a 'new opening' with just the remaining four hosts. As I said weeks ago, if CBS brings this show back without Osbourne (as they did) they will probably finish off the remaining few months of the season and be done with it. I doubt they will invest in a permanent replacement, or any other money into this show.

  2. They better have VYD on Monday's show! I need more leggings, teeth whitener, truffle oil and readers for this week. Not to mention skin care to make me look 20 years younger, and reusable eco-friendly straws.

She is a VILE Human. In so many ways. I’m surprised they kissed her ass for so long, glad she finally got canned. I’m off to watch the show now.

I don’t even watch this anymore. I only like Carrie and occasionally Sheryl. They need new cohosts. These new 2 are terrible. No personalities IMO.

The show has been horrible since it premiered 11 years ago. It was horrible when Osbourne was on it, and it's even worse with the 2 new hosts who have the personality of  dead caterpillars. The show was at the bottom of the ratings heap before they joined - I can't imagine how much further down the ratings can go with these two on.

And Carrie Ann's shtick of crying every time she talks has gotten old very fast.

  4. Let's see, this week Carrie Ann and Sharon are both missing from the panel which leaves us with Sheryl, Amanda, and Elaine for one of the dullest hours on television. And Amanda being the 'announcer' in the opening foreshadows the boring hour ahead.

Speaking of the hosts, why do Amanda, Elaine and Carrie Ann (the few days she's there during the season) sit at the edge of their seats, with their legs in a wide open-scissors cross? They look ridiculously uncomfortable.

  5. Thursday's show was so good with Chelsea Clinton on as a guest. She really 'grew up' before our eyes (those who remember her as a 'tween' in the WH) into a beautiful, educated, polite, professional woman...unlike someone else on the show.

How I wish they added her to the show instead of Sara Haines last year. I would love to see Chelsea and Meganutz go at it in HT.  And every now and then we could hear Chelsea reminisce about her living in the WH for 8 years, and turn to Meganutz and say, "Too bad you never had that experience." 😄

  6. Quote

I was a huge Whitney fan growing up.   I don't recall Black America ever feeling she wasn't black enough.  She was played on Black radio, her videos played non stop on BET, and she was on the cover of every Black focused magazines, etc.

I must've missed the context of the Idris Elba discussion, because it sounded like the same criticism of Houston years ago. My apologies.

Not to go too off-topic, but read Robyn Crawford's book on WH (aside from being her girlfriend, she was her manager at the beginning of her career - until she married Bobby Brown).

  7. Meganutz keeps reminding us how she's pro-military and comes from a staunch military family. Has anyone else noticed of all the friends and family members she refers to, not one is female ? Can it be no women in her very large military family ever joined the military ?

As for the discussion on Idris Elba not being 'black enough' on the show Luther (and if you haven't watched Luther yet, I encourage you to do so!), Whitney Houston went through the same accusations 35 years ago with her first two albums. She was criticized by many, and then changed her image and her direction in music. So this has been going on for a while, unfortunately.

Why would they bring up those comments?? She's still married to him and it was a joke... If she doesn't have a problem with what her husband said, what is there to talk about? And Meghan McCain didn't say anything about Rosie O'Donnell, she merely talked about how comedians made fun of Aiken back in the day when he was still closeted.

That was a joke ? I never heard that it was a 'joke' - what a horrible joke at the expense of his wife who has a history of mental health issues.

As for Meganutz and Clay Aiken, read my post again. She was comparing Colton's story of coming out with Clay Aiken's story and saying how 'similar' they were. Not true at all.

Colton was never publicly 'outed' by a host on 'The View' like Aiken was, back in January, 2007. Meganutz said that Aiken was 30 years old before he came out as gay. (Aiken was born at the end of 1978, so that would put him at December, 2008 at the earliest of when he came out). Rosie outed him nearly 2 years earlier.  Colton and Clay's coming out stories couldn't be more further apart.

They apparently have a good marriage for 20 years...something not always seen with Hollywood couples. I assume that’s why the panel “gushed” so why would any interviewer bring  that up? I thought it was a nice interview.

It's part of their marital history. Douglas made that very public a few years ago.

I was pretty disappointed that the show's coverage of Colton coming out didn't mention that his ex from the show, Cassie, put out a restraining order against him because he stalked her after their breakup (including putting a tracking device on her car!). It's really great that Colton has reached a point where he can be honest about his sexuality, but it's irresponsible to gloss over what he did to Cassie. I worry that it will be regarded by the general public as just a mistake that stemmed from his own discomfort with himself, instead of what it really is: a crime.

And yesterday, with their CZJ interview they kept gushing over her marriage to Michael Douglas, yet never brought up the fact that he once claimed he got throat cancer for performing a sexual act on her (which embarrassed her to no end when he said this). How can you gush all over them and ignore what he said ?

actually, just after the incident, someone put together a video of Kelly Ripa Licking regis Philbin's shoe, and a bunch of other things proving she is no germaphobe.

The background story was that Clay was being tried out as a possible co-host, and Kelly R did NOT want him (she wanted her husband to get the job)  so she made it clear by interrupting him, and taking over parts of interviews that he was supposed to do. she knew if they had bad "chemistry" he wouldn't get the job.

This was early 2007. It was Ripa and Regis' show. They would stay together on the show for another 5 years. Clay was a guest host because Regis was out that day - no one was trying to 'get the job' as co-host; not Aiken nor her husband since the job wasn't open.

But back to Meganutz - THIS is when Clay Aiken was officially outed as a gay man, thanks to Rosie. So his story is quite different from Colton's 14 years later. Stop trying to compare the two - there is no correlation.

  11. How did I know Sara was going to bring up her brother during the Colton Underwood segment, and how did I know Meganutz would bring up her BFF Clay Aiken, as well ?

And a note to Meganutz - Uncle Clay did not come out on his own at the age of 30.

Rosie O'Donnell outed him (intentionally or not) on 'The View' when she was the moderator in 2007, when she decided to start a feud with Kelly Ripa.

For Meganutz who needs a reminder:  Clay was cohosting Kelly's show with her, and at one point he covered her mouth with his hand so he could talk to a guest. She was furious and told Clay don't ever do that again, because she has no idea where his hands had been (she's a notorious germ-a-phobic).  The next day Rosie said on 'The View' that what Kelly did was 'homophobic' to Clay, and she said Kelly never would've acted that way with a straight man.

And that was the end of any questions anyone still had over Uncle Clay's sexuality. Way before he came out on his own.

Sadly though there are murders every single day.  The View isn't really there to cover every news event.  I am seeing a lot of adverts for a special that is going to air about someone they describe as America's most prolific serial killer.  I had never heard of him.  If I saw any coverage of this before I don't remember it.  My point being there are murders every single day.  Even chilling serial killer murders get lost in the neverending news cycle.

Again, yes - there are murders every day.

But I'm focused on what Sunny said - she's afraid every time her son Gabe grabs the car keys, because there's a chance he will become one of these statistics shot by the cops. What I'm saying is whenever he grabs the car keys, he can also be a victim of a carjacking by two teenage girls with a 'stun gun' and also have a fatal ending. Yet she's not talking about that (and yes, carjackings happen every day - so she should be worried for Gabe).

That's a term, like skinny bitches, that Joy and other women of her age (which is my age) use instead of, well, other, more colorful words. Most of us realize that.  Just me?

I believe men her age (78-79) grew up using the word 'darling' and 'honey' as well (it's a generational thing)  - but doesn't that make it degrading to use those terms in 2021 ?  Again, if it was a male her age on TV using this term to refer to a professional woman, I don't think he would be employed by the network much longer. I think if a man her age called a woman a 'skinny bitch' on television, he'd be fired for that, too.

Also, random car jackers are not charged with protecting and serving the public. Perhaps ABC could block about 5 hours per day to report on every crime that occurs in the country? Maybe that would satisfy those who feel slighted by all the coverage of police brutatlity and murders by them of unarmed black people.

The driver was not just car-jacked, he was murdered. Murder is murder - it should indeed be covered, and Sunny should be worried about it.

ALSO - Did everyone hear Joy refer to the middle-aged female police officer as 'Darling' ?  Can you imagine if a male talk show host referred to a female cop as 'Darling' in their coverage of the incident ?

Agreed. If Sharon couldn't be respectful and listen to her co-hosts while she was employed there, she would've been even less respectful and less likely to listen now her goose has been cooked. Good riddance to her.

That's why they needed to air this particular show on March 11, and not April 12. Sharon needed to be there - not Carrie Ann.

Statistically Sunny's son Gabriel has a much higher chance of being murdered by a police officer than he does being carjacked.

Statistically, yes. But the possibility is still there  - wrong place, wrong time like the poor Uber driver and his survivor.

I think Gabriel has an even higher chance of dying in an auto accident by a drunk driver, or a texting driver, etc.  Sunny can't spend her days worrying about everything as soon as he grabs the car keys.

  17. 12 minutes ago, heysmilinstrange said:

But crime happens every day; should Sunny bring up each incident? Should she simply stick to crimes that happen in New York, or does it make sense to list every violent crime that happens in the US? What about the rest of the world? Where do you think the line should be drawn?

Police brutality against Black men (among others) in this country has been a major news issue at least since the George Floyd protests, and a relevant news story for a lot longer. It's not at all odd to me that a show like The View is focusing on it.

Carjacking by two teens with a stungun doesn't happen every day. Sunny mentioned this morning she's even worried about her son going to the car wash. This could happen to him there, too.  I'm curious why they are ignoring this on the show.

Sure, Meg, let’s blame the Dems for the lack of gun control legislation. I don’t know what Tim Scott’s bill says, but if Uncle Lindsey and McConnell endorse it, it must be terrible. And Barbara Eden wants her Jeanie ponytail back.

I'm curious - if Meganutz hires a nanny at home, or a babysitter for the night, or invites an overnight guest, or anyone into her home with any children at all - does she worn these people that she and her husband 'have a lot of guns in the house' like a responsible citizen is supposed to do ? I doubt it.

BTW, I liked the intro today....when they were discussing the police shooting of the 20 year old, they had the somber piano music playing. As soon as they mention CZJ as a guest, the hi-n-rg music kicks in and the verse 'World's gone crazy...I'mma go change the view'.

Sharon Osborne had a chance to defend herself on March 10.  Instead she took the opportunity to be nasty to Sheryl on air and then conduct a media campaign against Sheryl, Gayle King, CBS and Holly Robinson Peete.  Leah Remini called Osborne out live & direct --ole Sharon didn't have squat to say to Leah.

We heard her voice and her truth on March 10.

Carrie Ann wasn't even there on March 10 and Amanda had nothing to do with the situation so why would they be active participants when Sharon was nasty to Sheryl (and Elaine)?

Perhaps the details of that complaint are the real reason Sharon got shown the door.  Be careful of what you ask for; Elaine just might "speak her truth" and Sharon will come off looking worse than she already does.

"Tell me about it" --Meghan Markle

Sharon wasn't 'defending herself'  on March 10, she was defending her friend PM for his behavior on his show. As someone pointed out, not different from Sheryl defending Lopez. This show should have been broadcast the day after this happened, with Sharon still there. Not a month after with Sharon gone.

You're right about Carrie Ann and Amanda. They should not have been part of the April 12 show at all - it should have been Sheryl and Elaine, since they were hurt by Sharon.

And again, if Elaine is going to mention a hundred times that what's been said in the media is not true at all, then for God's sake Elaine - tell us the truth ! It's your moment in the spotlight, your turn to be 'heard' , your turn to tell your truth. What is it ?

I'm confused by the idea that Sharon should be there to defend herself. She was essentially fired. She's not going to be there to defend herself.

This show should have been presented the day after - on March 11 - while Sharon was still with the show. Air everything out and let their 'truths' be heard. Not on April 12, a month later and Sharon fired. (Again, I'm no fan of Osbourne's, but this was handled horribly yesterday).

Mr. Amwar’s death was a tragic murder.   But he was not murdered by the police.   He was murdered by criminals who happened to be teenaged girls.   Those criminals are in jail where they belong.   While the police.....    So I’m not sure if the analogy is apples to apples.

Sunny is fearful for her son because her son is often in similar situations as the other gentlemen mentioned.   Sunny’s son is not an Uber driver and while I’m sure she and Whoopi share the general disgust we all share about senseless crime in this country, she might not relate this story directly to her son.

You don't have to be an Uber driver to be carjacked by teens with stun guns. Any driver - including her son - can be in that driver's position. It's too bad they have yet to give Mr. Amwar the same respect. A heinous crime which Sunny the prosecutor hasn't mentioned, though anyone in her family could suffer the same fate.  JMO.

  21. So the moral of today's 'healing' show was 'talk about one person all you want so long as she's not there to defend herself'. Brilliant ! What a way to heal and move on. As much as I don't like her, I will say it again - Sharon needed to be there so 'her voice could be heard' and to 'share her truth'. She wasn't, no one mentioned 'her truth' or 'her voice', but this is how you heal. SMH.

First guest Dr. Donald Grant came across as 'Oprah' on the show. He sat back and egged them on - Sheryl and Elaine - to talk about their willpower and enduring strength, to 'let their truth be told', to let their voices be heard after the 'wrath of Sharon'. Amanda and Carrie Ann sat on the sidelines like spectators. Elaine kept saying this was the 'first time' the truth could be told to knock down the false spin in the tabloids (from Sharon) but in the end she didn't reveal any truths. Did she and her hairdresser go to HR that day and file a complaint of racism against Sharon? Her voice wouldn't tell us.

After Donald 'Oprah' Grant came  Dr. Anita Phillips. Since Grant was the Oprah of the show, Phillips turned into the Iyanla Vanzant on the show and took everybody to church at the end. She even pulled an Iyanla when she had the hosts sit across from each other and stare into each others eyes without saying a word so they could 'know one another'. Elaine and Carrie Ann seemed to fall in love, and didn't want the moment to end.

So everyone got to speak their truths and find their voices by the end of the hour, and we learned how to trash someone who's not there to defend herself. Because that's what healing is all about.

  22. I'm no fan of Boehner at all (never was, never will be), but kudos to him for holding his own with the panel and not back-pedaling on any of his past behavior. He stood by his past actions, he stood by his claims in his book -  I appreciated that, and I think Whoopi and Joy did as well.

As for Meganutz ass-kissing (she really hopes that little DC restaurant keeps that dinner on the menu - the one named after him!) , I could've done without it.

As for Whoopi and Sunny, they were understandably very passionate about the young black man who died, and the active military man being pepper-sprayed. It was horrible to review these stories - especially about the young man who was killed for no reason. I'm sure they share that same passion for the 66 year old UberEats driver Mohammad Anwar, and the events of his death. I mean Sunny reiterated today that she is constantly worried about her son Gabe, and what can happen to him behind the wheel of a car -  I'm sure Anwar's death frightens  her even more.

PS - Congrats to Meganutz today for looking 'somewhat' normal !

  23. CBS has been running promos for the show's return this week. The promos are billing 'The Talk' as a talk show covering "Deep Issues" and "Big Topics".

    Bwahahahahahahahaha! Are they kidding ?

'Deep Issues' and 'Big Topics' are the last words to describe this show. Unless you consider the latest Hollywood gossip over Arianna Grande, Justin Bieber and The Kardashians as 'big topics' and 'deep issues'.

If they're trying to refer to 'racism' as 'deep issues' and 'big topics' - sorry, CBS. The panel couldn't handle such a conversation when they approached that on March 10. The whole show toppled over, embarrassed it's hosts, and went off the air for a month. That is why this show is barely watchable and sitting in last place - it can't handle anything out of it's comfort zone which is trash talking Hollywood celebrities.
