  1. That was actually Samantha, in season 8. And in her case, Kelli's question was actually, "Your curves are natural, right?" and Samantha voluntarily said no, but even Kelli thought it looked natural on her.
  2. I feel like her year was one of those where there were a few standouts - Holly, Megan C, Amy T, Robin - and then a ton of people that either struggled or blended. And that year they only took 34, and Kat, Raylee, and Simone were struggling more than her at the end. I just think that looks didn't play into that year's decision. (I actually don't understand why people don't like her look - I think she's very girl next door in a relatable way.)
  3. My list would be the exact same minus Maddie. She's a fabulous turner - her changing spot a la seconde turns in her Season 11 show group auditions were fabulous - but she doesn't have good extensions, both in terms of flexibility and her lines (knees specifically). I don't know enough about the rookies to put any of them on the list.
  4. Not impressed. Not only are her leaps low, she only hit the full split on the center leap and didn't hit 180 on either of the other leaps, her back attitude wasn't turned out on the calypso, and all of the leaps accentuate the fact that she has very short, muscular legs. And for someone who has a fair amount of leg muscle, she doesn't have much strength in her ankles and couldn't stay on releve during her turns. She ended her pirouette a quarter turn early after hopping on a flat foot for the final turn and basically fell out of her a la seconde turns - thank goodness the choreography allowed her to "hide" that. There are so many beautiful technical dancers on the team they could've had do this routine a hundred times better, why didn't they choose one of them?
  5. IIRC, it wasn't so much that Kelli thought she was crazy for making it, but more that she felt Savannah couldn't be disappointed for not making it. She was comparing Savannah to Jalyn, because Jalyn didn't make it back to SG and Kelli said she couldn't handle it well while someone like Savannah could smile through it because she didn't have a year of experience. Haven't watched season 14 in a while though, so I may have misread or misremembered it.
  6. I feel like the fourth girl down is just a smidge late, along with a girl further down. I also noticed that some of the girls are on releve and others are flat footed - anyone know if the DCC stick to one technique or the other for single kicks?
  7. Good God. I didn't realize that we knew which numeric sizes corresponded to uniform sizes, but that really puts things into perspective. Those ladies are tiny!
  8. OMG thanks for finding this! I've been wanting to rewatch season 13 forever but couldn't find it anywhere. They really should add it to Pluto, it aired two years ago.
  9. How old is Maddie? And Tess? If I remember correctly, Sydney tried out when she was 18, so even by her seventh season she was only 24. Jenna and Lacey were also 18 when they tried out. Aside from Jinelle, I don't really remember anyone staying for more than four seasons who was on the older side their first year (relatively speaking obviously).
  10. I have nothing against Maddie - she's not my favorite, but I also don't dislike her - but I really hope that she doesn't stay purely for ProBowl. She's point (kinda), first leader for group 1, ProBowl won't add much to her cheerleader resume IMO. I just hope that she can recognize that she has accomplished so much with DCC and it's not worth staying for another year and putting herself through so much stress just for ProBowl.
  11. I didn't realize their hairstyle and color became their decision after their rookie year. Interesting. It makes me wonder about the girls that do choose to change their hair, because obviously many of the girls stick with whatever they were assigned during their first year. Are those girls just more confident in themselves? Do they go through K&J when making the decision? At least out of Mackenzie, Amy L, and Rachel A, I think the shorter hair suited them much better, so go them for making that decision!
  12. I don't think I've seen these linked here yet, but a few new videos have been posted to the cheerleaders' website. Lexie did a hair tutorial and Madeline did a makeup tutorial. https://dallascowboyscheerleaders.com/hair-tutorials/lexies-gameday-hair/ https://dallascowboyscheerleaders.com/makeup-tutorials/hair-flip/ Personal opinion, I've never loved Lexie's hair because it turns into one big ringlet at the bottom and is just teased with zero curl on the top half. Now I know why - she uses a curling iron that's really narrow considering the length and thickness or her hair and curls right to the tips and completely brushes out the top section. Personal preference, but I think several of the other girls style their hair much better. (I've also never liked the color of her hair, but I know she doesn't have much control over that.) Madeline's tutorial was pretty good - and I'm a sucker for Morphe shadow palettes. 🙂
  13. The brunette behind Rachel does not have a pretty chasse position. Reminds me of Kyndall a few years ago, she's gotta "start kissing her feet together and making them look prettier." Everyone else
  14. That's what makes me also think it might be Gina's last year. That was a serious injury and, while this year won't be as bad without a kickline and jumpsplits, she still runs the risk of reinjuring it, and if they're going back on the field next year it would be ten times riskier for her to continue dancing with DCC. I would hate to see her go without being point, I love her as a dancer, but it might just be the smartest decision for her.
  15. So confused about this pandemic Thunderstruck. Unless I missed something last year, they must have filmed the parts with Rachel W at point this year, and even the section with Maddie at point in the first half, since that was Amy's last year. So why is it safe for them to film this, sans masks, but not safe for them to do it at the actual games? I'm also pretty sure I saw Khalyn and Kashara in there, and they retired after the 2018-2019 season, so if they are happy to use footage from the last two years why put the ladies at a higher risk just to film more? Especially if they aren't even going to show this year's rookies? It also wasn't cut together very well - several times the dancers were a quarter or half count ahead of or behind the music, and that's just due to bad editing. Who put it together? The fact that VK was featured makes me immediately think K&J, but I know they wouldn't let the timing be that off so many times...so who?
  16. She was trying to do inside spot changes and it just looked a hot mess, because she didn't stay on the beat and whip her head to the new spot properly. I've seen several girls do outside spot changes throughout the years for their solos, but I think the only one I remember doing inside spot changes was Maddie in show group auditions back in 20216 (at least on the show). You have to have so much control and be so clean with your movements to make those look decent, and Lisa just doesn't have that. She also could not stay on releve for anything and doesn't have the flexibility to do the illusion turn she tried after the fouettes. No bueno.
  17. Same with Alexandria, even though she basically only stayed for the squad photo and bounced right after.
  18. On the topic of Taylor P, I just watched a clip from last year's show where Kelli mistook Taylor for Victoria. She was all, "I don't mean to be biased but Victoria is so clean and powerful and I love watching her!" and Judy corrected her saying it was Taylor. Just goes to show that Kelli really is biased if she thinks that any tall blonde who dances well must be Victoria.
  19. Hey, CS major here, I'll redesign it for them if they give me a 100% honest interview with K&J (and then I'll use y'all as a test group and spill the tea on the website for you, then "forget" to take it down before publishing so the entire world can know how crazy management has gotten). Seriously though, there are so many problems with that website that could be fixed so quickly. Heck, just editing the HTML in my browser window can fix some of the issues.
  20. I had a couple of thoughts on the touchdown decks that could potentially help. 1) I realize that they're slippery, which caused some of the girls to mark some of the moves, but you could either custom manufacture the boots to have better tread on the bottom or just attach an insert so the bottoms are more like tennis shoes. With their training, they would still be able to do turns, but they would have a little bit more grip and could kick and dance with more confidence. 2) Just stagger them in two lines! A couple of the dances posted had them get into two lines anyways, so just make that the default formation. Put the rookies in the "back" row and vets in front, and then the rookies would be able to see their vets a little better and know when to start the dances and have a guide if they forget choreography. 3) Don't put the GL2s at the end of the line. I understand why the GL1s are in the middle next to each other, so they call the same dances for the entire touchdown deck, but with the GL2s at the very end even they, as experienced vets, will have trouble knowing when to start and end the dances (Victoria was clearly having problems with timing in those videos). That also forces two vets to be on the edge, which could cause rookies to be next to each other and not have vets to follow. If the GL2 was in the center of her group, then she'd be closer to the GL1 so they would be more in sync, and it would allow for better vet/rookie alternating. Just my thoughts based off some of the issues I saw from those videos and some raised by y'all. <shoulder shrug>
  21. How many fans will really want to take that risk though? I may be biased, but I don't think most people would want to go to a game in person if they know there won't be any attempt at social distancing. I know that I wouldn't go, knowing that the management would be fine with having the stadium entirely full.
  22. Do we know when the first episode will be aired?
  23. I know there was some talk earlier about there only being two groups, with Maddie and Tess as GL1s. But I don't think they would demote Lexie or Gina from 2GL to give Caroline the spot, which makes me think there are still four groups. In that case, who do we think the other 2GLs are? Assuming Maddie, Tess, Gina, and Lexie have the GL1 spots. I still can't decide whether Savannah will get a position...so my guess is for Rachel A, Amber, and Savannah/Ashlee/Rachel W.
  24. Kind of off topic, but looking at that video of Emma made me realize something: in the past 10 years, basically every single redhead has either been fabulous, weak (at least in most people's eyes), or had a major story. 2011: Emma - fabulous dancer (who didn't get enough air time!) 2012: No new redheads 2013: Rachel - tore her ACL the year before and had to withdraw; Courtney - veteran cut the following year 2014: Breelan - weak dancer, veteran cut the next year 2015: Holly - fabulous dancer, 2017 DRAMA; Stephanie - basically the only one not in one of these categories 2016: No new redheads (unless you count Milan, who went red briefly in TC, in which case she quit the team partway through the next year) 2017: Savannah - weak dancer 2018: Jalyn - fabulous dancer, drama of not making SG her second (or third) year; Hannah - fabulous dancer, veteran cut this year 2019: No new redheads I wonder if any of the new 2020 rookies will go red/continue the trend????
  25. Interesting - on all of the versions of the episode I've watched, they blurred out the contract aside from the circled line about association with players. So I'd never seen those other rules. Also, I don't really believe that this is their contract. It's not nearly detailed enough, there would be several more rules associated with association, uniforms/gum/alcohol would be part of a "prohibited actions" section which would have way more than 4 rules, and I really doubt that there would be a "general" section with just two rules. And that the general section would be the very last in the contract. Thoughts?
