  1. Yeah, national TV is a great way to keep this kind of thing under wraps. 🙄 Glad to see I wasn't the only one who wanted to rip this woman's eyes out. And to @Brattinella's point way back, yes, the daughter was an adult. (JJ seems to play fast and loose with the "is 20 an adult or child?" thing). And maybe could have been more attentive to watching a puppy. But there are sooo many other dynamics at play here, the bio egg donor was way out of line seeking punitive damages. Very emotional case.
  2. A thousand times this!
  3. Didn't see this one today, but so glad she ruled in favor of the landlord. Very rare for her! And once again, if some of these people spent half as much time working as they do studying ways to misuse the system, we'd all be better off. IMO. YMMV. From Crazy's recap: I thought this was hilarious. So clueless.
  4. In this day of using "proper identifiers" and political correctness, may I object to the number of times the show referred to the biological parent as the "Mother." No. Bio mom, bio parent, bio mother are fine. But a true "mother" is the one who got up every night to feed and diaper, kissed scraped knees, studied spelling words, bathed feverish foreheads, was Brownie leader and slumber party host, and on and on and on. end of adoptive Mom rant/soapbox Regarding this woman - ugh. Her child is sooooo much better off. That woman is BSC. I agree with Judy on this one - you don't adopt a puppy and then leave. Sad, unfortunate, and maybe the daughter could have been watching more closely. But to sue for all that crap? Sheesh. Way to permanently end what could have been a relationship. I think the bio mom really didn't want it, and this was just a way to put the last nail in the coffin. Poor girl. No telling if she really does have an abusive adoptive family, but sad that she's lost an important part of her life. We are having a baby shower for my (adopted) daughter in a couple of weeks, and her birth mom and aunt are attending. Lovely woman, whom I adore. Will be awkward, since my family hasn't met them before, but the more people who love my daughter, the better, in my opinion. I'll be sharing "our" daughter, but the day is about her, not me. Sigh. Thanks for letting me rant. Saw the blurb about the fatal car accident, but didn't see the episode. I can not imagine.....
  5. Um, hello?! Halloween? Black and Orange? Come on. Surely it was a holiday inspiration?! 😂🎃🎃 But I do remember thinking it was a striking (and dare I say, almost attractive) color combination with the turquoise skirt! Hooray for color TV!
  6. Was I the only one who, when Judy called up the boyfriend to ask a question, thought the question was going to be, "When were you incarcerated?" I really thought that was what she was going to ask. And yikes. Four kids, and two sperm donors in prison. (Not just "jail!") I did love that the SSMOF clarified that the pot on the table was taken with the child's cell phone. Grandma - take a copy of the episode!!
  7. Yeah, the line for that is queing up... I'll save you a spot.
  8. And they had a gender reveal party, right? Did I hear that? So there would had to have been some doctor info somewhere to obtain that information. The whole business of not having any medical info with her was most troubling. Very scary girl. From a few days ago: Beyond idiot. We need a new word. All kinds of stupid.
  9. This is one of those infamous cases everyone remembers, and ALL have the same reaction to. Yikes and more yikes.
  10. Didn't see it, but perhaps JJ realized this guy has a real chance in the world, so wants him to be at the top of his game in all instances. Most likely, defendant is a lost cause, and JJ knows it. Sounds like a good ep. Sorry to have missed it.
  11. I saw both these episodes yesterday. That has to be the largest single collection of IDIOT, stupid, JJ contest-igants ever assembled in one hour. Pain and suffering for a bum car? When you could have checked CarFax BEFORE you bought it? $3500 to bail out a very busy and very proficient (if stupid) criminal/boyfriend? (who happened to look about 12) The tenants with the dead/dying/already dead grandma? At least PRETEND to get a story together before you come on the show! And I really needed a score card to keep up with the gem who owns a car but titles it in any any convenient female's name. Criminy! Today's not much better. I completely agree. Lovely young woman, who probably has a lot to offer, but maybe a little growing up to do. Hopefully.
  12. Yeah, this bugged me, too!!! I used to think that landlords going on JJ would at least let them recoup from the screwy renters who stiff 'em (since winning in real life rarely comes with any $$.) But so often, when there's trash, and the landlords clean it up, or make the repairs themselves, they get the "you didn't pay anyone to do it, so you don't get any money" speech. And the toothbrush speech, as you mentioned! No way to predict which side of the fence she'll fall on on any given day/case. Arbitrary arbitration...
  13. I THINK they said they were from Texas, in which case this is not completely correct. Students take the "graduation" test over and over again until they pass, or opt to get their GED. (We still have some taking the test from 3 versions ago (about 10 years). My guess is that Def wanted extra accommodations that student may or may not have qualified for. If he was entitled to them the first round, he should have gotten them, and would receive them in subsequent attempts. Hard to add accommodations just because he didn't pass. If he did NOT get them the first time, and was supposed to, then yes, he'd have access to them the second time (and Big Ugly Things could happen to the school for denying him access.) But that does not guarantee passing the test. Students still have to do their part. And for today's Educational Education Moment: "504" is a federal classification under the ADA. In Texas, it often includes things like dyslexia and ADD/ADHD. Special Education covers students during school-eligible years, while 504 is life-long. I had a student who had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Her condition did not really affect her LEARNING, but affected other areas of her life: frequent absences, difficulty writing, concentrating, etc., and so we could offer some accommodations in the school setting as a result. https://www.ncld.org/archives/action-center/learn-the-law/understanding-section-504
  14. Exactly. I think that's a big point. It may also be a moot point, because even if the horse was actively fleeing a bear, I don't know that the def. would win. Somethings are just accidents, wrong place/wrong time, and then, well, bummer, dude. More alarming to me is the fact that the Plaintiff/Mom was hyped about her car being wrecked, and completely missing The Big Picture, which HRH tried to point out, but which I think Plaintiff still didn't get.
  15. Plaintiff's comment: "He should know that by going to the dog park it is possible that his dog will bite someone." HUH? Run that by me again?! I needed a baseball glove to catch my eyeballs they rolled so far back in my head. 🙄
  16. Yeah, what was up with all that?! As for not questioning the brat, what happened to "You know how a teenager is lying?!" rant?? Although, the woman suing for $5000 seemed a little odd, too. And this took two years?! Boy, I was all primed for the 6 Dauschunds case! I just KNEW it was going to be one of my favorite types - the kind where one side says nothing at all and wins! And then zowie! Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory! But I'm with @Byrd is the Word on this one. Yes, they made money. Yes, they knew about the dogs. They never really got to present any evidence as to what the damages were once Her Honor heard how much they made. Maybe they WOULD have been owed something - at least hear them out. 'Specially when they are low to the ground to start with!
  17. So just watched the party planner/married to incarcerated dreamboat case. I smell a whole lot of "We'll just get Judge Judy to pay for it!" planning in addition to the party. (Wedding, right?! Blech!) Def, says in the hallterview, "She deserved to be paid, and now she has been." Yuck and yuck. That makes her rank right up there with Kelly Bay of Pigs, IMHO. Stupid AND conniving.
  18. Eeeewwwwwww. Brain bleach, please. Not sure you meant that the way I read it, but eeewww. No JJ for me today. We have rain instead. Guess what?! Street flooding! Bayous rising! Cars stalled in all the usual places! Idiot anchors standing in the rain to show us it makes people get WET! I think I actually recognize some of that footage from the last time it rained.
  19. Missed this one, but would have loved to seen that look! Agree it sounds like wifey made him appear in order to be publicly shamed. Snort!!! 😂 Amen!
  20. She HAD already decided, since she told the lady, "You are NOT getting the money!" - assuming it was one of those cases where someone sues for the value of the POS junk car, rather than the car itself. "I don't want the car, Miss Judy. Just the money." And then lo and behold, another "Conract" appears. Interesting case in that is was different! Not around here. "Free" they'd be there a week later. Put "$50 or best offer" and they'd be "stolen" before the paint on the sign was dry. Gee. Just how many times can I use "quotation marks" in one post? 🙄
  21. I love watching Phyllis. She looks so much like my dear great aunt. Sounds like her, the way her mouth moves and speaks is JUST like my aunt, even her firm, yet loving manner. I especially like how Phyllis often seems at first glance a little curmodgeony, and then in the next breath is the step-in-front-of-a-train-for-you person you can't live without. I hadn't notice her resemblance to my aunt in Lark Rise to Candleford, but it is a dear little glimpse of someone I loved every time she's on the screen.
  22. What kind of batshit nonsense was that? Some guy leaves his little kid with a woman who doesn't even know the kid's name?! With that dog?! "I haven't seen him or his child since The Incident." Well, no $hit, Sherlock! Thank goodness for small favors... Ha! Post of the Day award!!
  23. Little Toes used to call those Hurricane trees. Gee, wonder why... 🤔 FINALLY JJ gives someone a well-deserved boot! I found everything else about the case boring. And the other episode - a to be continued?! Blergh.
  24. Hey, now, some of us resemble that remark!! Hee!! I grew up in Kansas, and you are exactly correct about that particular shade of green!
  25. Down here on the coast, its hurricanes that get our guys goin'. Four or five months of "Hot and Humid" 20-second weather segments, then zowie!! DAYS of hurricane coverage! Oooh, aahh!! All y'all stay safe up there! We probably won't even get sprinkles. Missed the show(s) today. But, really sounds like I didn't. REALLY glad I missed the suit over lawn furniture. Just ugh. Nice to have you back! We've missed your snark. I'd bet there's another "litter" lurking somewhere.... /shudder
