God, Catie really bombed both songs tonight. Even without messing up the lyrics, she was just terrible. I was expecting, like all the other weeks, that she would schlump her way through the mentoring session awkwardly (check) but then blast one out of the park with a surprisingly lovely vocal. Not this time. Wow. And her wardrobe was just awful for both songs.she really needed Stacey and Clinton from What Not to Wear tonight.

It is so weird you would say that. While watching the Carrie Underwood video, I was thinking, “she was another cold fish”, LOL

Maybe puking, LOL...she did describe feeling a little sick while singing due to nerves.

As beautiful as Jurnee is and as good as her voice is, she is like a cold fish. When she smiles while singing, the smile stops before it gets to her eyes. Whether it is stage fright, shyness or something else, she never really seemed to be comfortable on the stage.

I said this in the chat but I will say this here too because I am really curious. I wonder if, over the course of 11 or so years since her surgery, with all the snacking and eating of bad foods that she has admitted to, whether she has not stretched out her stomach somewhat. I don’t know anything about bariatric surgery except for what I was able to glean from this show, but she might possibly need a “refresher” surgery if that is ever done. I understand she is emotionally eating and is also a food addict so actual hunger may not even be a factor, but her stomach might have stretched quite a bit and maybe that is another reason why she is struggling so badly.

The comments about her strange shape and skin removal surgery are probably correct. I am not sure if she had surgery on her legs, but I would guess that her scars are not as flexible as the rest of her skin, and so as she has gained weight she has taken on the appearance of a water balloon wrapped with string. If she lost the weight she would probably look less weird.

I like this counselor.

Dr. Now was probably surprised to see how emotional she was. I get the feeling she has been mostly pretty controlled around him. Poor thing could hardly breathe and talk.

Her dad looks as young as Melissa.

The hits keep on coming for this poor woman.

Dr. Now maybe should have put on a sport coat. That tracksuit makes him look like an 80s rapper.

It’s her cheeks. It looks like she has ping pong balls under there.

Dr. Now must be barely 5 feet tall. Christina was a head taller than Melissa, but Melissa was several inches taller than Dr. Now.

I wonder if with her weight gain since the surgery if she has stretched out her stomach again. Maybe she needs a redo of that surgery.

Maybe she needs a session with Dr. babyvoice.

I chose to listen to Ada last night instead of watch her, so that I wouldn’t be distracted by all the visuals of her persona. Yes, her voice is powerful, but the quality of it isn’t very pleasant. She sings in this ridiculous soprano that reminds me of when the guys from Monty Python play women, or when children imitate opera singers. Unless she surprises us next week and does something more soft and nuanced to show a different quality of her voice, I will just be hoping that she is voted off soon.

I agree with the Michael love. He has such a sweet energy. If I ever met him I would feel the urge to hug him. He seems like a beautiful human being.

I was kind of hoping that Marcio really brought it this week, but after that amazing, relaxed and joyful duet with Allen Stone, he really missed the mark in his last 2 performances. Despair was written all over his face and it was so hard to watch.

Looks like America and the judges got it right.

I don’t know what the big deal is with Cade. His voice isn’t all that great and if he didn’t have his guitar he would be lost. Worst of all, every time I look at him I am reminded of Weird Al Yankovic.

Yeah, I edited my post after looking it up to be sure. All these seasons start blending into each other. ?
