  1. I figured that he felt that having her stay with his friend, it would be much less likely for husband to find her AND it would be good for the older lady, too.
  2. re: leg surgery woman - earlier this year my mother had hip replacement surgery and the surgeon opted for a spinal (not for addiction reasons - there's a possible family history of malignant hypothermia). Granted, she also got something that knocked her out so that she couldn't hear what was going on, but if a spinal anesthetic worked for an operation where they saw off part of your bone and then hammer in a replacement ball, it should have worked for the leg surgery. She might have opted not to have the whatever knockout drug, but she still should have not had to have the pain. And if there was some reason for not using a spinal, that should have been part of their discussions of what they could do for her.
  3. Not going to lie, I teared up a bit when Mike told Frank "she's not heartless, she's heartbroken."
  4. On the one hand, I'm really going to miss this show. On the other hand, that frees up my Tuesday nights - the only reason I was watching network tv on Tuesday at all was so that I didn't miss this.
  5. I believe that was a shrimp.
  6. I'm going to assume that it varies from state to state, but in my state, the biological father must sign away his rights or have them terminated for the adoption to go thru. Now, I'm sure there are ways around it - claim that you don't know who the father is, something like that; but here the father knows that Becky is expecting and that he is the father, so he would have to agree to the adoption as well. But since Becky wasn't even considering it until the couple suggested it, I doubt that she even thought that far.
  7. I know the show exaggerates things. but I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell that she would have been allowed to compete in the paralympic games without thorough vetting. A big part of her physical therapy at the treatment center she went to involves moving the muscles in a way that is similar to the way that they "should" move, partly to retrain them and partly to keep the muscles from atrophying (this is what I gathered from viewing the website). Also, she's been walking again for a year or more now, which would also build those muscles back up. Also, it is entirely possible to swim without the use of your legs. It's not as easy, but it's possible.
  8. If both partners agree to distance themselves, it can work. However, from what we've seen, that's not going to happen with Bryan any time soon. And mommie dearest strikes me as the type to insist upon moving to wherever it takes to stay close to her precious love of her life.
  9. Ahh, but "win it all" doesn't necessarily mean getting the guy. It means you get to be the next bachelorette, or at least a trip to paradise.
  10. I got the impression that it wasn't so much that they couldn't prove who did it - it was that he claimed the sex was consensual.
  11. I've said to my husband, after giving him a nice, vigorous back scratch: "You'd better hope I'm not found dead in the next few hours or so. Your DNA is under my fingernails."
  12. The one that was on here wasn't about a hunting accident; it was a case about a young girl who was killed when she walked in on a robber. They were able to catch the killer due to a strand of hair and a fingerprint from the victim on a cd case that had been stolen from the girl's room. They also had a strand of hair from the killer. The guy they arrested tried to shift blame to one of his brothers - because the mitochondrial dna from the hair would have matched all his siblings. At the end, I didn't catch the whole copyright, but it didn't look like 2015. However, it was an episode that I hadn't seen - and I didn't know any of those still existed.
  13. I don't know if anyone is reading right now, but I just checked our channel guide and it says that the "Cause of Death" (relabelled "Forensic Files") episode airing at 7:30 pm central time (in about 20 minutes) is a new episode from 2015!
  14. I haven't watched this one yet, either - but if the phone records were for the O'Hare's, and the phones were actually contracted to the American Atheist organization, the AA's could have given the info to the investigator and reporter. Don't need a subpoena to access your own info.
  15. That Khalood woman was indeed insufferable. Did she actually ever take any responsibility for spending that money, or ever express any real remorse - other than for what might happen to her once her husband found out? No, she went to the casino because she was depressed, she was upset, she didn't like her son-in-law, all her friends' daughters were having babieeeeees, boo freaking hoo. So, apparently it wasn't her fault. Did she ever tell her husband that she was sorry that he wasn't going to be able to retire as soon as he wanted to? I don't think I could have been as even-keeled as he seemed to be about it; unless he's making other plans and we're going to be seeing him on a future episode as a perp . . .
