  1. This came off as a mix of Real Housewives and Love After Lockup -- totally weird, OTT and a probable trainwreck but I'm here for it.  Also, I have pretty much dumped all the RH shows except for Dallas so I need a RH to watch.

I'll be honest.  I was working while watching so I really can't tell some of the brunettes apart.  Except Jen.  She is extra.  She annoys me.  But her husband and sons seem very grounded.

Mary is pretty gross.  Anyone who marries their stepgrandfather (ewwwww) should probably not judge anyone else.  On anything.  Ever.

    Heather seems down to earth.

I don't know why but I kinda like Whitney.

I've never been to SLC so I'm hoping to see more of it.

  2. Heather is nuts.  I think she wants Dylan back in prison, where she doesn't have to worry about Aunt Diane or other women and can be the only female in his life.  I hope he gets away from her and gets his life straightened out -- because if he stays with her, his best option is returning to prison.

I wanted to smack the shit out of Destinie or Destinee or however she spells her name.  (I like the poster who used Density, far more appropriate).  Yeah, Density -- it's not worth getting your shit together because now you have to pay for what you did in the past.  First, how exactly have you gotten your shit together?  You're not working, you're not contributing to society in any way or atoning for your crimes.  Secondly, you don't get to walk because you're so, so sowwy.   She might have made a better impression arriving more than THREE MINUTES before the start of your hearing and dressing in a bit nicer outfit that hides your horrible prison tats.

Shawn is a fucking moron.  He and Cabbage Patch Sarah would be a great match because they're both idiots.  I'm trying to understand why Shawn is so enchanted by this tatted up Oompa Loompa.   I hope Shawn's baby mama kicks Density's ass up and down the street next week.

I feel sorry for Kristianna.  LAL is making Dubuque seem like an absolute drug-infested shithole.

So season 12 is in Atlanta.  They already did one there.  Is there a reason why they can't do some on the West Coast?   I just checked and the farthest west they've gone is Chicago and Dallas.

I can't answer as to why they haven't branched more out west pre-COVID but I'm going to guess they returned to Atlanta because there is a lot of filming and production there and, perhaps most importantly, Georgia was one of the first states to reopen during the pandemic.

It's absurd to think you'd get such a text and not keep it. That you would confront someone with such a damning text and not show it immediately. Even while she was denying she thought he was gay she still suggested it by letting him know there is nothing wrong with being gay. Its certainly wrong if you marry the opposite sex knowing you are attracted to the same sex.

The people who picked Henry and Christina to be matched should be interrogated (possibly waterboarded) . It must have been the opposites attract theory of match making. Is it really that difficult to match people with similar goals, values and philosophy of life? Couples can and should have differences on peripheral matters but huge matters like kids, politics and religious beliefs (or lack there of) are nearly impossible to overcome differences of opinion.

Olivia and Brett, Christina and Henry were non starters from the very outset. They didn't even share a belief in the existence of God, kids or how to handle finances. Its not a secret that finances are a major reason marriages fail even among people who otherwise love each other. It wasn't a surprise that Amani and Woody would have the potential to be a great couple. They were simpatico on the big ticket items.

In this particular season I'm in the they set up couples for failure camp. Its like lets make a deal...sometimes you get zonked.

The thought of Dr. Pepper, Dr. Viv and Pastor Cal being waterboarded has me laughing.  I know it's wrong but I'm still chuckling.

The problem with the matches isn't the opposites attracting (or not, as it were) but their goals being vastly different.  On paper, Henry and Christina may have seemed a good match if what they wanted was similar and the "experts" believed that Christina's extroverted personality would bring Henry out of his shell and compliment him.  (And honestly, I don't remember what either of them were looking for.)   But Brett and Olivia wanted very different things.  Brett wants a family sooner rather than later; Olivia isn't sure she wants kids at all.  That's a difference that simply can't be overcome (nor should it be.)  Brett would rather own a home in a less-trendy part of town while Olivia would prefer renting in the locale she wants.  Olivia prefers going first class while Brett would rather be frugal.  As I've said before, neither are wrong in their desires.  And while some couples can meet in the middle -- there are plenty with one saver and one spender -- they never would because they basically annoyed the shit out of each other from the get go.

I'm glad the "experts" got on Olivia's case somewhat because while I did see Brett trying to be affectionate with her, I never saw it from her end after the wedding.  I also think it's somewhat disingenuous of her to play the victim card with Brett being the villain when she's now admitting that she was turned off from Brett fairly quickly.   I understand why she was or might have been turned off but don't act stunned/upset/hurt/etc. by his leaving when the door has been closed, probably permanently, for weeks.

I did note that when the "experts" were getting on Olivia's case, her neck was super blotchy.

Christina really fucked up with Henry.  I think he's a good guy who will make someone an excellent husband.  He was pretty loyal to her, even when she was doing him wrong.  And even on Decision Day, he didn't totally throw her under the bus.  I have a feeling he could have said a lot more.  It sounds like he was told at the wedding reception less than flattering things about her which probably already skewered his opinion of her.  I think had she not acted like Henry was batting above his pay grade with her and cut such an attitude with him and the camera crew, he might have been able to start with a clean slate but between that and finding out she lied about where she lived, going out for a "walk" until after 1 am, forgetting his birthday and then, finally, the alleged gay text, it was too much.

I'm happy that I was so wrong about Woody.  I thought he would end up being the biggest dog there but he is clearly head over heels with Amani.  They are a great match.

So too are Bennett and Amelia -- although I think their quirkiness would be exhausting.  I did appreciate that Amelia dressed like herself for Decision Day and not like she was headed for the meat market afterwards.

Miles and Karen are doomed because Karen is just not into Miles.  If you can't even kiss after deciding to stay together after four months together, you should probably throw in the towel.

  5. I don't really understand the halfway house system but could Kristianna not be placed in a halfway home that she had not escaped/run from half a dozen times before?  Maybe there's a pattern here and it's not helpful to have her in the same place with people she's bought drugs from, sold drugs to or done drugs with?

I actually kind of believe Lindsay with that "letter."  It wasn't addressed to anyone.  I really thought that Scott was going to find where she had been communicating with another sucker.  And I really didn't need to visualize Scott and Lindsay getting down and dirty on the floor, with  her leg out the side while her ankle monitor was being charged.  No, thanks.

Shovel needs to remember that Quaylon went into the pokey when he was 17 so he's not going to act an adult now.  He shouldn't be getting a one-way ticket to Houston with no definite plans to return.  Isn't he on parole?  How can he do that?  And who's paying for his ticket?  Shovel's daughter is adorable though.

I really hope that Dylan doesn't get into trouble again, does not return to prison and stays away from Heather.  He is so polite and nice to her aunt -- and you know Aunt Diane was freaking out over the parole officer being there.  Did the PO arrive right after they left or is Heather driving out of state to a hotel/motel?  If they were only going to get a hotel room, is there not one within 15 minutes?  I was actually nervous for Dylan last night, that he would be sent back to prison because of Heather's irrational, childish ass -- although I guess that's one way to get away from her.

Destinie is just vile.  Shawn's an idiot but it's annoying to hear her complain about him when he put up her bond (stupidly), he pays for her to live, he paid for the flight to CA, he paid for their hotel room and he was paying for her gambling and drinking with her sister.  He even is probably paying for the phone that she refused to answer.  If he wasn't such an idiot, I would say he needs to get his name off her bond, get his $5k back, repo his credit cards, the cell phone he gave her and kick her skanky ass out.  She treats him like shit, she's not attractive, she has zero prospects for her future, she's only working at drinking, gambling and hooking up with other women so why exactly is he so determined to hang on to her?  Oh yes, let's not forget she also goes batshit crazy when his baby mama calls about their kids.  She was totally high when he came home to find her in the hot tub.

  6. The biggest takeaway I took from this episode was:  where is Pete?  How did they manage to erase him from the tip meeting and final dinner?

Second takeaway was wondering why Malia couldn't be bothered to hang out in the galley to help Kiko but somehow had all the time in the world to assist Tom.

Sandy should have given Malia a certificate for being the best chef #2/sous chef on the boat.   I guess she was a decent to good bosun  -- when she was actually being a bosun.  Once Tom arrived, she was always in the galley.

Even if their relationship wasn't totally toxic, Rob had already told the engineer guy (Dave?) that he was going to do the crossing.  So he shouldn't have gone back on his word, if nothing else.

Aesha is probably a great stew because she's generally happy and excited but she's always SO happy and excited over everything, I'd probably want to smack her if I actually had to work with her.

Bugsy is a great chief stew.  She's always pleasant to the guests, always smiling, she's encouraging with her crew and gets stuff done.   She should hang on to Alex.

I did laugh over hearing that Malia and Tom broke up.  Karma's a bitch, isn't it, Malia?

  7. I was very much Team Olivia in the beginning but now I'm more Team Brett.  I think Olivia was wrong to go visit her family when the city was in lockdown and she works in a hospital.  Brett's fears were justified.  I thought for sure the preview before this episode was a red herring and he was going back home because he was going to quarantine or because of Olivia's job.  I think she was wrong not to go with him to his house during that week she had off.  It would have been the perfect time to really look at his house and reassess -- no camera crew there, no pressure to feel/act like you have to love it (since he already knows she wasn't totally on board) and more time into the marriage.

Regardless, he did the right thing.  As another poster mentioned upthread, their goals were/are entirely different.  That's going to be a relationship killer.  Brett wants kids and fairly soon.  Olivia isn't positive she wants them at all.  Brett wants to own a home.  Olivia prefers renting in a more desirable neighborhood.  Brett is a saver.  Olivia prefers to spend her money on experiences.  Neither is wrong but they are simply incompatible.

Miles needs to just get out of there.  Karen hasn't felt him or the marriage from the start.  She should have just left and not married him.  He's trying so hard and getting next to nothing in return.  I know that sometimes feelings can change/grow in a positive way over time but you can't even see a seed with Karen.  Miles deserves better.  Maybe Amani has a friend?

I wish I had Amelia's spunk/nerve to just decide to cut my hair and give it a whack!  I think she looks great with her shorter hair.  It's probably a smart compromise to have Bennett split his time between Richmond and New Orleans, at least for the foreseeable future.

As others have said, Amelia and Bennett and Amani and Woody are handling this "experiment" just right.  They discuss things openly and maturely, while enjoying each other's company and learning.

ChristinA is just ridiculous.  Who goes out for a walk dressed to the nines and doesn't come home until after 1?  Even if she were meeting "friends," the city is on a lockdown!  Honestly, this is why the virus spread and we are still in a pandemic.

I still think Henry is a good guy.  I'd be hurt too if my spouse, even a MAFS spouse, forgot my birthday.  And forgot my birthday while quarantining with me during a pandemic.  Sheesh.  Pastor Cal can miss me with his comments that Henry can change his personality.  As a former painful introvert, it's not that simple.  And he shouldn't HAVE to change his personality to fit ChristinA.  Why isn't she being told that maybe she should change her personality to fit him?  Neither one should.   They weren't a great match to start and I think her demanding personality, combined with her multiple stories about where she lived, turned him off from the start.

Bennett and the one square -- did he say that to Jamie?  If it was on the show, I must have zoned out.  In any event, if your toilet paper is running low, or you're worried it is, at least use washcloths!

  8. Honestly, I can't believe Brett hasn't packed up and  moved back to his house in the wrong neighborhood.  Olivia is just exhausting.  What exactly does she want?  Brett says he's being sincere.  If she chooses not to believe that, with no evidence telling her otherwise, that's on her.  If Brett is kind, considerate, affectionate off-camera, exactly what is she complaining about?   I'm not a Brett fan necessarily but I did notice that while watching the wedding video, he had his arm around her and she kept her hands firmly in her own lap.  I liked Olivia at first but as the weeks go by, I like her less and less.

I feel the exact opposite about Woody and Henry.  I figured Woody was going to be an absolute disaster and he really seems in it to win it.  Loved how Amani said he was extra.  Ha ha.  They both really seem to be enjoying their time together, while learning about each other, compromising, communicating and not freaking out over every damn thing.

I like Henry more and more each episode.  He does seem to be coming out of his shell.  The problem is that Christina doesn't listen, at least not to him.  She can't read a room.  She also flip flops -- she tells her friend that she's basically going to peace out then tells us that she is starting to really appreciate Henry.  Which is it?  Seems to me that Christina may like the bad boys.  Regardless, what she's chosen for herself thus far has not worked out.  Maybe give Henry a chance and appreciate him for his differences instead of seeing that as a flaw.  I wouldn't hesitate to date Henry.  He seems kind and loyal.  And he really hasn't said anything negative about Christina per se, just more his concern with her attitude and impatience.  Christina may be sarcastic (i.e., her comment about the good old days before they met while looking at wedding photos) but again, read a room.  It may not be the right time to make such comments.

I agree with a poster upthread who said that Henry needs to step away from his female friends.  They will do their best to make sure any relationship he's in won't last if they get the chance.

Bennett's tarot card reading friend is a loon.  The "drama" with him and Amelia and her residency continues to be fake news as far as I'm concerned.

Karen and Miles are boring because it's the same wash, rinse, repeat when it comes to Karen.  One week it's one step forward, the next it's two steps back.  It must be agony for Miles to see how happy Woody and Amani are.

Looks like next week we may have some legit drama, which is good because this episode was fairly snooze worthy.

  9. Man, that scene with Brittany's mother really should not have been filmed.  Addiction should never been entertainment.

Angela remains a complete dipshit.  We'll see if Tony breaks into her Casa de Cigarette while she's running around after Ross in Indiana.  I can just imagine the stench in that place.  I think Angela is keeping the tobacco farmers in North Carolina going.

I'm still gobsmacked over Lacey's friend making the comment last week about how if Lacey has a child with Chane that it could be another child she's caring for by herself.  Who are the other kids she's caring for by herself?  Because it seems like it's either her dad or Chane who are doing any kind of childcare responsibilities for the other three.  And how on earth did Chane and Lacey come up with 25k for the IVF?  I guess being a webcam "model" pays well.  Or maybe Lacey is cutting back on the fillers?

I have zero sympathy for Cabbage Patch Sarah.  No one likes an angry Cabbage Patch, Sarah -- especially when your ridiculously accented anger is misplaced.  Malcolm has done nothing to you.  Your psychiatrist has done nothing to you.  You can yell and pitch a fit all you want about how much Michael sucks, how lame he is, how you're DONE, and how tired you are from parenting two kids on your own.  Well, do something about it.  You know, like first, DON'T HAVE ANY MORE KIDS WITH THAT POS MEALY MOUTHED LITTLE LEPRECHAUN.  Secondly, get a damn divorce already.  Getting a divorce has zero to do with whatever custody battle you think will happen or Michael threatens you with.  He would never win and plus, you've got plenty of negligence on film from this shit show.

So Raine's birthday party is starting in 4 minutes and no one is there?  Where are the kids?  Where are YOUR kids, Cabbage Patch?  You scream about how you never get a break but this is the second week in a row we've seen you sans kids.  And why does Michael need to meet Malcolm before the party?  That's just stupid.  Let his leprechaun ass inside and then just intro him to your boyfriend or "boyfriend" or whatever and don't make it into any bigger of a deal than it is.  God, she's dumber than a box of her own hair.

Andrea's kids remain smarter than Andrea and Lamar combined.  Does Andrea have any storyline other than flip flopping on California vs. Utah constantly?  If you hate California so much, then go back to Utah.  You can take Priscilla and Nyla since they are still minors.  Drugs are everywhere, unfortunately, so it's not a California thing but there is definitely a difference in culture and lifestyles.   Does Andrea or Lamar work?  Maybe if one or the both of them had a J-O-B, small things would annoy them so much.  And Andrea, your two teens should NOT be sharing a room (that's what it looks like.)  Put Priscilla and Nyla in a room together and let Tennyson have his own space.  Where does Priscilla sleep?  If she's sharing space with her parents, that shouldn't be happening either.

Henry on Unfiltered: " I think in general, she's (referring to ChristinA) just annoyed by my presence." 🤣Henry DOES have a dry sense of humor. He can be quite funny.

Henry's fat childhood seemed to have scarred him and may be the root of his lack of self-confidence, which he himself said. He still sees himself as that fat little kid, who was perhaps bullied. I don't think his garrulous, loud mouth Dad helped matters as he was shown being pretty obnoxious at the wedding and cracking jokes at Henry's expense. ChrstinA hasn't shown one iota of empathy; she basically said in her TH after the exercise that she doesn't understand why Henry is holding on to these issues at almost 35 and should get over it. She wants a confident man? Henry's not it. These two are a bad match.  Henry should perhaps consider therapy although I did find it interesting that he more or less has accepted his lack of self-confidence and doesn't consider it a top priority to improve upon as his wife would like. It's too bad he isn't more self- assured as imo he is quite good- looking and seems fairly intelligent as well, with a dry sense of humor. He could be something of a catch.

I actually think Henry is a greater catch than Christina.  When I was younger, I always went for the "bad boy" type.  Now I can see the appeal of someone like Henry, who appears to be kind, thoughtful, respectful and loyal.

To me, the fact that Henry has accepted how he's wired is a form of self-confidence or self-assuredness.

  11. Christina just can't stop herself from screwing shit up.  As someone who suffered self-esteem issues for YEARS after my teens, you don't just "get over it."  If it were that simple, no one would have issues, Christina.  She should have commended Henry on moving through it and encouraged him to continue to move through it.  She should have brought up that Henry is an intelligent, thoughtful and loyal person -- all wonderful qualities.  She knew he had confidence issues so why did she sound like once Henry admitted that was his biggest hurdle, she was out?    And then to say lack of confidence was her deal breaker?  Girl, really?  You have to be intentionally sabotaging things because no excuse otherwise.  I mean, at least say unclear conversation, loyalty, trust, fidelity.  Any of those would work fine.  (And I'm guessing all of her previous relationships were with "confident" men and look how those turned out.)

Bennett was really a great friend to Henry in discussing the confidence thing.  He always seems to know exactly what to say.  Christina needs to learn how to read the room.

Karen is exhausting.  I think I'd feel bipolar if I lived with her.

Olivia is an absolute killjoy.  She always seems pained, as if she just had a root canal.  Brett may be no prize but at least he's trying.  She was all on board for his sarcasm and wit at the wedding and now suddenly she can't stand it?   Bad move on the experts' parts to match someone who is more touchy-feely and into PDA with someone who clearly has no use for it.  I don't think Olivia would have been any more receptive if Dr. V hadn't been there.

The bartending thing should have been fun.  Maybe instead of being competitive, Olivia could have told Brett why it's her favorite drink or helped him with his?  Honestly, they might as well have been two strangers making the drinks side by side.  She was more excited about the drink than I've seen her about Brett since the honeymoon.

Woody and Amani will be fine, as well Bennett and Amelia.

  13. Maybe I'm just old school but I have the professional mindset that, being a supervisor, my employees don't see me drunk.  At all, much less fall down drunk.  But clearly it doesn't work that way on BD.  Bugsy should be embarrassed -- and so should Malia.

Speaking of Malia, has she forwarded her mail to the galley yet?  When does she have time to bosun?  She is always in the kitchen, helping Tom.  I've always thought that out of all the crew positions shown on the BD franchise, I'd least like to be the chef because that position never seems to truly get a break but you would think one of the stews might be a better choice to lend an assist.  Or someone else on the deck crew but not the bosun.  Sandy should be all up in her grill about that.

I get Tom being frustrated over Musselgate.  If he serves frozen mussels and the guests gripe about them not being fresh, it's Tom who is on the line about it.  I get that his reputation could be helped or harmed by being the chef on one of these yachts.  But he was an utter dick to Aesha for no reason.  She didn't ask for the stupid cucumber and she was following protocol, which I assume is to notify the chef.  I could just imagine Kate ripping Tom to shreds over that comment.

It's already been pointed out but I also agree that Aaesha is homesick mostly because everyone on this crew is pretty much coupled up -- although Aesha was coupled up her last season -- and it's no fun to be the third wheel.

Otherwise, this episode was pretty dull.

Off to the news to see what's up with Pete and his appearances/nonappearances.
