Maybe the EC served its purpose two hundred plus years ago. How do we get rid of it? That's my other point of anxiety. I don't know what to do.

The electoral college, after all, is enshrined in our Constitution, which means getting rid of it requires a constitutional amendment. That's a two-thirds vote in both the House and the Senate and the ratification of three-fourths (38) of the 50 states.

  2. Did they ever explain why the corpse was photographed??? Why would Chuck and Martha want to keep damning evidence of their crime?

ITA the hair and makeup for interviewees has been awful lately.

  3. Maybe it irritates the sweat glands? I have always been wary of Nair because my skin is sensitive, but I see nowadays they have a milder formula for the delicate bits. Might be worth a shot when this burn heals. The problem with laser is someone I know said her hair grew back! Seems expensive if you have to keep redoing it. Maybe her experience was rare though.

  4. WTF! Six weeks to see a urologist for a kidney stone he's already had 3 weeks? That's no good. I hope they are at least giving proper pain meds and not "take advil". I'm sorry he's going through this.

Sounds awful.  Use tea tree oil.  Either the oil itself or an tea tree oil ointment.  It treats everything (antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal, antiseptic, and more) and it will also help with your ingrown.  When I started waxing, my wax lady (don't know the official name, lol!) swore by it, and she was right.

Thanks! I think that would be too much for the burn but when it starts to heal up I will look into the tea tree. I had no idea it would help with ingrowns! I have used TendSkin and it works well, too.

Yeah laser hurts. I'd say it's about the same level as waxing, but instead of 100 at once you feel every single hair being blasted. There is numbing cream you can use, highly recommend it, and don't skimp!. But after 6 sessions I can count hairs on my lower legs on one hand, armpits clear. Bikini could use one more. Laser is will also discover hairs on you that you didn't know about, did not really think I had hairy toes but she blasted those away. I think that hurt more than anything.

Yikes! But still, it might be worth it just to not have this damn bikini line anymore. I don't mind shaving my legs and armpits, but dayum the bikini line is a nuisance. Thanks for the info, I will look into it.

I've used diaper rash cream, the thick white stuff (Penaten, but I think they are all similar). It really helps red angry skin. Of your skin is actually broken then probably polysporin.

I got laser treatment over the last year because I was tired of the red skin and ingrowns, best decision ever.

Thanks! I got a zinc-based diaper cream. Pretty goopy but it is very soothing. Did the laser hurt? I've been wondering if I should just get it all zapped off...

Sorry to hear that. I second something medical like polysporin or maybe something suitable for burns.  Once the initial pain subsides, I recommend careful treatment of the area with light moisturizers and that which rebuilds the skin moisture barrier. Aloe vera, products with honey, ceramides, products for super sensitive skin types or post-peels. Only use these kind of products for at least a month since you need to heal that area. Good luck!

Thanks, I will look into something that's for post-peels and/or aloe-based, once I don't need the diaper cream. What a stupid mess. :(

  7. Not sure if this qualifies as a beauty tip, per se, as it's more of a beauty SOS, but:

I had the worst bikini waxing experience of my life and besides a patchy, crappy wax job I have some sort of red burns on my inner thighs that I think are from the glycolic acid in the post-wax solution she put on my skin. Either that or she ripped off a couple layers of skin, but it seems more of a chemical burn. Has this happened to anyone before, and if so what did you put on to calm it down?

Obviously I can't use TendSkin now so hello ingrown hairs, on top of it all. :(

    So. Damn. Mad.

  8. I will forever treasure the image of those bed sheets hanging out the jail window in broad daylight...  a window no adult human could fit through. LOL!

James's wife had to know there were improprieties. She is probably going with the Teresa Guidice defense: "I didn't know anything, I'm just really stupid and pretty and I sign any papers when I'm told, tee hee."

  9. I tuned in for 48 Hours and got the Jerry Springer Show instead!

Frances should get a Razzie Award for her bad acting during the jail interview. Bonnie is runner-up with her local news interview. They're just two responsible, loving women who would never hurt a fly, y'all!

All three of them could have killed innocent motorists during that ridiculous car chase so my sympathy is with no one in this story, and I would have been happy if both women went to jail. And the daughter who joined in the trashy text fight? Yeah, she can have a seat, too. Quite frankly, I believe an asylum is missing three of its lunatics.

Would love to know what they say Bonnie stole from the Hall family.

    • So my fellow True Crime posters I just found out the most fascinating info:  Remember Russ Faria who was charged with killing his wife and "good friend" Pam Hupp  wound up with the children's insurance money? Russ was convicted but later acquitted in a retrial when this time around he was allowed to present the alternate theory that Pam did it.  Hold onto your lunches!  She's been arrested for murdering a man in connection with the Faria murder:  This case is absolutely riveting! Cant wait for the Keith Morrison update

    I thought this was informative:

HOLY-MOLY! I remember this from 48 Hours or Dateline! Thanks for the update. Can't say I'm surprised. :(

I wonder if there is any more footage of her running in high heels... with a spine disability that prevents her from being able to work. :/

I don't put much stock in Patsy wearing the same clothes as the night before. As someone else pointed out, she was a secret slob and she might not have done laundry in a while. Also I believe she'd gained weight in the past year and maybe a bit more during the holidays ... she might not have had a lot of outfits that fit her properly. She mentioned in one interview coloring her own hair in the day or two leading up to JonBenet's murder. I would think that a woman of her means would never EVER allow her hair to come into contact with box color -- they make appointments in high-end salons. So her behavior was, to say the least, not predictable or consistent with someone of her wealth.

The trip to Michigan was not planned until last minute, and it was John's idea. To me it's possible she had planned a salon appointment but their schedule got so crazy (two young kids, parties, Christmas, Michigan, cruise, etc.) that she had to go dyi out of necessity. I can't imagine how hectic it must have been. I'd need Ativan too!

This is OT, but I am actually awaiting news regarding the death of a family friend. His killer was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. The sentencing was supposed to be today, but I haven't heard anything. The irony (and the reason I posted this here), is that he was a CSI tech and I would have loved to get his opinion on this special and on the whole JBR mystery.

EVS, I'm very sorry for your loss.

I watched the show tonight (wasn't going to but got curious) and found it interesting.  At least Lou Smits wasn't on (the retired cop who prayed with John and Patsy!).  It looks like they're focusing on Burke.  It'll be interesting to see how they handle their accusation of the murderer on tomorrow's show.

The Ramsey attorney has been on a little Twitter rampage. Among other things, he said CBS has been warned the Ramseys will sue if Burke is accused. I suspect CBS knows a thing or two about what they can and cannot air, legally speaking.

Interesting! I'd like to know why the FBI didn't believe it was a kidnapping from the start.

Well like I said I might have made that part up, aka conflated two statements. But as soon as the body was found and the FBI stepped down, an agent told the cops "look at the family". Because the majority of kids who are killed are killed by their family, so it only makes sense to start there and move outward. Especially since she was found dead in their own basement and the ransom note was obviously fake.

I'm watching Ryan's Hope online right now, from the first episodes, virtually complete, at least for the first 5 years or so.  I'm up to Jill taking the baby Edmund on that will fated trip to the beach house.  It's still great, these early years.

That beach house saw its fair share of drama! lol What did you think of the original Faith?

Last month I saw the actor who played Roger on an old Matlock rerun and got way too excited. He played a charming bad guy, so it was a little bit like watching Ryan's Hope. :)

Well, friends, much as C Street has for decades maintained a gay presence as the norm, they're starting to film some nice, human-but-hot male gay love scenes, and are they ever well done. I literally looked up from my pail of Chateau Kangaroo in admiration.

WHAT. That is so funny and I don't know what you mean! lol

Coronation Street never appealed to me but I may have to give them a go if they're willing to be all sensible about human sexuality. And yeah, "brave" is not what I would call U.S. soaps when it comes to being progressive. Although forcing everyone to sit through those Billy/Phyllis love scenes was pretty brave, in that they're lucky fans didn't firebomb the studio. :)

  17. Oh but they lurrv their social responsibility rationale. Remember when every single episode had a character say "HIVthevirusthatcausesAIDS"? I guess it was the late 80s. Good intentions, but my friends and I thought it was awful and started working it into conversation:

You'll never guess who I bumped into last night! / Was it HIVthevirusthatcausesAIDS?

There's something wrong with my car. / Hope it's not HIVthevirusthatcausesAIDS!

Four calling birds, three french hens, two turtle doves... and HIVthevirusthatcausesAIDS.

  18. My understanding is that the FBI did not take jurisdiction, one of their agents consulted with the BPD. And that agent did not believe it was a kidnapping. He told them from the start they were looking at a murder. Which is probably why the FBI left it with BPD.

ETA I was mainly wrong. The FBI briefly took co-jurisdiction but that was after BPD was already well into screwing up the scene. An agent went to the house for a quick visit before the body was discovered but he did not kick everyone out, so yes maybe they should take some responsibility too. When the body was found an agent told the BPD "look at the parents". I can't find the quote where they never thought it was really a kidnapping so maybe I made that up in my head. And now I will go outside and get a life.

  19. Not sure if this is UO or just politically incorrect, but I wish they would cut out all the AA shit. There's nothing compelling or entertaining about a sanctimonious blowhard sermonizing to us about addiction and sobriety.

Neil, I'm looking at you. You too, Jack. And Nikki. Have a drink and go run over Cricket again. Now that's good television!
