A UO I have is that I don't see the big deal that women are wearing sleeveless dresses.  Maybe it's -20 outside, but it isn't that cold inside.  I personally can't wear sleeveless even in the summer because I am always ice cold, but I'm sure there are plenty of women who can handle dressing like that in a 72 degree office.  What does drive me nuts, though, is when a character goes outside with his/her coat draped over his/her arm.  Just put the damn coat on, because now it is -20!

Every time I see them in sleeveless dresses I get second-hand stress about the heating bills. And their carbon footprints. But not as much second-hand stress as when they clomp inside from the Wisconsin snow/salt/slush and don't remove their shoes. GAH!

My UO is that I hope Faith dies in a snowdrift. I've had enough of that smarmy kid.

On my current regimen I do either/or with the mashed potatoes and stuffing. And no rolls. 6 months and counting maintaining my goal weight.

    That's excellent!

I planned to allow myself "the Thanksgiving works" and boy oh boy... did I feel sluggish and gross afterward. But it was delicious! lol Today we took a brisk 6 mile walk and did some abs, and ate pretty normal (minus the big oatmeal cookie), so things are getting back on track.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and for those not in the U.S. hope you had a great weekend. :)

I like Chelsea and Nick's storyline.

I think I married a CBS VP is a good soap actress.

Still not a fan of her gasping, but the growing relationship between those two seems downright logical and grownup compared to the random pairings of late. At least it didn't start with drunk sex in a storage room.

I think John was so used to being a CEO whose word was law that he transferred that belief to his personal life.  "I say it, so it's true.  Don't question my veracity.  If someone else says something different in their book, don't believe them.  They are lying.  I'm not lying.  Because I said so."

Except even CEOs at private companies have to deal in facts. But I agree that he has an imperious "I'm the boss" air about him and certainly a dismissive attitude to law enforcement. Actually, he comes across as a true narcissist. Complete with martyr complex. Come to think of it, telling whoppers effortlessly is a hallmark of narcissism, too. Hmmm.

This video contains an interview with FBI agent Ron Walker where he talks about his involvement with the Ramsey case. John is also featured and he blatantly lies about the FBI not being involved. Ron arrived 15 minutes after JBR's body was found so John Ramsey would have still been at the home when Walker arrived.

I'm curious about the blatant lying. Pageants were only a couple of Sundays out of JonBenet's life. The FBI were not there. etc. Anyone have theories as to why John said easily refuted crap like this?

Jackie Kennedy, the Virgin Mary... Patsy identified with some big names in history! Not to mention her daughter was America's Princess. Gee whiz. Heaven must have a VIP section roped off for her.

When Patsy called into Larry King live one time and said that Jonbenet was "the People's Princess", she told Nedra that was going to let God choose her words when speaking on air.

TIL God is a terrible speech writer.

I really don't understand how Britney Spears father was able to get a conservatorship to force her into treatment and take whatever meds required.  It seems to have worked out well for her.  I know this wouldn't work for everyone, but why doesn't it happen more often?  Shelley Duvall might do well in such a situation, if a reliable person was in charge and the conservatorship was overseen by the courts.

I think Britney was placed on a 5150 hold (which is when you are sent to a psych ward for a mandatory minimum of 72 hours for your own safety). Once that happened her father was able to step in. There would have been documented evidence and psych evaluations. It doesn't sound like there has been any such action in Shelley's life so far. You need real evidence of incompetence before you can put someone under conservatorship.

I'm just wondering what exactly Colin's diagnosis is, that he needed treatment away from home. From what we've seen on the show, nothing ever stood out to me about that kid, that made me think he really had issues. I mean, I know there are so many different things that kids can struggle with these days - but in-patient treatment seems really extreme to me. You can get IEPs and special help in school. You can do weekly therapy, even have people come to your home. I would only think of sending my child to a facility in a REALLY extreme case, and nothing about Colin ever said "extreme problems" to me. Anyone else?

Sometimes inpatient is recommended when it is not appropriate or safe for the child to be around other siblings or household members (either for his wellbeing or theirs). We can't rely on an edited TLC show to decide whether Colin has extreme problems. I hope he is happy and well, wherever he is, and that it's not one of those boot camp facilities. :(

  9. Yeah, working out at home is all about getting into a routine and being dedicated to it, because there are lots of other distractions. But I guess that's also true of getting to the gym. aradia I hope you find a solution to the spending issue so you're under less stress. Could you ask the trainer in the new year to set you up with a completely new routine once per month, and then spend each month mastering it? That would get you almost a year without having to buy more. I hope you enjoy your December sessions. It's great that you're working out through the holiday season!

Exactly.  Pam was not a diabolical genius.  She was sloppy, short-sighted, and bumbling.   The people investigating and prosecuting this case were willfully ignorant.   They were too lazy to look into her mother's case because she was old.  And no one cares about the brain damaged man who had no money or influence.  I'm amazed they're even investigating the poor man's murder.  I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up prosecuting Betsy's husband.  I'm sure Betsy's mom thinks he did it anyway.  I just hate willful ignorance.

But diabolical nonetheless! I mean luring a disabled man to her house so she can shoot him in order to frame Faria... WOW. While having the balls to masquerade as a Dateline producer. She's next-level crazy.

I didn't understand the timeline for her mother's death. Pam told the staff that her mom would not be down for dinner or breakfast, then left. Her mom was found the next day. Did Pam sneak back in and toss her mom over the balcony at night, or was her poor mom out there the whole time, unnoticed?

  11. I've enjoyed a few of the Balls Deep episodes, notably life on a tug boat and following that Trump volunteer in Ohio. And the tent preacher. And the high school students preparing to graduate. Okay, I like a lot of it. :) Last night I watched the ep about Ramadan and appreciated the look into how some everyday families celebrate, and how much is involved.

(and I have a tiny crush on Thomas Morton WHAT)

I watcheda few episodes recently (MMA, heroin and legal brothels) and i find it is a weird combination of really obvuous information that Lisa seems really surprised by (MMA is really popular, heroin addicts might not follow through on their promises) and then some really shocking shit like that guy who basically said if not for his regular date at the brothel he might just be a sex offender, or the whole thing with kids mma.

I think that's the part that bugs me. She seemed so mortified to learn that models have to keep thin and are judged by their looks. Really, Lisa? That's news? But then there are truly fascinating bits like inside the L.A. county coroner's department, or heartbreaking pieces like the victims of Warren Jeffs. It just seems like at the end of even really different worlds like those two, she never has much of substance to say. IMO she'd be better off just chronicling the encounters  and not bothering with her confession-style monologues.

  13. Hi aradia, I hope it goes well with the trainer! Are you able to space the training sessions out over time and do their routine by yourself in between, to maximize the $$$? It used to motivate me knowing that I was seeing the trainer again in a couple weeks and wanted to show progress, as opposed to no progress and having to tell them I'd slacked off.

    Barre class is tough.

  14. "You can rely on the old man's blowpoke" sounds incredibly dirty. lol

I agree that his "other" life may have been a factor. They are bleeding money, her job is on the line, mounting debt, and she's busting her hump while he lazes around the house and picks up guys on the internet? They may also have had an arrangement where she didn't care so long as she didn't have to know about it, and somehow one of his daliances came to her attention. Maybe she threatened to tell everyone what he really did during the day while everyone thought he was writing. Or maybe he just wanted the insurance money, simple as that.

I was not on board with the way the prosecutor shrieked "filth!!!" in regards to pornography. She sounded like the Church Lady from SNL.
