What did he do to the fish and the dog? I missed some bits of this show.

Killed his goldfish with bleach because he was mad that he didn't get a hamster. Put a dog in a crate and slammed it around. Rumors that he did other things to animals but those are the ones documented iirc.

According to the Sheriff, Carver and Brown were involved in illegal activities that he declines to name. The plot thickens, or totally coincidental to the murder/kidnapping?

  2. LOL! My husband used to run our dogs while rollerblading, and I toddled along behind. He took speed skating as a kid so he could handle it. I do enjoy it even though I've been known to spin out over the tiniest crack in the pavement. Embarrassing! But I think anything that gets your muscles out of their comfort zone is a good thing. Sorry you are having balance issues now. Is that something temporary?

I did 60 minutes of cardio yesterday and 8 minutes abs, but pigged out on pasta and chocolate so.... I am the poster child for bad behavior.

  3. The police have not stated a motive for Carver's murder so take the mother's explanation with a giant grain of salt. I call bullshit on the alleged bike shop bullying, too.  I suppose that poor goldfish disrespected him along with the abused dog and the rape victim. Poor widdle psychopath.

So glad Kala has supportive friends to live with while she heals.

You know what I hate. When someone brings up a topic on an Internet forum.   Makes an oversimplified argument or patronizing point. Then when someone doesn't agree, the person shuts it down or declares the matter closed. It's so weak and bit troll-y.

Come sit here by me, petunia, cuz I hate that too! I knew someone who did that all the time and it's So. Infuriating. I also hate when you correct someone with a fact, and they say "that's just your opinion". Facts are not opinion ffs. ARGH.

The wildfires are awful and I hope everyone keeps safe. And bilgistic I hope you feel much better soon.

  5. Pamela Ramsay Taylor's remarks made me literally sick to my stomach. I mean, it is physically hurtful to hear such vile hatred.

I thought cockroaches ran away when you turned on the light? Trump's light is actually bringing the cockroaches out. Out and about and damn proud of themselves, too. I am terrified for every POC. (With all due respect to actual cockroaches. I know you are an ancient species and remarkable critters in your own ways.)

Okay. Coping. Here is a cute video (oldie but goodie):

IAmerican network executives could only see it airing and therefore promoting and adding revenue to business rivals progams?  So it never got the push and support it deserved.

Yup, I could see that. Any audience time spent being interested in featured shows like the Walking Dead or Empire is audience time not spent watching the latest Housewives frachise or that crap show about boat crews. What they don't get is there are a lot of people who wouldn't watch that other Bravo nonsense anyway but would tune in to Bravo for People's Couch, because it's different and genuinely funny as hell. And you can live vicariously through the cast while they munch on DELICIOUS SNACKS.

  7. Well the main thing is that you moved when it was right for you. We can always second guess the real estate market but as you said.... hindsight is 20/20. An unimproved mountain highway sounds like it would have been a p.i.t.a.
     At least you're safe!

  8. Matching outfits??? I mean unless it was a themed party... or if it was JonBenets idea.

Patsy comes off as desperate and tacky. Supposedly she did a lot for the community when they moved to Michigan though. I don't know. She and John rub me the wrong way.

what state do u live in glowlights?  are u landlocked?

We're on the west coast right now until we can get back east. Or France the way my husband has been talking. LOL We are happy with oceans, prairie, desert or mountains so long as a major airport is accessible. I do love wide open spaces though. Have you always been on the island? Btw we just recorded a nature special about the ghost (white) bears of Vancouver island. It might be on PBS on demand if you're interested.

UO: I am so sick of all these baby plots. Can Sully please go live with distant relatives and we forget about him until he's old enough to be interesting? Same with Bella and Connor and Faith and the Winters twins. I remember the good old days when soap kids were shipped off to boarding school.

i loved christopher walken in one of my most favourite movies that i never get tired of watching.  it's called "blast from the past".  it stars brendan fraser as adam (born in a bomb shelter in the early 60's), cw as his father, sissy spaced played his mom and alicia silverstone who became his girlfriend.. never get tired of watching it..it's my go to movie for when i'm on the ferry.

Is "on the ferry" a euphemism? I love it but maybe you mean an actual boat. LOL

  11. It strikes me as a bit hinky that the Ramseys had so many versions of the facts about JonBenets pageant life. Maybe they were just embarrassed because they knew in hindsight how bad it looked and wanted to justify themselves.

It's always sad to think of a little child being pushed too hard. Miss America? Gag.

TLC sees themselves differently! Here's an article about the show. At the end is this:

    About TLC

Offering remarkably relatable real-life stories without judgment, TLC shares everyday heart, humor, hope, and human connection with programming genres that include fascinating families, heartwarming transformations, and life’s milestone moments.

I think they have confused judgement with discretion and decency.

  13. Gave up on Washington Square (this is not the week for struggling with books you don't enjoy!) and picked up Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh. About halfway through the second chapter and feel like I've dropped into another world.

Patsy also claimed JonBenét started the pageant life because JB saw an ad in a newspaper and expressed an interest in competing.  Yeah, I know when I was a kid I read the entire newspaper--or maybe it was just the funnies.

That's odd. I distinctly remember an interview in which Patsy said that she went to some sort of pageant reunion (her generation) and JonBenet got excited about it and said she wanted to do pageants, too. Now it was a newspaper ad? The facts should not be this nebulous.

I agree with most here.   I cannot imagine the pain of the parents.   But I was irritated with that father by the end.  Ray could not be released until there was another body behind bars. Does he even care if the right man is convicted?

I think at this point it is all about them and their anger, not justice for their daughter. Sad.

Erlich was I Am Very Smart come to life. Anyone who describes himself as an autodidactic polymath is indeed ridiculous, but in this instance he put his puffery to excellent use, so well done and keep it up kiddo.

In Georgia, the pro-Trump interviewees (husband and wife) gave a normal pro-Trump set of reasons of why he and his wife were supporting Trump.  At the very end, when the NPR interviewer was thanking them, they said something about at least they would have their guns if Hillary won -- and NPR said, "what about your guns?"  The wife said, "for the war".  NPR?  "The *war*?"  Wife:  "Yes, the patriot war."  It was astonishing.

Yup. This crap was freely and openly touted on social media - how if Drumpfsters didn't get their way they would resort to armed insurrection in the name of patriotism. They are the same people who are now outraged that protests are happening. I used to think they were being deliberately intellectually dishonest. Now I firmly believe they are flat out stupid.

If that email from the Texan elector is real you can toss him in the same stupid bin. No doubt he thinks " intarnet lawsuites!" are a thing.

That's where I am with it, too.  I will be traveling to Cary, North Carolina to spend the holiday with my brother-in-law, his lovely Lebanese wife, and their child.  Unfortunately, her mother is a racist who had a problem with my brother-in-law courting her daughter.  She claimed it was her husband; but we learned it was actually her and in the most painful way possible.  All her husband cared about was that my brother-in-law was a good provider and loved his daughter.

Oh, and she voted for Drumpf.

Wow. :(. I hope your holiday is as racism free and politics free as possible. So sorry your BIL is being treated that way.
