  1. Liked the Ducky stuff, didn't care for the Bishop stuff ... one of the lessons I've learned from NCIS is that federal agents have crap personal lives ... what a recruiting tool this show is.
  2. Tell me about it ... Brennan has always been a know it all, but now she's a smug, mechanical, joyless know it all. Booth, on the other hand, acts as if all the life has been sucked from him. Heck, he doesn't even have the energy to shave, anymore. Jack and Angela are still great, but the show's not built around them, unfortunately.
  3. Note to self: Don't watch next season's ninth episode. Seriously, though, what can they possibly do to shock us now? Roast a bunch of puppy dogs? I know there's worse things than Shireen burning at the stake, but I'll be damned if I want to watch it. I love this show so much, but sometimes I think GRRM and the showrunners are just messing with us, seeing how much we'll take.
  4. I hope the Boltons flay Stannis and his witch.
  5. Fertile or horny ... and frankly, I don't know which is worse.
  6. I hated the neck bug, also, but I'll watch 20 more of those if the show promises not to show any more melting eyeballs oozing out of a skull.
  7. The positives for me were, 1. Aubrey is growing on me; and 2. the comedy duo of Hodgins and Bray didn't disappoint. The negatives were, 1. Crime of the week was forgettable; and 2. the Max storyline has been done to death. Seriously, how many episodes have centered around Brennan being ticked at her dad for some reason, only for there to be a sweet reconciliation scene at the end? I'll probably watch until the bitter end, also, but more out of habit than anything else. This season has been abysmal.
  8. I think that Booth is finally finding that life with a smug android isn't all it's cracked up to be.
  9. Although it was kinda ruined by the poor body doubles, I loved the idea of the final scene ... after a tough day fighting crime and various insecurities, our favorite couple still finds time for some relaxing song-and-dance in the shower. Seriously, is this a great marriage or what?
  10. This was better than last week, which I know is damning with faint praise. Caroline was her usual awesome self, the red-headed squintern wasn't too insufferable and nobody looked like they were sleep-walking this episode. I guess I'm in the minority, 'cause I kind of like Aubrey and I like how he and Booth are starting to develop a partnership. Speaking of ... best exchange of the ep: BOOTH: Philandering? AUBREY: It's a word.
  11. I agree. I always had trouble with the pairing, mainly because the two actors really didn't do a good job of selling it, IMO. But, in this ep, I became a believer. First, they bickered like a couple, then they made up like a couple. I just hope the plotline with Delilah means she'll be on the show more ... I really like the actress.
  12. This used to be one of my favorite shows. Now, it is ... this. If everyone is going to keep sleep-walking through episodes, I'll be out in a hurry. It's more sad than anything else.
  13. Yeah, nothing says hard-hitting drama like the return of Avalon the psychic. Maybe she'll communicate with Sweets from the great beyond.
  14. I like Robert Wagner, but all the Tony Sr. episodes are starting to blend together. Let's see: 1) Senior arrives unexectedly. 2) Senior does things that mortify Junior 3) Senior charms the pants off of most everybody. 4) Much tension develops between Junior and Senior. 5) The two eventually reconcile. Which Senior episode am I talking about? EVERY ONE.
  15. It's such a cliche to say one is heart-broken when a celebrity passes, but I truly feel a part of childhood has been ripped away. Nobody lives forever, but I secretly wished Mr. Nimoy would turn the trick. RIP, Leonard.
  16. Some random "bests:" Best multi-episode bad guy -- Broadsky. Epps was too mustache-twirly, Pelant had too many superpowers and the Gravedigger was too unbelievable. Broadsky, in contrast, was simply someone who had a perverted sense of justice. Plus, the sequence that led to Nigel-Murray's death and the final showdown between Booth and Broadsky were very expertly staged. Best romantic moment, Booth/Brennan division -- The proposal scene from "Secret in the Siege" was good, but a small scene a few minutes before that, when a freaked-out Brennan calms down and tells Booth, "You are not allowed to die" in a very soft voice was smokin' hot, IMO. Honorable mention goes to the skating scene at the end of "Fire in the Ice." Best romantic moment, Hodgins/Angela division -- I forget the episode title, but it's when Angela thinks she might be pregnant (it was a false alarm) and Hodgins says simply, "I'm your guy." Honorable mention goes to their conversation right before the birth of their son. Speaking of Hodgins ... Best character transformation -- I sooo hated "Angry Hodgins" from Season 1, but I love science nerd and experiment junkie Hodgins from subsequent seasons. And I have to find some way to insert "Excuse me for loving my work" into casual conversation. Best argument make-up scene -- From "The Divorce in the Partnership." ED and DB made me believe that their characters were madly in love with each other with very few words or physical actions. Best squintern -- Bray. Sure, he's an Everyman who's almost too good to be true, but he's a damned good Everyman (honorable mention goes to Nigel-Murray ... RIP, Vincent). Best humorous guest star -- David Alan Grier as Bunsen Jude, the Science Dude. I may never get "observe, analyse, deduce" and "Amazing!" out of my brain and I don't think I want to, either. Is it March yet? ETA: Thanks for the catch, Wendy.
  17. I, too, enjoy Hollis' relationship with Gibbs. I appreciate there's a woman out there who will call out Gibbs on his B.S. and make him listen (and not come out looking shrill in the process). It's only logical that Gibbs would feel responsible for the deaths of the women in his life, but it's also a false assumption. Bad things happen to good people, sometimes for no good reason at all. All the angst in the world won't bring Shannon or Diane or Kate back, and Gibbs changing the way he is won't help things, either. So, bravo to Hollis for showng him the light. Only thing I want to add to the Jimmy baby love is that I loved the touch of his picking the pink balloon as his way of announcing his daughter's arrival.
  18. Potty-mouthed Christine hit home for me ... Several years ago, I was driving my young-un' to daycare when another driver cut me off and I loudly uttered a four-letter word that rhymes with "hit." That night, little one was playing with her toys when wifey and I heard heard her say (that word) rather loudly. Kids are God's way to keep you humble ... and mortified.
  19. IMO, what Bones has done best, especially compared to a lot of other shows, is develop secondary characters like the Squinterns, Max and Caroline. Honorable mention goes to the chemistry that's still evident among the main cast. The worst thing about Bones (and maybe this was inevitable, considering the show's been on the air for 10 years) is that the crimes of the week are rarely interesting.
  20. From Season 9's "Mystery in the Meat:" Hungover Cam after drinking one of the squintern's remedy — "This stuff tastes like hate."
  21. I agree that the Brody character is the toughest to get a handle on so far, but the others have grown on me (even Abby wannabe Sebastian has improved greatly), so four out of five ain't bad at all.
  22. What an unusual episode. The subplot with Leonard, Howard and Raj was more melancholy than anything else and the Penny/Bernadette story was just uncomfortable (I'm really tired of the Bernadette-as-bitch/shrew storyline ... TPTB always overdo it). The Sheldon/Amy subplot was the best part of the episode, but that's damning with faint praise considering everything else that went on.
  23. That's fine with me. the sooner Show drops this particular soap opera, the better. IMO, it only detracts from the show's strengths.
  24. Lucas Black is stealing this show. LaSalle is the perfect combination of fun-loving and badass. And I'm not a male chauvinist pig by any means, but some strange reason I had no problem with Brodie's Freudian Slip. Nice, uh, eyeglasses, Zoe.
