The bit with Shauna's family talking about being a real American was 100% a dog whistle.
I'm a former evangelical turned atheist and while I dislike Shaina and her behavior at the party I'm so glad she finally flat out told Kyle, we're not getting married. There was no way it would ever have worked. For some people religion may be a part of their lives and something that can flex. For Shaina, it is her life. I know, I used to be her. And that indoctrination runs so deep, there's no way it would have worked.

Also, if Shaina truly leaves then I respect her for that. The differences between her and Kyle are too great. They'll never work together and someone needs to say it and end it sooner rather than later.

I think Kyle was pressured by producers to propose.
Shaina just wants the fame of the show. And the only way to have that is to get engaged. She wanted Shayne but worried she wouldn't be his top pick. So she settled. Shades of Jessica and Mark.
There's no way they make it down the aisle.

I've only seen this episode so far, and I know there's editing involved.
But Shayne is 100% the dude that wants a wife and a girlfriend. He wants the smart, have a connection, wife. And then the younger hot girlfriend that he sleeps with.
He'd absolutely cheat and then blame his partner for not meeting his needs enough. And think that was totally ok.

We laugh, but I legitimately had a woman argue with the bank because she was charged a fee for not having homeowners insurance. She claimed that she had prayed on it and therefore her house was covered by God. She escalated it through supervisors for months saying that God was insuring her house and she wasn't going to pay any penalties.

Didn't Lauren say she had a migraine? I get chronic migraines and have had to opt out of many important things because I was too sick to participate. Add to that, the absolute last thing you want with a migraine is bright filming lights.
I know that many people think of migraines as just headaches or excuses people use, but they can be debilitating even if it looks like we're fine. You can lose parts of your vision. And they can last days. Even when the pain is low level, when you are on day 5 of that shit your tolerance for anything is pretty much zero.
I don't know Lauren, but I know migraines. It's not something you just take Tylenol for or you just tough out for family activities.

I adored Queen of Heart's first song. Absolutely gorgeous. But she was outsung by Nicole on the duet. QoH was good, but damn Nicole! I was impressed by how good she was. And it's a shame it took six seasons to let her sing.

Okay, I hate Jinger & Jeremy's statement the most.
I think it's because while Derick & Jill cited bible verses, they made sense in context and are a part of their faith. And were a very pointed condemnation of how things were handled.
The focus of Jinger & Jeremy's statement seems to be "don't let this stop you from being a christian".
Are they seriously still trying to evangelize right now?! Like, read the room!
They seem more concerned about Josh being a hypocrite to the faith than anything else and I just can't with them.

You're not the only one wondering this. With how much they're pointing it out and she's "pouting", I figure she's gonna have a come-from-behind-shocking-win. I wouldn't be surprised if it's in her contract.
Reality showrunners must love Jenny because there is literally nothing she won't do for the camera. That woman will embarrass herself six ways to Sunday if it gets her on tv.

I don't know why anyone would watch this based off that trailer.
It's been years since I read the book and I don't remember a lot of it and this trailer didn't help at all.
I have zero sense of what it's supposed to be about, or what genre it's supposed to be. Nothing.

I feel like Jurgen did so well early on that they are now more forgiving of his mistakes. Because if anyone else had made macarons incorrectly Paul would have been far more judgmental. Same with the showstopper. It might have been elegant, but it also seemed boring. It feels like they feel that Jurgen should be in the finals. And so they're trying to judge kinder. Well maybe he'll have some bad weeks at the end and not make it. You have to judge it the worst if it is the worst. It's not the end of the world if the early frontrunner goes home early. Shit happens. Jurgen and Giuseppe might have dominated early, but Chigs and Chrystelle have come up strong and I really want to see them both in the final.

I think they wanted a lot of pairs for this season. My guess is they wanted both Honey Boo Boo and Mama June so they reached out to both. That discussion of doing the show led them to reconnect. My speculation anyways.
But they definitely focused on pairs this season.

I was commenting recently how I thought they must pitch correct because even the bad singers aren't horrific. Everyone is at least on key. Then Beach Ball happened.
