  1. The single best thing about this episode was Tim Gunn's hula lesson! I haven't laughed so hard in an age. and say what you will about Tim, (I still love him, despite everything), he's a great sport, and I always love his interactions with people's families and friends. Sigh. Remember season 1? When the designers had, what? 8 months to make their collections? Five weeks, no wonder the final collections are dull and uninspired.
  2. Oh yeah. Another misogynistic turd waving his dick around. He and baseball cap wearing, messy guy are members of the He Man Woman Haters Club. All about control. He was going to show that little blonde who was boss. What a dink.
  3. Insta-loathe for Adam, the messy, baseball cap wearing douche. He seems to reserve most of his sneering contempt for his female competitors, which makes me dislike him even more, if that's possible. First rule, dude--A good chef works clean. I'm desolate that I didn't realize that Top Chef was filming in Boston, looks like this summer. I work at MIT right across the river from the Museum of Science party site, and lord alone knows what else I missed, boo! I am obviously rooting for my Boston homie, whose name I don't even know yet. Also like blonde award winning woman, challenge winner Mei, Joy, and Gregory, who I think will continue to be quirky and interesting. I was never a Blais hater, but man, after last night I am already screaming "uncle!". Jesus dude. Shut up every once in a while. I have never liked Padma, I usually just want to slap her. And Colicchio is a spectacular douche, but I like the work he is doing to feed hungry kids, so I'm giving him a pass. I've always been a watcher but never really a fan, if that makes sense. But I'll be paying attention this season. Squee! Tiffany Faison and Kristen Kish--two of my favorite cheftestants EVER!!
  4. THANK you. Jesus. If my misty memory serves, the last thing you want to do on a first date is overdress--you want to look nice, but not seem overeager. I thought Kini's model looked adorable and perfectly appropriate. Loved his outfit and his model was so cute. Emily's was really nice too. I think she would have benefitted from some editing--the skirt could have been simpler, since the big pleaty ruffles were the focal point. A simpler skirt, nice and full and twirly but not as ruffly would have been nice. I had no problem with Char getting the extra ten minutes, for the model's sake. I do have a huge problem with the others agreeing to it, then being shitty to Char about it. To me it looks like this is the spirit of this cast--pick one person to snark on and marginalize, go into little mean girl, whispery huddles and bitch about. Now that Sandhya's gone, looks like its Char now. And they kept on about how Tim's saved her twice! then get mad at Tim, not Char! These guys all act like middle schoolers and I lay it directly at Korina's door. She's clearly the strongest personality of the bunch and her attitude seems to be setting the tone. She is absolutely putty in production's hands, spouting her bile with that big pleased shit eating grin, like she's the wittiest thing that ever hefted a needle. I'm sure the PA's laugh and laugh!
  5. I watched this epi and was transported back in time to the mid 90's, when my son was little and I hung out on misc.kids on usenet! The Mommy Wars! Breast or bottle! WOH or SAH! circumcize or not! to spank or not to spank! the topics came up over and over and the flames raged. good times. well, not really. I remember conversations about EC, too. To me it seems like an awful lot of work but I'm pretty damn lazy. The anti-vax stuff had me yelling at the TV but otherwise I did like Christian, who came across as ditsy but sincere and sweet. she loves her baby and wants to do right by her. I actually "aw'd" when she was getting all teary over her pregnancy test. I predict that there will be no time for "elimination communication" once there is a second child! But I liked them both, for the most part.
  6. I am an unabashed Tiffani fan and squee'd when i saw that she was on Duels! But WTF...... she didn't win? neck and neck for apps, blew Dale's entree out of the water, and only lost the dessert round? I suspect that the outcomes are pre determined--just like the "votes" in the challenge rounds. I've only seen the show a few times, but does each voting segment go--one vote to one competitor, one to the other, and then the final "tie breaker"? Geez, show. We've been watching reality teevee for 20 years now. Try and keep up. I am so NOT on the edge of my seat, I am lunging for the remote to fast forward through this snoozefest. And I agree, Rob Zombie acted like an ungracious ass. "salads and sides" he mutters contemptuously. Dude. She has a BARBECUE restaurant. Meat-o-Rama. And why didn't he want to even try her cake? Cake is popular. People love cake. He acted like she put down a plate of earthworms or something. Sheesh.
  7. Agreed. I was very impressed with Sandyha's demeanor on the runway--Hernan and Carrie were tripping over themselves to see who could throw her under the bus faster, and she remained calm and ladylike and took the high road, refusing to rise to the "who do YOU think should go?" bait. So even if she did overreact to their behavior by going to Tim, I choose to overlook it. Its a very stressful environment and I'm sure people can very quickly get marginalized. Or at least feel that they are. And rather than feed that beast, she went to Tim. I saw it more as a way to express her feelings and vent her frustration as opposed to running to the teacher. I am a fan of hers and I want her to succeed. Hernan and Carrie were appallingly rude and Carrie's attitude after her auf'ing was sickening. Blame the judges, not Sandhya. It was their decision, not hers! But of course she can't be a little bitch to Heidi or Nina or Zac. And Tim was certainly "go clean up your space. don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out". that made me laugh. Mitchell redeemed himself by offering a little human kindness. Korina is just awful, so smug for no reason. I hope we are over team challenges for now.
  8. I adore her without reservation. I think she and Sandhya should join forces, since their combined awesomeness will obliterate the petty nastiness already being displayed.
  9. Sandhya is one of my favorites and I hope she goes far. Korina and Mitchell can go play in traffic, its obvious they are trying to get screen time by being Mean Girls. I love her vision and how colorful and whimsical her clothes are. And I love how she can articulate her vision. Go Sandhya!
