  1. So the crew was at some bar again last night with a live stream on FB. It looked pretty chaotic and was hard to tell who was talking in the bar din and there are these constant subtitle-like comments coming up on the screen that are very distracting. I wish I could figure out a way to get some of those fans/friends who are commenting to come over here and chat. I think I also saw some MCM episodes recording on my DVR last night and am hoping that at least one of them will be one I haven't seen.
  2. I just wonder if sometimes they do things that the owners really didn't want done. And if Chase has any architectural or structural design training for these times when he moves or constructs walls. I do like the craft-y type projects they do like the tree slice countertop and the reusing of existing old materials lying around (Maine has lots of that). That canoe light in the front sun porch of one cabin was great. I would like to know how much they had to pay the 'famous' chainsaw sculptor to make that bear. The show made it seem like they rolled up, hung out while he did it and then said Ok, bye, thanks! But this is worth watching just for the scenery as they go all over central, midcoast and western parts of the State it looks like.
  3. In high school in Maine, I couldn't WAIT to get out of there. Now I fight like crazy to get back for the summers. The very air, water and atmosphere is special. However, I like my cabin the way it is. Have since raked the leaves, trimmed the trees and added an antique granite front step, new picnic table and a fire pit.
  4. The MCM gang was at the August civic center recently for the Maine Outdoors show. They have a FB video of them roaming around and chatting casually. Lance wasn't there. And thank you SilverStormm for creating this forum. I wasn't sure I followed the instructions but was so excited to see it open up. Now I just need to recruit somebody to discuss.
  5. Although it's only a few episodes this season this is one of my new favorite shows and a PTV forum has been created. Please meet me, owner of a non-renovated Maine cabin, over there to discuss!
  6. You can hear Miss Allie on NPR doing commentary on TV in her real name Linda Holmes. She doesn't get as snarky as she used to (fire of a thousand burning nuns will always be my favorite), but is the same clever wordsmith we remember. Can't wait for TWOP to come back! I like the boards because I enjoy knowing there are other TV obsessed people out there and they are clear and literate. So thanks everybody.
  7. And an ice machine. The most camping I will do these days is a motel without cable TV
  8. Camp Dinner Bell. The original name for the group when they were making lots of noise at the quarry and drawing the walkers to them.
  9. My old stainless oven and stove top were made by General Electric. Luckily I was able to find a repairman with a contact somewhere for old parts and have kept the oven going. Wish I had found him before I replaced the stove top which probably could have been fixed too. Since I am no housekeeper I don't even notice fingerprints but have so much else to hate about my stainless refrigerator (doesn't make enough ice, bottom drawer freezer freezes shut, etc.). There's a reason some models end up at the Sears scratch and dent outlet I guess. Inherently defective. I saw an old style refrigerator at an estate sale recently that someone had covered completely with Contact paper (in a fab pattern)--that might work for your fuse box, mittengirl
  10. Love my original 1959 stainless wall oven, but hate my new stainless stovetop and refrigerator. The older must have been a higher grade of steel. When we bought our first house before moving in we brought in a garden hose, loosely wet the ceilings and scraped all the 'popcorn' off into the green shag carpeting which we then ripped off, rolled up and threw away. I don't even remember if we repainted the ceiling but they came out smooth and beautiful and hardwood that had been protected by the shag carpeting all those years was perfect. A little work and it was like a new room. This was a house I balked at even entering when the realtor threw open the door because it was so dated. Of course, I am probably slowly dying of asbestosis because we coughed for a week straight after the popcorn scraping process. Probably should have worn masks. Ah youth.
  11. I just want the blouse/dress that Cece was wearing at the party. Anyone know what that was?
  12. I thought Christina had a new bitch face look in this episode. When Tarek would start to look aghast at the cost of additional work or a suggested improvement she would roll her eyes with a "Not my problem" attitude. Can't believe she gave in on the kitchen and subway tiles backsplash again. I was looking hard to see any actual Rustic in that kitchen design and that one lame pendant lamp wasn't doing it. I have never thought she could stand him since the beginning and was stunned when she got pregnant since it seemed like only a matter of time until they were done. I wish H&G would get some new shows. Even Extreme Homes on GAC gives better looks at house porn without the manufactured drama.
