Casey wasn't upset about her dating this Cordova guy a decade ago. He was upset that she didn't tell him about it. It was a trust issue, nothing else!! And like he said, it wasn't the first time...Dawson really doesn't know her husband if she thought that he would be unfair to Cordova if he knew...Matt is not a vindictive type. And Gabby should realise that by now. If her marriage is so important to her, then her loyalty should have been with her husband, not an ex-fling...

You mean Heather Darden? She was romantically interested in Casey and not Severide, if you remember Season 1.

I think the writers will play it differently: either it was Cordova who dumped her or she dumped him after discovering that he was cheating on her. In any case, her delicate feelings were hurt and she'd be a victim...And poor Casey will end up looking like an insensitive jealous jerk...Bacause we all know that Princess Gabby can do no wrong, ugh :/

Put yourself in Casey's place and think if you'd like to know if a new FF on your truck is your wife's ex... They need absolute trust on a team and no subconscious resentment. besides, if Dawson was dating this Cordova guy while she was in the fire academy, then it means that she had cheated on Matt. Weren't they engaged at that time already?

Or hopelessly in love with Dawson b/c it's been too long since anyone mentioned that she is the perfect woman...and the writers are convinced that we're all dying to see a jealous Casey... Lol

I think you've missed the whole point of that storyline there. If the wife were standing outside watching the house burn to the ground, with her husband inside - injured but still alive, it would have been a cold blooded murder (exactly what Nancy Casey did back in the day)...but that woman was so desperate that she just gave up. She clearly thought that there's no escape from her abusive husband, and she was ready to die in that room...Casey offered her help, convinced her that there's hope for her, and it was so damn good to see Casey act like Casey, not like a Dawsons's doormat!

Only Dawson twitter fans like her whatever she does and they vocally cheer her every crusade. Elsewhere, people are sick and tired of Chicago Fire turning into the Gabby show. CF's Facebook page is full of negative comments...

No one hates Bria per se, it's just really frustrating that the writers keep recycling the storylines. I could see it from a mile afar that it's gonna be Louie 2.0. It drives me crazy that the CFD rules are not applied to Dawson. She's never reprimanded for getting over attached to the victims. Do you remember Shay's famous quote from s1? "We get them to the hospital best we can and then we move on"...Dawson should have called the social services and let them handle the situation... i get that she's feeling responsible now for Bria's disappearance but again, if she called her brother, I bet the police would have done a better job at finding the girl...instead, Gabby is skipping work (because she can...using Matt again) and going all Gabby Dawson AGAIN!!!! She is ready to jeopardise her marriage for a total stranger. Guess, it shows her priorities... land of course Bria is alive and Dawson will convince Casey that they should take Bria into their home until her dad is cleared from the rehab center. Obviously, she doesn't care that her husband will get attached to this girl and his heart will be broken again like it was with Louie... Also, I think that it was kinda creepy how obsessed Gabby acted. She looked borderline stalkerish when she peeked in Bria's aunt window. And isn't some kind of privacy violation? And calling herself Bria's friend? Really?!

You can add detective to this list and I am pretty sure we'll soon see more of her amazing talents...like foster mom of a troubled 16 yo... Lol Derek says Dawson is his fave character and I guess he considers it his personal failure as a writer that there's so much Gabbby hate around. And instead of tuning her down like the show fans are asking him to do, he's giving her more and more screen time, showcasing her various talents and trying to convince us that she is a multi-layered vulnerable yet strong character...I doubt he'll ever realise that Dawson is beyond redemption!

Spot on! Couldn't say it better!!!

The next eppy is called A Breaking Point. Be warned though- it's Dawson-centric...

Casey did save a civilian whom he gave his mask to. He must have covered him with his body when he pulled that metal cabinet down. Besides, at the ceremony Boden had mentioned that the medal wasn't only for that warehouse fire but for his everyday bravery and valor on the streets of Chicago. Do you seriously think that Casey doesn't deserve it?!

Didn't you know that it's the same on CF? The engine crew are all real life firefighters from Chicago Fire Department Engine 18? The firehouse is a filming location for ChicagoFire (even though now the show has exact same stages at Cinespace Film Studios). Some of the viewers complain from time to time that the engine guys are mostly invisible and have no line. That's the reason why. They're are not actors...chief Walker whom we saw in this episode is played by the retired chief Steve Chiketotis. He is hugely respected both by the firefighters and by the cast and crew. He is also their technical adviser and the source of most stories (many of them happened with him and/or his friends)...Oh, and Tony Ferraris - Tony, the Squad 3 driver - is a real FF too!

Welcome to this forum, Waterston Fan and FnkyCkkn34! Hope, more peeps from the IMDb boards will join us here :) this episode was incredibly predictable! I had a bet with a couple of fellow CF fans about how soon truck and squad teams will be back at 51. One of my friends assumed they'd drag this SL till the end of the season, another one thought it will be wrapped in the next eppy but I just knew it will be over by the end of this episode. What was the point of it?! To show us how awesome Chief ZbodenBoden is? How professional and dedicated 51 crew is (good-looks no too ;)) as compared to other FHs? That's ridiculous!

Lol! Gabby didn't do anything heroic but she made Casey agree to watch some dumb chick flick and that's something, if you ask me...and generally speaking, she still had more screen time than any other show regular. This was def the Dawsons hour 'cause we saw not only Gabby and her big bro Antonio but also his ex-wife and his son...I was fully expecting to see Ma and Pa Dawson to appear in a sort of weird family reunion, hehe btw, the writing continues to be terribly inconsistent! Sylvie asked the pillar of wisdom Gabby if it was too early for her and Antonio to date. I thought she'd reply that they've been divorced for two years already. But the writers made it look like it was still fresh...
