  1. Exactly! Nearly all of the cast has been flirty (or attempted to be) in some way. Kenya was never "flirty" with anyone, privately. She wasn't pushing up on Apollo trying to get him to take her in some dark corner and touch all over him. She was trying to be funny and provocative, but beyond the very public flirting, what did she do? She didn't try contacting him. She responded to a couple of texts he sent her. She wasn't turning up wherever he was. She wasn't staring at him. She didn't sit outside his house. She didn't send him love letters... there are about a million and one things she DIDN'T do that makes it clear that she had no real interest. The only thing still being held over her head, IMO, is Apollo and Phaedra's lie.. I find Phaedra's flirting with Mr. Watkins a little sleazy and manipulative. I don't think she's interested in that man at all but I do think it's creepy if it's the way she does business. When Kenya was in the video production meeting with the Parks-Nidas, she was straight up professional. I wish Phaedra was that way with Mr. Watkins. When she and Apollo were in their video production meeting with the other company, I CRINGED at the language they used and their demonstrations. I think their business colleagues were a little uncomfortable, too.
  2. The only thing I knew about Kenya before she joined this show was that she as a former beauty queen and an occasional actress. Phaedra and Porsha alluded to the reputation they claimed Kenya had before joining this show during the reunion. I couldn't find any dirt on her when she joined, and I searched to find out what fresh hell was being added to the show. I think Kenya's "past reputation" is a lot like her desperate plea for sex from Apollo - nonexistent I can believe she was 'beauty queen mean", but the other stuff?. The only allegations I've seen are those what have cropped up since the Parks-Nida accusation. The other women acted as if they'd never heard of her before she joined. Most of the gossip was about Porsha, and mostly, that I remember, about Kordell. Suddenly they've heard all this scandalous trash about her? I think Kenya did ok as an actress and producer - more successful than many, but not A-list status. I don't recall that there was a paparazzi following or anyone writing gossip articles about her. I think nearly all of the HWs, across franchises, are relatively interesting, but almost none of them are a list enough for a reputation. Well, except Nene who thinks she is the goddess of all things great and small and that Hollywood is so desperate for her attention that they're leaving piles of scripts at her door. I still keel over laughing when I think about her saying that.
  3. I was a poster at TWOP and don't see it that way. .Did Walter come up? Yes. What came up most? Apollo and PHaedra's lie. I thought it was interesting that Kenya called Kandi out for knowing the relationship with Walter wasn't fake, and Kandi didn't contradict her. She and Walter, apparently had a relationship at some point, or I don't get why he would agree to play a role on the show. It's all too weird. I can't believe Kenya would play the role of desperate unwanted untouched undesirable woman. The thing with Walter is the only thing I think was real out of that season. I think she believed they were rekindling and he wanted to be on TV. I think the crap stirrer stuff was what she was hired to do... try to keep the drama going. Otherwise, I don't know why she would tell Natalie that Christopher said she was no one serious to him. OUCH. Totally uncalled for. I never thought she was really flirting with Apollo as much as I thought she was again, working on the drama. Peter never took it seriously. Walter certainly different. Only poor foolish Apollo did. I can see why the women at the strip club were about to work $$$$ out of him each night.
  4. Exactly. I thought Melissa and Joe lived in a small house and ran his business out of his parents' garage when they were first married. I'm kinda thinking that the house they live in is a damned sight better than the garage they spent most of the day with, even with Antonia when she was born. Give me a break. Teresa definitely insinuated that she had the best of everything as a child, not the best of what a decent blue collar salary could provide. If she was ashamed of her father's job and couldn't be real about it, I think she's a horrible person through and through. The money was enough to keep a roof over her head and she ate. Neither she nor her brother have ever sold a hard luck story about their childhood that I can remember. Her father was able to help bring part of her family over from Italy. He didn't need to be rich. She's an idiot, in my opinion, to think that she's selling her father, like her husband, as some mogul who gave her everything she could ever desire. If she was, then, like she is now - giving her all she desires would seem to be an impossibility. All that money swindled, and even when she was in trouble it didn't stop her from wanting more. She KNOWS she's facing prison time and is telling her husband she still needs new clothes and shoes "for work" because she can't keep wearing the same things twice on television? Joe busted her in their "tell nothing" interview with Andy on WWHL. That dolt actually looked surprised that wasn't the case. \
  5. I'm curious about Teresa's father, too. He owned a shoe repair shop, but during the first reunion she claimed that the reason she can't stand "used" and "not cleansy' houses is that she was use to having the best of everything because her father always gave her everything she wanted. Was that an exaggeration? A lie? Was he making money from something other than a shoe repair shop? It's an honest living, but I've never heard of anyone getting rich operating one small shoe repair business. I would think they had a decent, comfortable life.
  6. As much as PHaedra makes my skin crawl, I couldn't believe Chuck, who is equally creepy - in my book, would do something like that. Phaedra is now a woman with children and did not deserved to be publicly shamed. Chuck is a parent and has to realize that what he said would come back to Phaedra's kids, at some point, just as his - and his wife's, idiotic behavior would come back to their children. That being said, it all makes me dislike Phaedra even more. She was clearly wounded by Chuck's trash talk. She even told him that her husband would not appreciate the way he spoke to her. (Though at the PJ party from hell, Apollo focused on the man Kenya spends her time with, no matter his sexuality, rather than "clearing the air" with Chuck). Phaedra is supposed to be smart, so she should have had some insight that what she was doing to Kenya (based on a false allegation) what Chuck did to her (though I don't doubt their history). I don't think any other group of HWs are into shaming women like the wives and husbands of this franchise. They seem to live for the day they can "read" and "shade" and viciously attack the women of this show using public shaming. Porsha comes across as being dumb as a box of rocks, but felt she could shame Kenya over Apollo's lies and even tried to rewrite Kenya's history to label her an "old whore". She was fine with calling out Kenya for something she hadn't done, but when Kenya turned the tables and called her a dumb slut, that railcar-to-freedom lovin' twit lost her mind and attacked Kenya. Porsha didn't even jump out of her seat when Kenya let loose that rumor about her cheating on her husband... nope, it was being called "dumb slut" that did it for her. The Atlanta housewives have missed about three decades of progress in women's rights, in my opinion. They are the most backwards group, in my opinion. I would like to see Bravo dump almost all of them (keeping Kenya and Cynthia) and hire women whose thoughts are at least in this century.
  7. It's funny that the rap against Kenya is never that she's an inappropriate flirt. It's never that she is too immature. It's never that she tries too hard to get people to like her. It's always "Moore-whore-a" or "home wrecker" or some other ignorant dreck based on the lie told by the parks-nida duo. Phaedra got the biggest (sickest, IMO) applause for telling her that her child could be an axe-murderer who needed money for a pizza because she's such a whore no man wants her. The anger at Kenya all seems to be directed to the lie that was told. How she's refrained from suing the hell out of Phaedra and Apollo is a mystery, to me. What the government didn't take, I would have. Phaedra had the option of simply not liking Kenya, but she continued to repeat (and I can't believe a qualified attorney would do this) on national television and on radio, that her husband was propositioned for oral sex by Kenya. It's just unreal to me.
  8. For me, there are two big issues that make Apollo's (and Phaedra's) comments about Kenya almost unforgivable. 1 - without the lies (and they became Phaedra's once she repeated them without proof), the worst that would have been said about Kenya was something to the effect that she'd taken Phaedra's idea an ran with it. Kenya might even be knocked around for being a little "too much", but who would be calling her a whore, considering she wasn't sleeping around or trying to? The Nida-Parks duo put that label out there based on something 100% not true. 2 - It matters to me that Kenya was a part of history for something significant - redefining standards of beauty that included African American women. 2nd African American Miss USA? First woman with a dark complexion to take a national beauty title? That matters to A LOT to women of color. What has Apollo contributed to our community? What are Phaedra's contributions? To defame a woman whose accomplishments actually affected millions of people? Bullshit. Over a lie? More bullshit. Shame on Phaedra and Apollo. To me is says that they have very small minds.
  9. It stunned the hell out of me when people bought it. It seemed like such an obvious and mindless lie and coming from Apollo? I thought it was even more suspect! I don't think Phaedra has the character to apologize. An apology is not about the other person, it's about your own character and integrity. I just can't see her having enough integrity to do the right thing. I trust Phaedra as much as I trust her husband. Her honesty was on display when she told to Cynthia about never using foul language and never saying an unkind thing about her -- cue the recorded message of Phaedra doing both. Exactly! Even I don't believe that Phaedra dumb or irrational enough to believe that either of them was soliciting sex on camera. I think she just couldn't stand the thought of the truth coming out - that Apollo lied and it seems likely that she's known for some time. Back to the issue of whether she lies. ICAM about your point that she said she dropped the issue, but clearly she hadn't when she referring to Kenya - who never touched her husband, as a whore the entire season, including in the talking head interviews.
  10. I have never found little Milania "cute" and given the lack of restraint her parents have shown in their own lives, her behavior bothers me more. I hope she learns structure from somewhere. She's more out of control each year and I think Teresa, in particular, enjoys the camera time it brings the family. Joe doesn't look as amused by Milania. NOW Bravo execs are questioning whether Teresa's salary is worth it in light of plummeting ratings? http://www.mstarz.com/articles/34404/20140728/real-housewives-of-new-jersey-ratings-continue-to-fall-despite-teresa-giudices-legal-issues-rhonj-new-girl-drama.htm I think Bravo did a lot to try to prop Teresa as the show's breakout and that could lead a show. I don't think she was anything more than and easily replaceable source of contention for the other HWs, who apparently weren't all that easy to replace.
  11. I saw Kenya being playful with Peter, Apollo, and the island official who attended that night's dinner. She seemed to be trying to get Walter's attention. She danced up on Peter. I don't understand how one trip, years before, is evidence she's done something awful when we have seen nothing else. Even after Apollo admitted she did nothing wrong, she can't seem to get the benefit of the doubt. Kenya seems to be guilty of being a "expletive" for not sleeping with or chasing Apollo. She didn't try to contact him. He contacted her. She didn't pursue anything with him. Kenya seems to be held accountable for the imaginary misbehavior taking place in Apollo and Phaedra's heads. If I told the world another person did something they did not do, I believe I'm a decent enough person to make a public apology. I think this has nothing to do with Kenya, but is a test of Phaedra (lack of?) character.
  12. I don't understand why it would be easier for Kenya to have sex with Apollo with everyone around (plus camera) rather than pursue him off camera between seasons? Apollo's story never made sense and neither did Phaedra in retelling it. Apollo was drooling over Kenya. She hasn't had a kind word to say to or about him since the video deal went bad. Poor Kenya was too easy a target for Apollo and Phaedra.
  13. WimminWinning I agree with everything you've written and THANK YOU for watching that episode and recapping it. It's the way I remember it too. Kenya is not responsible for any lie Apollo tells and HE told them. Kenya is the innocent, since she's done nothing wrong. The constant attacks on Kenya, as much from Porsha as Phaedra, were horrible and very un-Christian for someone who screams out for Jesus to" fix it". Porsha came to the reunion calling Kenya a whore for something she'd NEVER done. It led to Porsha's empty-headed amped up attack on Kenya. I find it interesting that Kenya isn't guilty of trying to sleep with that caveman so now she has to be guilty of something, anything, anything that justifies the hatred spewed in her direction. She can never win if that is the case. She is still being asked, in some cases, to bear more responsibility than the people who went on national television and lied about her. RealityGal, I always believed that Apollo was lying, and that Phaedra most likely knew it was a lie, but Mexico convinced me. Why would Phaedra care if Apollo was talking with Kenya in room full of people? In my opinion, she sounded more like an attorney with a client than a wife speaking about her husband (You are not to speak with my husband without me present). Really?
  14. They reportedly took that much money out of the company, but unless they were spending like drunken sailors, I don't remember them doing anything crazy. I can see where the Giudices spent their money (tons of luxury cars, huge monster house full of expensive tacky finishes), designer clothes and shoes, garish furniture, and giving designer dishware, multiple homes). The Lauritas are discreet if they spent all that 8 million. I applaud them for not buying a Flintstone style beach house (and since I think JoeGi looks like Barney Rubble, the house seems to fit). Has the court decided that CL was within his right to take that money from the company? No matter what the court decides, I'm much too curious about what they did with the money. The Giudices are flashy. I wonder is the Lauritas banked their cash. Still hooking up? It's so hard for me to see Dina as anything close to the person she tries to project. How awful for her if it's true.
  15. Sorry, I can't get the spoiler tag to show and I've tried several times. This is just a reminder that this is a spoiler for Season 7, before you read on. On camera, Apollo FINALLY admits he lied about Kenya. http://www.allaboutthetea.com/2014/07/24/apollo-nida-finally-comes-clean-about-kenya-moore-pursuing-him/ Phaedra went to talk show after talk show telling the story of Kenya harassing her husband at a hotel. He had to change rooms (without telling her) to get away from Kenya. She offered her oral sex. Together they, and the other HWs, told the world that Kenya chased Apollo and that she needed to leave married men alone. 1 - Does anyone buy Phaedra being in the dark about the lie? I don't. I think she thought Apollo would keep quiet. 2 - Will she apologize? Can't see it ever happening. 3 - How did they think that weak story could last? 4 -What about the other HWs? They engendered a lot of hatred toward Kenya for something she didn't do, Kandi in particular. I think the HWs have a real mess on their hands.
  16. F'love! Dina might want to ask Jacq for help, instead of continuing to buy her own press. I wonder if Dina's personality is flat only on television. She can't be that dull in person, right? Please? Give a girl some hope! I don't buy Dina leaving the guy because he was a cheater. He was a cheater when she dated him and seemed to be up until she married him. Maybe she hoped he would stop. Given the difference in relationships I see Jacq's marriage as real. Her husband is on film with her. He stands up for her even against his lying sisters (and he knew they were lying). He Had Caroline back off of his wife. Dina has a rocky relationship, it seems, with ex 1, and her then husband, ex 2, didn't want to be seen on film with her. I also don't buy that Dina loves money less than Jacqueline. Jacqueline doesn't live an expensive, outrageous lifestyle, that I remember. I don't think we've ever seen her shop until she dropped. She wouldn't even buy Ashley a car - Chris did it. She doesn't fill her house with crap, like Dina does - I hate when they film inside Dina's home. I've always been distracted by the tables chock full of crap everywhere.
  17. WOWZA! One of my fave quotes of all times, LOL! I have, regrettably, seen that commercial. I laughed, I cried, I used all of the brain bleach I could find (i.e. good stuff to try to replace that image). It doesn't help. It. Does. Not. Help. ;)) I don't think anyone at Bravo can afford to deny that there are REAL problems (hee hee) with the Real Housewives of NJ. If the premiere didn't bring fans in, after banking on the criminals' conviction being major news, they have no where to go but DOWN (and by ep. 2, that happened). I couldn't make it through the entire episode. The Twins' family are as narcissistic and delusional as the Giudices, in my opinion. If they brag one more time about their greatness (While Nicole Gump and Doze-while-awake Dina Manzo put the audience to sleep over the various types of Kale) I won't be able to my kids playing outside from all of the screaming escaping from me! I tried to tune in. The second was worse than the first. Rino makes me seriously miss Richie. ETA Ratings Summary: http://bravoratings.com/2014/05/15/real-housewives-of-new-jersey-season-6-ratings/
  18. ICAM, Motorcitymom, including your earlier point about HWs that were maybe unlikable, but still watchable. Danielle was that for me, in the beginning. I didn't hate her, but did dislike her more than I can say that I liked her. I couldn't understand why no one, who cared for her that is, told her to stop being so creepy. Her relationship with her girls felt real and made her redeemable, for me. All in my opinion, not a statement of fact, but: Dina always seemed to be use Lexi as evidence she as a great person, in my book. Caroline was too controlling. Teresa's girls were props and she was pushing too hard to turn them into "moneymakers".Jacqueline and Ashley's relationship was just terrible. Overall the various dynamics made the entire crew interesting to watch, for me. I can't see Teresa carrying a commercial, much less an entire show.
  19. I think Jacq may be "bitchy" because she has been dealing with the real Dina for so long. I can imagine that Caroline protected Dina as she did the entire time Jacq knew her (and Caroline was not nice to Jacq initially, from the story about why Jacq slapped Caroline). That twitter exchange between the two (shutting Dina down) makes me wonder what hell Dina put Jacqueline through.
  20. I think if the format was the problem, all of the HWs shows would be in trouble. OC is fine and had a bit of a ratings bump the same week NJ fell hard. NYC has been steadily declining, but no show has posted the huge ratings dump that NJ has posted. A quarter of the audience tuning out is unprecedented. Ratings didn't drop like this at the height of the in-family fighting, last season. I agree with those who've said that the Giudices' criminal activity, along with the sense of betrayal has really hurt this show. Bravo sold the audience a lie about who the Giudices were and I have to wonder if fans aren't thinking that Bravo was somehow complicit in pushing that lie. Bravo, as partners to the couple, even brought them back and allowed them to use their children (for sympathy?) Surely filming the show gave off huge red flags about how the Giudices were really living. I don't believe Dina was ever a draw to the show. The new wives make me want to tear my hair out at the sound of their voices. I'm happy to read about the show from now on. I would be shocked if Bravo didn't edit in more Kathy, Jacqueline, Caroline scenes to try to get some fans to tune back in. I don't think those women kept the rating high on their own. I agree with those who've said that this show was set apart from the others because the relationships were real. Those three felt more real to me than anything NJ offers now. I thought NJ was more of an ensemble than the other HW franchises as well. Teresa saw herself, I think, as the breakout, but I never thought she could run a show as the lead. For me she's far too unlikable.
  21. I wonder if Josh really loves strong women (given his endless complimenting of Heather) or if he uses that just to get under Kristen's skin. I think he likes his women pretty, dumb, and quiet. Kristen just won't stay quiet. ;) j/k I don't think she's dumb, but I do think she's clueless about the man she married, given the way he treats her. He seems to take glee in publicly humiliating her and I don't know why she tolerates it. He's a good provider, she says, but I don't think he's independently wealthy so I can't see her sticking around for money he doesn't have. I think she genuinely loves him.
  22. I like the friendship between Carole and Heather, it feels genuine. I just don't like either Carole or Heather - they are too self indulgent but can only see it in others, namely Sonja and Ramona (also extremely self indulgent). The scenes from next week make me cringe. Carole must be hell to live with, since she can never seem to let anything go. Kristen's crying drives me crazy - I think she behaves like the little girl Josh seems to want her to be so he can easily dismiss her. I hope the post nuptial talk means there is no prenup and that Kristen has smart attorneys. I think her days as the wife of douchey Josh are numbered. LuAnn, uh, Countess LuAnn, walking off with seemingly drunken Harry must make Jacques feel lucky to have gotten out of that relationship. The guy suffered public humiliation after the St. Barth's scenes, and now she's walking off from a party with Harry? Sonja did make the break up about her and failed to show LuAnn the attention she clearly wanted/needed, but HARRY? LuAnn has hot messy mess written all over her. I thought the BH wives were the least likable. RHONY tops that list for me, now.
  23. The season opener has lost 1/4 of its viewership, so far. Too many newbies at once? No fun watching criminals being paid excessive income? Do more fans miss the Manzo-Laurita clan than Bravo assumed? Dina's zen schtick already worn off on the audience? I'm in favor of an "all of the above" option.
  24. I despise this about her like you wouldn't believe. It's so disgustingly selfish! I still remember the tenants who were out on the streets - after paying rent, so she and her husband could live their "normal" life. Some of those people had children. She just never seems to express sympathy for anyone other than herself.
  25. If HG's writers were this funny, they would have a great show on their hands. I give the show credit for trying. Something crucial is missing from the writing.
