  1. His team was totally giving him death glares. Emelia's "TAKE THAT OCTOPUS OFF THE HIBACHI" and "so hard to watch, isn't it?" 😂 Ooh I can't. But darling Brendan to the rescue! It's kinda weird now as the contestants aren't hugging every two minutes. It isn't necessarily a bad thing. But I must say the air hugs were pretty adorable! I'm slowly coming to terms with my inexplicable infatuation with Jock (and have reasoned that I've probably been indoors for WAY too long). It's actually pretty neat, 'cause I don't have to constantly worry about whether he's the next one to go home!
  2. Haa, I do that as well with eliminations & pressure tests! I like to know beforehand who's going home. Thank you @katisha 😄
  3. I'd be really surprised if Jess had children - she's so young and IIRC, I've never heard her talking about any kids. Perhaps she meant something else. 🤔 Reece is looking super good, kudos to him for losing all that weight! It ain't easy. His new hair (or lack thereof) also suits him very well, I think. I love Poh. Usually I don't care for people who laugh at their own jokes, but for some reason, with her I just find it kinda adorable. 😄 But I do agree with other posters that the Faux Poh Edit is not doing her much favors.
  4. Agreed. I don't care for her, but I don't think she meant anything bad by it. Most people in other forums seem to really dislike her as well. Aww, Brendan. 🥰 I 100% thought he was straight! Just goes to show that you can't ever tell by appearance.
  5. Oh wow. Phew. Simon had me very worried for a second there! This is so painfully true. There's only one person left that I dislike (Laura - my feelings haven't changed from her initial season) and unfortunately for me, I don't think she's going anywhere for a good while. The rest I like; some more than others, but still, only one person left that I'd like to get off my TV. That is indeed very rare, and I hereby predict that I'm going to be very stressed out during the future episodes. 😅
  6. Here's a long-ish Daily Mail article on Ben: https://outline.com/2kxS9m (It may be the same stuff as in the links already posted here, but thought I'd mention it anyway.) Yikes. Well, I suppose now I don't have to feel bad for him! It was to me - I had absolutely no idea. 😄 But then of course, AU celebrities don't very often appear in gossip rags in this side of the world.
  7. Jeez, Brendan. I love you, but if there's clearly something wrong with the dish, DON'T send it out! I was very glad that someone finally brought up the fact that yelling "go [insert color here] team!!", "we've got this!", "keep going, guys!" etc. in a team challenge means nothing at all. It's my pet peeve when a team captain does that after they've been told by the judges that they need to be more captain-y. Also, someone needs to tell Brendan that being assertive doesn't mean yelling and going all Gordon Ramsay on people, as he seemed to think so in one of his talking heads. You know, I was wondering why I couldn't stand her in her season and now I suddenly find her hilarious. Either she's really changed or her edit was less flattering earlier. Too many people I'm fond of in the pressure test again. PS: I think I'm developing a crush on Jock. I find this highly worrisome. Please send help.
  8. The rational part of my brain is like "it was time for Hayden to go, his skills set just wasn't quite there for this competition", yet the woman part of my brain is like "Hayden nooooo 😭" Ouch. Way to give Ben the cold shoulder, show! It was like "So Ben had to leave... [a couple of shots of shocked faces] ... Well anyway, MOVING ON!" I know I didn't always agree with Ben on his wacky ice creams and stuff, but I must admit that I do feel bad for him (although that may yet change depending on what he was arrested for). I've gotten the impression that he took his loss in S9 pretty hard and that it really meant a lot for him to be a part of the competition, this year and earlier. E: What season was it where they had to blow those sugar balls (teehee) in the finale? I remember how hard it was for them and Reynold's like "nah dis no good, gonna make another one".
  9. This. And I swear, if he says "epic" one more time, I'm gonna throw a fit.
  10. "She's been singing our theme song for 12 years" doesn't exactly hold true for me as the episodes that air here in Finland have had a completely different theme song since S1, and I definitely prefer that to Hot & Cold. I wonder if Hot & Cold's the theme song only in the episodes shown in AU, and they use a different song in all the international broadcasts...? I don't like Katy Perry's music (and tbh, I don't trust anybody who doesn't like white chocolate 😁), but she was okay-ish as a guest judge and I definitely liked this twist better than the ones at the beginning of the week. Also, Reece was so cute fangirling!
  11. I did exactly that. With my cat, of course, not yours. She scratched me, but it helped. (Tho' I can mentally hug your cat too! Never enough cats to be hugged!) [chokes on tea]
  12. Okay, that episode made no fucking sense whatsoever. I'd be more okay with taking away recipes if it wasn't A) a sweet dish, as measurements etc. really matter and if you don't have them, you're pretty screwed, and B) if it wasn't SOMEBODY ELSE'S DISH. You kinda need a recipe to recreate SOMEBODY ELSE'S DISH. I'm pissed. Jess is a sweetie.
  13. So far it feels as dumb and annoying as the last(?) season's Secrets Week. AMEN. 🙏
  14. Ooh, Adam for sure. ❤️ I think he's my favourite out of all the winners, closely followed by Diana.
  15. Weeee, we have a forum! 🤗 If this was any of the seasons from 1 to 7, contestants would've been given a map to Melissa's house and they would've needed to deliver the food by themselves. Cooking time would've been an hour INCLUDING the delivery time. These things they're doing now are so easy compared to the crazy shit the contestants had to pull off in the earlier seasons, and though I do think they need to challenge the cooks and force them out of their comfort zone more, I'm glad we're over all that "pick your ingredients in the pitch-black pantry" and "you've got two hours of cooking time and it includes having to run around in a city (and country) you've never been to trying to find specific ingredients, good luck!" BS. I always wanted to shake my TV and scream "this isn't Amazing Race, I just want to see some good food!!!" I knew it that by saying I like Chris more now I'd be jinxing him. Oh well.
  16. I'm thinking "turf Andy and bring back Matt Moran!" 😄 Bummed that Brendan didn't make it to top 3.
  17. I'm just parroting everybody else now, but I'm very glad that the orange team is safe because most of my favorites - except for Poh & Simon, and maybe Tessa - were there. Khanh did well and I love him. 🥰 (And I thought it was a little endearing how he called Andy "honey".) Rose, please go home! Poh and Simon (and Tessa), please don't go home! I noticed that Chris had a tattoo of the Grinch on his arm, and I like him a little more now. I frickin' LOVED that yellow dress she had on during the second or third episode. If nothing else, she's a good dress-up inspiration. (I sound like an old sexist, but there, I said it. 😄)
  18. Hmm, true. I didn't think of that. DANI! Should've used your pin, gurl! The curse of Loki lives on. Can't say I'm too gutted though, because out of those five, losing Dani definitely stings the least. I want those butties Simon made in my mouth right now. I haven't eaten bread for three weeks due dieting and I desperately miss it. 😭
  19. But it's possible that the other contestants are as much in the dark as we are regarding the reason he was arrested, and continue to leave him messages without knowing what he did. Personally, and I'm not basing this on anything at all, I think it's money related. Tax evation or a fraud or something.
  20. [whispers] Andy, not Adam. 😉 But I agree with you wholeheartedly.
  21. Jess is clearly living in the Upside Down Land - she makes a dessert using parsnip and parsley and a savory dish using eggs and fruit. But it seems to work, so good for her! 😊
  22. Well, forget about Sarah T - the turd that Hayden made in the pressure test is in a class of its own.
  23. Same here with Masterchef Finland. And IMO the Masterchef Junior US is way better than their regular version. Reruns of S7 are on here at the moment and I tried to watch an episode once, but I immediately hated everyone there and just couldn't go on. I've seen two seasons in full, I don't remember the numbers but the one that the stripper won and the one after that, but that was before I was aware of this thing called MCAU. You're not wrong. 😄 Initially I liked the idea of a live cook, but the constant yelling and screaming really got to my nerves at some point. I like Jock more and more as the season progresses. Love the accent. ❤️
  24. Wrong Ben went home. 😐 I feel like it's equally ridiculous that Laura's mentor/ex-boss is a judge. Although, with that said, I don't think there's been any blatant favoring as of yet. And like SnideAsides pointed out, those kind of connections are almost inevitable. But he can hardly skate through the whole competition making nothing but fancy, teeny-weeny desserts. (Can he??) And speaking of that, I wish they'd challenge the competitors a bit more. Thus far they've had very free hands as to what they're cooking, and many, of course, want to cook what they're familiar with. Make them cook something unfamiliar! Pick a cuisine nobody knows anything about! I don't know, something! Of course most of them are awesome cooks when they cook what they're normally cooking every day. To me, the best ones can cook an incredible dish with ingredients that are unfamiliar to them. Now off to watch Monday's episode! E: Forgot to say that I could've made what Hayden made. And believe me, that's saying a lot, because I am a horrendous cook. I love Hayden, but... boy. The chips were from a packet, for the love of god! What did he do for 75 minutes??
  25. Not to mention that he mistook a fish curry for a chicken curry. I thought that was the kind of mistake you might've made in S1. Oh Benny. I'm still very curious as to what he was arrested for. I wonder if we'll ever know. Sarah's dish did not look like a winner's dish to me, but I can believe it tasted yummy and I'm glad she won (she was my #2 pick after Khanh). Not a huge fan of Laura.
