  1. So I watched the first episode and oh yeah, I'm in to stay for sure. It was so sickly sweet that I think my fillings fell out, but I loved it (which is no surprise since I love most sickly sweet things)! So wholesome and that's exactly what I need in my life right now. And obviously they're super mega talented. This was a signature dish so they've had time to practice it, but still. That Laura girl has like exquisite plans for her future restaurant and she's, what, 13? I'm 31 and I still don't know what I want to do with my life!
  2. I haven't had a chance to watch this yet, as, unfortunately, I have to rely on streaming sites to see this and while the regular version was usually there pretty quickly after airing, that doesn't seem to be the case with this one. πŸ˜• I am, however, excited that this begun. I haven't seen the earlier seasons, but I feel like this could be my thing as I, since the competitors are juniors, probably won't develop an irrational hate or love towards any of them, which then would take away from the actual viewing experience (see: below). I can just concentrate on being in awe of their mad skillz and fantasizing about Jock. πŸ˜„ While I can't reassure you, I'm hoping so too. I've had enough of Reynold for one lifetime - jeez, even seeing his name makes me tick - and I at least hope that the ones who do make fancy desserts won't be compared to him too much. ETA: Literally two minutes after I posted, I found it. Off to watch!
  3. Tell me about it. It's just kind of stupid. Why not call yourself a Breathing Ninja or a Ninja With Arms and Legs? That's just about as unique. I know it's probably what the network/producers want, but still, I'd love it if being a great athlete could be enough of a schtick.
  4. ^ Oh, that's pretty cool! Sounds like he's got some confidence as well!
  5. A question, now that we have a premiere date for the Junior Masterchef: shall we be talking about it in here? Are people generally interested in discussing about it? I know I am. πŸ˜„
  6. Another great episode. Love Jessie, Najee and the honorable Mr. Campbell (WTF was that leap on the Lunatic Ledges?? Awesome!). R.J. Roman is one of my all-time favorites and I'm SUPER happy he won the Tower - especially against Bryan whom I don't especially care for. Those honeycombs just made me hungry. After how many years do you guys think a Ninja becomes a "veteran"? Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit silly when Matt and Akbar say things like "a three-time veteran"?
  7. Jake Murray = do not like. Upon learning that Jake Murray builds cat towers = suddenly do like! What can I say. I'm easy that way. If there are cats involved, it is impossible to not like. I had to LOL at him a little bit because I thought that he eats away screen time even when he's not really involved in the episode. Not that I mind, though! Ditto!
  8. Yeah. I do wish they would address the situation even by a few words, but I doubt it. Can we please have all the future competitions without a crowd? Other random notes: - They're still milking the "first mom up the warped wall" thing? Jesus, just give it a rest! - The only sob story I watched was Flip's. And yes, I sobbed. No shame. - So happy for Alyssa! - If I were the one to decide, Grant would wear nothing but the Pineapple Speedosℒ️ for the rest of the season. πŸ€ͺ I think this season is going to be short, but all the more sweeter!
  9. High five! I was a massive pro wrestling fan for ten years. Not so much anymore, but the sport still has a place in my heart. Maybe that's why I've come to like Flexington - he raises some warm memories. It felt good to have some Ninja back. Drew who? It's a real shame though that they had to edit out so much stuff because of one idiot. Loved the Double Dipper Diving.
  10. I can't imagine what Flip must be going through during this whole Drew situation. πŸ˜•
  11. I haven't gotten any notifications from this thread since I've forgotten to follow it - just came to see if there was any news about the new season and WOW. It's no secret that I never liked Drew and have thought that he's kind of a POS ever since his petty feud from years back with [I'mForgettingHisName]. I wasn't expecting anything like this, though. I do agree with @Hellga - I absolutely believe in 'innocent until proven guilty', but the charges seem pretty aggravating. It's not like it's some flimsy social media rumor - which can ruin lives regardless of their authenticity - or something. Judging by the reportage, he knew perfectly well she was under the age of consent and still continued. It really ticks me off that some people have everything - good looks, great health, loving spouse, newborn child, fame and money - and they choose to ruin it all with awful and stupid shit like that. I'm not going to lie - I'm happy we likely won't see him again. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ But then also: YAY, new season! I'll take 8 episodes any day!
  12. Netflix has so many reality competitions that I'm struggling to keep up, but I just finished S1 and am about to start watching S2. I really like it. The competitors are likable and really talented (I've been doing make-up since I was 12 years old and 19 years later I don't have enough talent to make my eyebrows the same shape). Val Garland endlessly repeating "ding dong" annoys me. Believe me honey, it isn't going to be the next Big Catchphrase. I hope there's going to be season 3!
  13. And a banana sundae. A. BANANA. SUNDAE. One that was apparently SO delicious that it saved her ass even though it wasn't even her original dish but a last-minute afterthought after the original failed! But seriously, though I never actively disliked her, I'm still shocked that she won. I was 101% sure that either Tessa or Simon were going to and Larissa was just kinda... there, as some kind of a side note. Like "oh well, they wanted a top 3, so she has to be there as well, but SURELY she doesn't stand a chance".
  14. Ah, well, yes, that was pretty disappointing. πŸ˜„ But at least I liked Lynton so there was somebody to root for, and while I thought she didn't deserve to win - or to be in the top 2 in the first place - I actually didn't hate Emma either. But man, that season was w-e-i-r-d.
  15. I haven't seen the coat in question, but LMAO. Imagine if he had, as a way of revenge of not getting to the finals. I must say I haven't missed Gary & George one bit, but I do occasionally miss Matt (and his wardrobe) who was always the best of the bunch to me. And I can only imagine how alone I am with this opinion, but I hope they keep Jock. πŸ˜„ Mel too, but Andy can be kicked to the curb as far as I'm concerned. (Though I'm ready to give him another chance if he's any better in Junior Masterchef - which I'm going to have to watch if Jock's in it.) Also check out Chef's Line if you haven't already! It's pretty good and she judges there as well.
  16. ^ If I could like that A THOUSAND TIMES, I would. 😭❀️
  17. I wish I could feel that way, but nope. πŸ˜„ Well, at least Laura didn't win (and Reynold, don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out!), but all this completely fell flat to me after a promising beginning, because apparently I just can't get over my dislike towards certain people (OR my liking towards people who then go home too early). I can't remember a more disappointing top 2 in the history of this series - except maybe S10, and even that wasn't as bad since I liked Sashi a lot, but it was just SO obvious he was going to win. Now it's just... blergh all the way around. I'll start watching Chef's Line next, at least with that I can't get needlessly attached to people since they're there for one week only!
  18. Well, poo. I haven't been watching since Khanh left, but I've been lurking here and reading all of y'all comments. Now that Poh and Callum are gone, there's no one for me to root for and let me just say that this is the exact top 3 I was dreading for since episode one. I (still) can't stand Laura and Reynold's comments made me lose all the respect I had for him. Emelia I can just about watch without rage filling up my insides, but I wouldn't quite call it equivalent to "rooting". Still - as unfortunately I suspect there isn't going to be a last-minute surprise episode where all the eliminated contestants come back (how marvelous would that be!) - if one of those three has to win, I hope it'll be her. Still lusting after Jock. Still not getting it. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
  19. ^ Right! It's not like he said "I don't accept homosexuality because of my culture/religion/XYZ" or something like that (I wouldn't approve of that either, but it would at least make it a bit more understandable) - he went all out. And I realize the nature of that forum, and get that people probably say shit like that all the time in there. Still... not cool.
  20. I kinda agree. Of course he says he's sorry and he's not that person anymore now that's it out there. I feel like if you're, say, 40+ and you're being crucified for something you said when you were 20, you can make a claim that you've grown from that and it's more believable. Six years isn't such a long time, I feel - more so because what he said was really quite hateful. I mean, can you really go from "homos are mentally ill freaks who should be put on an island" to "I wholeheartedly support them and care deeply for them" in 6 years? Or in a lifetime, for that matter? I guess it's possible, but I'm skeptical. And moreover, even if you felt like that way about gay people, what makes you want to spew that poison out loud? Like really? God knows I wasn't the most mature human being at 20, but it would never ever even cross my mind to go on a discussion forum and say something like that, no matter what the topic. Ever. Either way, even if he has grown from that, the fact that he has actually felt like that at some point in time is enough for me to feel VERY disappointed.
  21. Puke. People can be disgusting. I feel like I need to put on my little tin foil hat now, but I just read a heated online argument about how S1 was "rigged" because Poh was more deserving of the win than Julie (and they had some valid points about how badly Julie did in some of the challenges and yet it was always somebody else who went home instead of her), but Julie was more marketable plus they didn't want to give the win of the first MCAU to a person with Asian background. And then when S10 was ending, there were the rumors that Ben B. was only in the finale because they didn't want to have a finale with two non-Australian natives there, thus omitting Khanh. I don't know if it's true, but it made sense to me at the time, because Ben sure as F wasn't in the finale because of his cooking skills. I'm not sure what my point is, but I'd be interested to hear you guys' thoughts about whether that's believable at all or just some silly conspiracy. (Sorry about the OT!)
  22. https://www.tiktok.com/@masterchefau/video/6817559812268772614?refer=embed&utm_source=embed&source=h5_t Harry and Courtney apparently weren't happy with the new, non-cringy opening credits. πŸ˜‚
  23. The appliances they had to use were a stand mixer, a food processor and a blender (I think), though I can't remember what the green team's equipment was out of those. But no pressure cooker. I think they would've missed the brief if they were told to use it and they ended up not to.
