My assumption when I see these bits of randomness (especially in this case) is that they’re going to make sense later. They’re dropping breadcrumbs that will tie together in future seasons. But I could be totally wrong and really were just random. Lol

So I’ve only read the first book (I know I know, I need to get back to reading the rest in the next few months!), and admittedly have not read through this entire thread, but has there been any speculation on what the title of this book could mean?

I have nothing to add because I barely remember these Paris episodes. I’m not a fan and have done no rewatches of them. I think I’m trying to erase them from my brain. Lol

I enjoyed this episode. They packed a lot in but still felt pretty relaxed, although of course I wish it had been a longer episode. Still very enjoyable. I too always just heard about the MacDonalds and Campbells. So many enemies! Lol. And yes, I thought the same about Sara Fraser, seemed to be one fun lady and handled the guys very well.

Such an annoying trait, all of them. Yes! Thought the same thing. The historian, who is unphased by history all around him. Go figure. Would have seemed logical to show this.

Agreed. I think I did a lot of fast forwarding through this episode. I did absolutely love the ending though. That was good. Realizing they’d landed in the colonies, and then the sweeping shot of the coast was worth the price of admission. 😂😂😂

Agreed. I’m sure there’s some funny stuff going on between those two and the crew that we’re not seeing. I was just thinking tonight while I was driving about the scene at the end, during the credits, when they were talking about their first nude scene in a play and Graham said how his parents were there and afterwards Graham’s dad said to him, “there was no need for that Graham, no need”😂😂 Beautiful episode though (well they all are of course!), and poor Graham and that cliff. Yikes. At least the midges are still biting Sam😀

Yeah, this episode was not great. But I don’t think they’re doing a bad job of aging Claire and Jamie. They’re what, in their mid to late 40’s now? That’s not that old.

I don’t understand why they didn’t get a kid who looks like him more either, he was a good actor, but looked nothing like him. And I too thought it was going to be a set up when Jamie came to her room!! I was holding my breath!! And that’s a great point about seeing Murtagh’s name on the prison list. Never thought about that! Yes it really bothered me too that Claire suddenly had no interest in historical records of Jamie and all the others she knew. Very irritating!

Agreed. That’s pretty much how I watched seasons 3-5 and now when I rewatch any episodes. Sound is so much better with headphones. You pick up so much more. And so many scenes are dark anyway, it’s easier to watch in a dark room.

Not sure how you guys feel about behind the scenes stuff but since you mentioned it I’ll add that according to exec producer/show runner Ron Moore, at least at the time Tobias handled it fine. It was Sam who was struggling at times during filming.

You’re a Claire fangirl?? And here I thought we were frustrated together by her. Lol. While she definitely has her strengths, I would never say I’m a fangirl of hers. She drives me crazy too much. Too many times up to this point she put others in peril because she thought she knew the 18th century better than Jamie.🙄
