  1. JenK’s last year on the squad, she looked like she had gained weight. Going off memory here, but the scene where the vets are learning the audition piece, I remember noticing it. There was an angle where you can only see her leg or torso and I rewound/fastforwarded to figure out who it was. That shot made her look awful. Then the following year when she filled in consistently as an all star, she was certainly bigger than the other girls.
  2. But for those years, they knew either would would be competent and they just needed to pick one. This year they may not be confident in either one alone. After watching recent videos I’m team Caroline for point all the way. If not a second year, then heather or Gina.
  3. Agreed. I find it obnoxious that these underweight, size 000, BMI 14 women had to dance to that song. It’s not like Queen only has one recognizable hit song
  4. Totally agree. Jinelle was definitely more dcc glam than Maddie and just as good in the dcc style
  5. And jacie that year. I don’t think anyone guessed holly a.
  6. I agree with you theoretically that if they made the team, by definition they should have the look. However, my personal opinion is that is exactly why Allie and little heather were cut. The look was good enough the year they made the team, but not the following year.
  7. She also said something similar to Courtney who got my fit foods with the vets who said something like I haven’t weighed that since high school
  8. I will say I think it’s one of the better videos of VK, but the comparison.... wow! It doesn’t even look like the same dance. VK reminds me of Caila when she was cut for “dancing” heavy
  9. People who don’t follow the show may not be as familiar with the groups and first and second leader nomenclature. Captain may seem less confusing. Though, “I was a leader for three years” would have been clear without being misleading.
  10. Is anyone else expecting to see the “vet move” in VK’s solo at finals?
  11. I was completely agreeing with you, then I got to the MR part and thought we were going in different directions. Then I hit the “I kid” and realized you just might be my new best friend. Agree on it all!
  12. Though I’m pretty sure the right answer in DCC land is “If I make dcc, I’ll wait to try out for SYTYCD another year”
  13. Besides my obvious vote (did you see him rock solos with Jackie Bob?), based purely on watching videos of the DCC dancing and none of the leadership/rulebreaking/sorority/stepping up crap, I think Gina is the best choice. I don’t think Maddie has the look to be where she is in the triangle. And definitely no farther forward. I also hope she retires this year, rather than either become point or get “demoted”. But my opinion is worth exactly what y’all are paying me for it...
  14. She would definitely be a “project” if she made it to training camp. No sliding under the radar for her......
  15. Oh no! Did @LaurenBrook leave?? Phew, at least she still has her account! As a very jaded person, I always appreciate her ability to stay positive 99.99% of the time. (But I love the sass and sarcasm from plenty of other posters too, so please keep that coming as well!!!)
  16. When I focused on only Lacey, it was ok. But when I tried to watch the whole group, it just made my head hurt!
  17. I agree, the management clearly has a history of making different decisions for different girls in similar situations ( ie weight watch vs my fit foods vs workout with jay vs work out with a vet vs surprise home visit by a nutritionist vs cut for those deemed not uniform ready). So there’s no reason to expect consistency internally. Having said that, I also found MR using Angela as her veteran with amazing showmanship in that same season a bit jarring. (Don’t remember episode, sorry). So... she’s good enough to be a group leader, good enough to be highlighted as a rockstar in regards to showmanship, but not good enough for showgroup? That always struck me a bit odd.
  18. These shorts are shorter than my attention span. Regardless of personal opinions on KaShara, that one’s memorable.
  19. Speaking of jump splits... they need Katelyn Ohashi to teach them how it’s done! Now that’s a “wow” performance! Though, sadly, she’d probably decline given the scrutiny on these young women’s bodies and her personal experience as an elite gymnast. Ok so maybe we weren’t talking about the jump splits, but I was trying to keep it relevant to this thread. She’s amazing! https://www.dailynews.com/2019/01/14/watch-ucla-gymnast-katelyn-ohashis-viral-floor-routine-earns-perfect-10/
  20. How could I forget?!? Thanks for including that one. Definitely a hall of fame moment.
  21. I agree. Hard to compete with “Lucid Dream” but I think the Cassie/Ally/Taylor fiasco deserves honorable mention. And any time Kaitlin LeGrand was in the office her second training camp.
  22. As I recall, Shelly had run practice that evening and based on context, Jenna was clearly surprised at having been assigned a position other than point for a future performance. So it’s not like she randomly called up shelly out of the blue to ask her. I also think it was arguably better to wait until after practice (which she did), as opposed to creating a scene during practice. Though in person probably would’ve been received better than via text. But who knows, @ShellyB could’ve made a run for it that night and left too quickly. Maybe it would’ve been wiser in dcc context not to ask, or to wait for j&k to return. But I don’t think asking the person in charge on the same day is unreasonable. Of course as @Jess14 has pointed out, what applies in the real world doesn’t necessarily ring true in the dcc world.
  23. I agree and I didn’t mean it as inherently negative. But it seems a little off balance to me when my eyes are consistently drawn to the side as opposed to the center. The spot behind point could work, but Gina might not be tall enough for that position. Is that Tess in the Camp DCC version? She seems to do a good job there.
  24. Gina either needs to tone it down, or be made point. Though I guess they did keep Kashara as point when Jenna was out dancing her initially. (I know many feel Jenna continued to out dance her and many feel kashara stepped it up, but I think most agree in the beginning Jenna was out performing her. I’m not trying to rehash that debate).
