Chibnall talks to Radio Times about the 13th Doctor being challenged more this series https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2019-12-09/doctor-who-jodie-whittakers-doctor-faces-a-profound-new-challenge-in-upcoming-series/ -
Though I thought this season didn’t have enough episodes to breath and felt rushed (and the impeachment story was unwelcome and had a rushed ending), it was a beautiful finale. I’ll miss this show Was that Peter Frampton as the last singer at the wedding?

Per someone's tweet, Jodie pretty much confirms she's staying for Series 13 in an interview where she's quoted: "this isn’t the last series I’ll play the doctor". I can't recall the source article, but I saw a scan earlier of a magazine article where she stated it. -

It appears this will be the first time the show has broadcast a season in Winter (Jan to March) since it was revived. What are ratings like on UK TV in that time period? @SnideAsides it’s possible UNIT or its agents gets taken out in whatever is happening or is still shut down Chibnall has confirmed in interviews that the characters of Tesla (guest Goran Visnjic) and Edison (guest Robert Glenister) will be in the 4th episode, written by Nina Metivier. He also indicated that James Buckley will guest in Episode 3 -

Soap Opera Digest had a BTS picture of Michael Knight and James Stuart on GH with a caption about their times on AMC and I had forgotten they had worked together before, so a nice reunion for them. Michael just needs to work out his accent. Now I now some people who have had an accent can have it come and go at times, but his is absurd and fleeting Weren't they a day behind because of preemptions and such?

https://cultbox.co.uk/news/nationwide-bbc-america-doctor-who-fan-event-spyfall-screening For those who haven't gone into the Series 12 spoiler thread, BBC America and Fathom Events will be screening the first two episodes at 600 theaters in the US on Jan 5 plus a cast Q&A from the Paley Center. I got a ticket so I'll be able to see the 2nd episode on a movie screen about the same time as British viewers are seeing it at home

Thanks, I guess I couldn't tell this time as I'm not usually terrible at guessing the accent. I wish he'd be consistent about it
-
Is Michael Knight occasionally trying for some sort of uppercrust accent with his character? It seems to come and go and it's distracting. Other than that, I like seeing Michael back on screen, but they need to do more with his character. I guess he was ok with taking a small (for now) role

https://cultbox.co.uk/news/nationwide-bbc-america-doctor-who-fan-event-spyfall-screening BBC America and Fathom event to see the first 2 episodes in theaters in the US on Jan 5. Tickets are now available. One theater is close to me so I’m considering going ETA: I ended up getting a ticket. It will mean seeing the two episodes on a movie screen and seeing the second episode before it's telecast on BBC America. So this should hopefully be fun and will get me out of the house for about 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon Per Radio Times, Doctor to meet Edison and Tesla in Series 12 https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2019-12-07/doctor-who-series-12-nikola-tesla-edison/ Also posted in the 1st episode topic, 1 minute First Look from the first episode Entertainment Weekly interview https://ew.com/tv/2019/12/06/doctor-who-jodie-whittaker-chris-chibnall/ Deadline interview https://deadline.com/2019/12/doctor-who-showrunner-chris-chibnall-biggest-episode-1202788483/ -
This show is so unsettling, I cannot watch it at night. I find it fascinating, but I’m not sure I will be able to watch a second season. I hate Emerson’s character for all his nastiness. His stuff with the incel guy was wretched and unfortunately too on the nose with those types

From Cultbox, Series 12 will show a different side to the 13th Doctor https://cultbox.co.uk/news/doctor-who-series-12-will-show-a-different-side-of-the-thirteenth-doctor Chibnall's (and the BBC's) need for so much secrecy seems like overkill, though there are quite a few fans who don't like spoilers, so they're probably happy with the intense secrecy From Cultbox, Chibnall talks about doing more and different historicals in Series 12 https://cultbox.co.uk/general/more-and-different-historical-episodes-in-doctor-who-series-12 From Cultbox, Chibnall gives some interesting new details on the season via an interview with TV and Satellite Week, especially about the first episode https://cultbox.co.uk/news/doctor-who-series-12-new-details-from-chris-chibnall -

“I’m devastated to have to tell you that due to a severe neck injury, which has made it impossible for me to sing & move, I’ve been rushed to hospital for a diagnosis. The Doctors have advised me to not perform this weekend while I try and recover, so I’ve had to make the very difficult decision to cancel my performances at the Bristol Hippodrome on Saturday 30th November and at the SEC Armadillo, Glasgow, on Sunday 1st December. I am so disappointed and upset as I was looking forward to seeing you all, I feel I am letting everyone down, but it’s simply not possible for me to do the show in my current condition. We have thankfully managed to open the Oxford New Theatre concert (Sat 14th December) for Bristol audience members to transfer to, and we have managed to move the Glasgow date to Tues 3rd December so I really hope you will be able to still see me have A Fabulous Christmas. All my love, John x” He later got an MRI showing a vertebrae problem

I'm totally looking forward to Series 12. As a newcomer to Who, I loved Series 11, even some of the weaker episodes, but I know and acknowledge there was room for improvement. From the stuff I've read so far, it appears things are being taken up a few levels in 12 and I'm here for it -

So as I said before I've pieced together various spoilers and trailer info into a document to try to get a sense on what's happening in which episode to pass the time before official announcements are made. Just to caution, episode order could change some. Just some basic stuff for now: Episode 1: Spy caper. Supposed threat is Cyborgs (different from Cybermen). As trailer shows/assumes, Stephen Fry and Lenny Henry guest, Team Tardis in tuxes. Supposedly written by Chris Chibnall and directed by Jamie Stone. Supposed to premiere New Year's Day Episode 2: WWII Paris, 1943. This may be the one that includes British Muslim spy Noor Inayat Khan. Supposed to be a loose tie-in with Episode 1, though likely just Team Tardis landing here after 1st episode, because trailer shows Doctor is still in her tux. Supposedly directed by Lee Haven Jones, writer possibly Maxine Alderton Episode 3: Little is known, may involve monster in a tunnel. Supposedly written by Ed Hime and directed by Lee Haven Jones Episode 4: Victorian-era story set in New York City involving Florence Nightingale. Team Tardis in Victorian clothes. Supposedly involves alien Queen named Skithra or Queen of Skithra race that is scorpion-like creatures. Goran Visnjic, supposedly playing Tesla, Maxim Baldry reportedly plays John Polidori. Writer possibly Nina Métivier/Director unknown Episode 5: Sea Devils/maybe plastic waste issue. Supposedly directed by Jamie Stone, writer possibly Charlene Jones. May be the episode that we see from the trailer where the Doctor runs on the beach towards a body in the water Episode 6: Judoon episode. Possibly includes a Time Lord on the lam named Ruth. Possibly written by Pete McTighe or Chris Chibnall, director unknown Episode 7: Base-under-siege story, with a scary creature that can go through walls. Might be the episode seen in the trailer where something is trying to get into the Tardis. Possibly directed by Emma Sullivan, writer might be Pete McTighe if he didn't do Episode 6 Episode 8: Mary Shelley/Cyberman story, early 1800s. Supposedly where companion captured and nearly killed/upgraded. Possibly directed by Emma Sullivan, writer might be Vinay Patel Episode 9: unknown plot. Possibly written by Chris Chibnall Episode 10: Finale. Unknown plot. Possibly two-parter with 9 but uncertain. Possibly written by Chris Chibnall and directed by Jamie Stone
