The Jones Family has more money than God. They could, and probably have, defended a lawsuit into the ground. They probably settled with Erica because of bad press - I can't see Charlotte risking the rep of the Cheerleaders over Erica.

i get that but if you saw Megan's last cut, you know that Megan F did not believe that they didn't take girls without knowing ahead of time that they would get cut. While I didn't agree with Megan's attitude, she was pretty disrespectful, but I kind of agreed with her point {if not the way} she put it across. I do think they take girls knowing they won't make it -- Judy told them at finals that Megan F didn't know the dances -- the was no way that Brianna would make it or Vivan who was in it because she wanted to be on TV by constantly playing to the camera or Karissa who made it into TC one year but not the next. I do believe that there is a certain amount of pandering to making a TV show rather than being "world class." Its one of the reasons I don't care for this season already. I know we have only seen one episode but it seems overproduced, with the over-concentration on Voldemort and the god awful theme. I also think it would interesting to see those who made the team by the skin of their teeth, who didn't make through to Camp the next, i.e., Breelan or Ashley Pro or Kat.

When she got cut last year, didn't she say something like "do you have notes about breaking hearts or something like that? I keep rewatching it but I can't figure out what she did. . Shades of Megan F.

Well, she may be able to walk on water, but she can't dance in a straight line, so there is that. 🙂

It wouldn't be. You can {usually} only settle the issues raised in the lawsuit or counter suit -- not only that, but how in the world, would Erica enforce such a provision of the settlement agreement -- what damages to her? None.

I felt the same when I watched her. Something just seems off.

This reminds of the year that Kalli didn't make it back because the judges thought her costume was trying to hide weight gain and one of the Jordans (Ketchum?) who made it back but got called out for weight gain

Never happen. Assumption of the "risk" (i.e. the emotional distress someone suffers if they don't make the team) and the waivers that have to be signed - It would be bounced right of court. (Erica anyone?) (Although I think there may have been an under the table settlement with a hush hush agreement in that situation.) i am a pretty good lawyer and I wouldn't touch the situation -- especially not for someone like VK or her stage mother.

You have to be self-aware in order to have that kind of insight. Not something I see her developing -- she has been brought up to believe that this is her birthright -- she's a let them eat cake kind of girl I think. No pun intended. 🙂

I would bet money that Erica does not appear on TPTB Xmas card list -- if anything they may have asked for the ring back.
