  1. That's a total trope. McCoy deciding to charge some big corporation or other powerful entity with "depraved indifference".
  2. Tanya gets overdosed with fentanyl, stuffed into a plastic bag and dropped underwater. Luckily she was found by Saint Oliska so all of that had no affect on her. Flashback to Maria from "911". I thought Tanya might cough and look up adoringly and say, "Oleeeeeevia?"
  3. The logistics make zero sense. Gabi is in Metro DC. Why was Sir in Rockville MD and then traveling back to DC to leave the picture for Laci?
  4. There's no way to suspend disbelief enough for this episode. Sir escaped and took Gabi's rat poison which he is able to get to Laci's dog. He then somehow gets a phone and gets on the DC Metro where he recognized Dasheka traveling at 4:30 am which is a half hour before the trains start running. He snaps the photo and accesses the security camera and erased it before getting the photo printed out and leaving it for Laci. He subsequently gets a fake passport and this fact is passed in to Dhan by his super extra underground contacts. Then he gets to BWI which is in Baltimore and buys a ticket to Amsterdam. Simultaneously, Dasheka was abused by her stepmom who paid the social worker $7K to hide the report. This social worker takes regular payoffs which are paid via electronic transfer into his bank account. The dad also never noticed $7,000 missing from the joint account. Granny then kidnapped and hid her but she was never able to contact her family despite granny traveling for work and caring for an Alzheimer's patient. Randomly she goes outside for a train ride before going back to granny's closet? For a final piece of backstory we learn Zeke was kidnapped by his uncle but his parents don't know that? Despite not knowing who kidnapped him, Zeke's dad contributed millions of dollars to M&A.
  5. Was anyone else thinking "Hey I saw 'Murder on the Orient Express, too"? I'm always amazed by how terrible the writing is. Dhan has the entire police department at his disposal PLUS Margaret whose superpower is noticing things, yet he decided to go ask Sir for help as if that was his only option? How ridiculous was it for Zeke to call Gabi when she's at a rave instead of texting? Why does Zeke keep a feed of all those street cameras? Yeah I understand a Ring but he effortlessly hacks into the DC Police system? The perpetrator was immediately obvious, but Did Margaret quit the bus station?
  6. Is anyone on here a physician or EMT? I am dying to know if that IV procedure is real. It sounds insane but I can't imagine them just inventing it. Apparently now that Trent is back on the job they've reverted to Gabi stomping into the police department at will and commandeering Trent. Also he easily shares police evidence with her, like Alison's laptop. Poor Detective Shaker. Now she's relegated to sitting at her desk and doesn't get a single line. Do hospitals allow patients to lie together in double beds especially when one was just in surgery and they thought he was dying? That seemed cringeworthy bad. No way is Gabi careless enough to say out loud that she spoke with Sir in the present tense.
  7. I didn't even think of that but you're right! Since he'd been a teacher it also makes no sense that no student recognized him and said "that's Mr Evans."
  8. Exactly right! You nailed it. One part I really hate is that they suggested that Gabi used Sir as a secret weapon to understand the minds of criminals. In the first episode she finds the missing kid because Sir tells her where to look. This could have been a fabulous plot arc where he consistently adds anything valuable. However it always falls flat or it's something pedantic like "the word phoney is from 'Catcher in the Rye'. This element had so much potential including an exploration of the morality of a bad guy being able to make positive contributions.
  9. Has anything on primetime TV ever been as absurdly cringe as the student dramatically telling Gabi that she feels unseen and alone while grabbing her phone and developing the "I am Bobby" hashtag? Teenagers do not behave that way. Why was there nobody else in the school hallway apart from the M&A crew? How were they allowed access to the school and how was Gabi never prosecuted for literally threatening Chloe? Also ridiculous cringe in having Zeke's dad have the PI license. Did he go to the police department and ask for a hard copy to give his son? Once again Zeke's ridiculous computer accessibility super powers are on display. Of course he can easily access the automaker's files.
  10. Also he finally has a name. I was getting annoyed with him being called "Sir" for no apparent reason. It's especially weird if they were in fact acquainted prior to her kidnapping.
  11. So now that Trent is suspended from his job he just follows Gabi around and coordinates with the DC Police? He arranges them to patrol her house and gets his old partner Shaker(?) to be her personal security officer? Who knew the DC Police had that in their budget? More SVU vibes as the team finds out that Sampson has been defrauding Social Security by keeping his dead wife's checks. Inexplicably, this will be enough to set his girlfriend up in an apartment for a decade? Why not use the money now to buy an RV? I thought it was wrong for them to clean up Sampson's cart. That's literally all he has, wouldn't it be an invasion of his privacy? Margaret determined the assailant didn't belong there because his clothes were clean, but Sampson's were as well. Where did Sampson get an apparently brand new gun? Did anyone else notice the hammer was cocked? That would have made the gun go off with just the lightest tap on the trigger. It's my pet peeve that primetime TV writers are so ignorant of firearms. Lastly, did Zeke have a heat camera that indicates Sir was there? It seems like he knew there was someone but didn't say anything. I think it could be a cool "Remington Steele" type of subplot if Sir were less creepy and he contributed more.
  12. Right? It's literally the boss saying "I need you to access this" and computer wizard says "on it" while staring intently at the screen. After 5 or 6 taps on the keyboard, "got it". What's additionally ridiculous in "Found" is that despite taking place in DC, every police and public video camera is always in perfect working condition and gets flawless footage
  13. Now Trent's partner takes over, and allows them to watch the interrogation. Apparently nobody in the department will ask questions or notice Gabi there. This episode solidified my "Gabi=Olivia Benson" perspective. Stealing Charlie's phone was ok because she is trying to find someone. I'm also over Zeke's supersonic computer capabilities. He knows Charlie was brought into the hospital? How? Then he's able to access a random gas station's security video? I imagine anyone who works in cyber security is laughing at this show. And in conclusion, I can't stand the dynamic between Gabi and Trent. Did he really say that it's his fault she stole the drive because he should have known she'd do it? Why not just say "you shouldn't make me hit you". I hate that Gabi feels no moral dilemma about her actions causing him to potentially lose his job. She just sort of shrugs it off like "ok well do you want to be an exotic dancer?"
  14. So for any SVU fans on here, I've come to the conclusion that Gabi=Olivia Benson. Gabi's worldview is that she is always on the side of angels and therefore everything she does is justified. Gabi is surrounded by those who inexplicably worship her because she cares so much and therefore have decided that she's a hero. She steals the thumb drive, places the CI in jeopardy and risks Trent's job. She insists it's ok because David needs to see his mom. It was exactly the sort of thing Olivia would do. She also uses her personal trauma card the way Liv continually reminds victims that she was a child of rape. She believes her experience makes her uniquely qualified to help victims and places her above others because she understands trauma better than everyone else. Additionally she is dismissive of any misgivings others have about her actions. Dhan was clearly uncomfortable with her violating protocols regarding addiction treatment, but Gabi steamrolls over him.
  15. I know this is a weird thought, but do you think that shows like this and "Found" are going to have civilians thinking they can act as para-professional law enforcement? There's no way that anyone would get away with traipsing around crime scenes, picking locks, and touching evidence the way these guys do. When they encounter the police officer he seems totally ok with "oh hi we're a college professor and a crisis management professional. We were staking out the gallery while investigating forgery."
  16. G-d I wanted to like this show, but how much artistic license, suspension of disbelief and all around terrible writing should viewers accept? There was a ridiculous use of police procedural tropes including Rose incredibly being able to look at an office building and decipher that there's a hidden room because the internal and external measurements don't align. Then she easily opens the secret room used as part of a multi million dollar forgery ring. Did they not bother locking the door or making it otherwise inaccessible? Then they go to the forger's studio and effortlessly pick the lock? This show also has the inexplicable and unrealistic plotlines where individuals who aren't law enforcement are just wandering around and walking into crime scenes and conducting investigations. Stupidest of all, Alec tells the forger he has authorization from the FBI to destroy the painting, yet there are no FBI agents there. Do they just randomly allow him to represent the Bureau as they did in "Point and Shoot" when he arrests the judge? DAE think the sister and ex wife were going to hook up?
  17. Agreed. It seems that there's almost definitely some twist because his presence in her basement was shown in the preview. My guess for the twist is that he's not actually captive but remains there voluntarily. There's a preview conversation where she accused him of wanting to be there. Obviously that may be edited or taken out of context. In the last episode when she takes his books she tells him "you think you're in control but you're not" so maybe she is hiding him from the authorities with the understanding he stays there for as long as she was held captive. My call is the season finale shows him removing the shackles but replacing them when Gabi approaches.
  18. It looked like from the beginning that Gabi was using Sir as her secret weapon, along the lines of needing someone who thinks like a criminal because she can't. However, what he adds is laughably easy. Last episode he brilliantly points out that Sasha must be alive because the apartment was ransacked? That was just dumb, as a murderer might have ransacked her apartment looking for something, not necessarily for her.
  19. Another part I didn't understand was that cops apply for no-knock warrants. How did they not realize that the address had changed? None of them said "Hey we've done surveillance in 853 Main Street. Why does this warrant say 858?"
  20. This was mentioned, but as you said, it's insanely over the top. It also makes no sense how they're able to operate. They're not law enforcement or military, but they're simply walking into potential crime scenes, interviewing witnesses and demanding security footage from hotels. DAE think it's weird how seemingly everyone in DC knows Gabi? As if you get famous by locating missing foster kids and immigrants?
  21. Three things. How Sir isn't twenty years older but Gabi is.
  22. Additionally, the scene where Alec and Kylie get pulled over was just over the top. There's no way the police would be dumb enough to participate in witness intimidation, especially when Alec is just an expert witness and not really connected to the lawsuit. There was no reason for Kylie to be so upset especially with Alec being married to an FBI agent and closely connected with law enforcement. It was also somewhat pointless for them to talk about the two tiered justice system if Alec really can earn $100K per day as an expert witness. That puts him squarely in the rich column.
  23. I wanted to like this, but it's so ridiculous as to be almost campy. How is it they never seem to have paying customers? They have this insanely swank office yet they're tracking down foster kids and retirees. Zeke with his computer setup is like Jet or Abby. Literally everything is inexplicably seconds away on his keyboard. Gabi just tells him to "search the dark web" or somehow access every security camera in the city and he's like.. "already on it!... Done!" The last episode was just absurd. How did Gabi need a depraved criminal mind to recognize that overuse of the word "phonies" was from "Catcher in the Rye"? On every police show they need a SWAT team and battering rams to break down doors, but Gabi is able to kick down a hotel room door in one kick?? Margaret is just a poor man's Bobby Goren.
  24. I don't know if this qualifies but I thought it was funny in "City Hall " when Lenny uses the phrase about hearing hoofbeats and thinking horses, not zebras. The phrase is used in "Prescription for Death" when Oster uses it and says it's an old "medical school" saying.
  25. There is too much suspension of disbelief. Could the casting directors not find any black actors to appear in the protest scenes? It's Washington DC at a trial where a black man was shot by the police; all the protestors are white. The first witness claims the warrant contained a "typo" but the clerk then said it was handwritten. How did she not at some point say that she wrote the correct address? Alec gets on the stand and explains how biased the expert witness is. He immediately then admits he makes up to $100K/day??? Even if he's not being paid by this particular defendant, wouldn't the jury be suspicious? If he makes that kind of coin he can obviously occasionally work pro-bono. The judge meets the other psychologist and five minutes later is scribbling his offshore bank account number? Without even checking with the man's supposed golf buddy? Then Alec is conducting the sting rather than any actual police? Lastly, as it turned out the shooting actually wasn't related to race at all. He was just targeted because he found out about the payoffs. Oh and obviously it's TV but how do these people afford the houses? Alec's sister is literally never shown working but she can afford that showplace?
