  1. This pic from yesterday has been circulating on numerous girls’ a ocial media. The only rookies are Meredith and Lily, but I’m particularly interested that Julia is in it. I wonder if that means she’ll be trying out again next year?
  2. Btw what is up with the voice overs this year? They seem particularly exaggerated and contrived.
  3. My take on this week’s episode ... The VK redemption edit has gotten old. We get it: she is amazing, and so much more mature than last year. Please stop being so blatant as to say those exact words every week. I did find it notable that they use Kelli and Melissa to progress this narrative but Cheryl Burke said something like “I don’t see it”). The only thing possibly more grating than the VK edit is Meredith. What in the heck is going on there???? Every week it’s the same thing both with her messing up, and then with her and Kelli’s reactions. Yes, we understand that she’s classically trained, but she presently sucks so let’s move on already?! The makeovers were underwhelming, all the way around. The segment seemed a bit thrown in to this episode, and at the end of the day, everyone looks essentially the same. Lily. I understand the team likes her but I’ve yet to see why. She seems stiff both in personality and in dance. I have not be shown anything to make me care about her one way or the other. And btw where the heck is Kristin, and why is she being hidden week after week? Strange. I think Kelcy is adorable, and Chandi brings a great look to the mix. I like them both. I appreciated Kashara’s honesty about point. I personally have not drank the Caroline kool-aid (I thought some of her calendar pictures were smoking but she doesn’t immediately grab my eye in performances), but I appreciated Kashara’s thought process and that it wasn’t a popularity contest for her, i.e. she didn’t just pick her closest friend. As for the Jalyn situation ... it’s impossible not to feel bad for her. She clearly knows that she stepped in a big pile of dung and is petrified what other ramifications will befall her. I agree with everyone else that Kelli is again not doing herself any favors with this edit because she seems bitchy and cold with not only with how she looked discussing Jalyn at show group judging, but also with both her voiceovers during practice (when Jalyn returned) and then also in the office visit. I can only guess that Kelli doesn’t want to be portrayed that way (as is evident from next week’s preview of her crying about how hard it is on her to crush people’s dreams), so I have to assume she truly is clueless how obvious her favoritism is sometimes, and how bad she looks when she is so icy to her non-favorites.
  4. Lisa seems remarkably ambitious and driven, and not in the “DCC is my entire life’s aspiration” kinda way. That type of personality can clash with other women, especially the Stepford wife model of the typical DCC. I find it a shame though, that that’s what may likely limit her success in the organization because she appears to be a powerhouse dancer.
  5. Did we all read the same article??? I wasn’t detecting any female bashing or women blaming, but rather, stating the obvious, that blasting shots of breasts and crotches on a 60-ft Jumbotron brings out the worst in a certain demographic, so maybe the organization should back off that shtick. I can’t disagree with that logic.
  6. Every time I see this picture I think of the Denise Austin work out videos from the late 80s where she would be laying on the floor stretching at the end of the workout, and say “make yourself loooong and skinnnny” in her annoying breathy voice. Lol
  7. This week’s observations: I am absolutely stumped like everyone else that Meredith and Kat make this team (alternate or not, they still give them a uniform). Then there’s Kristin, a “hard no” for Charm and consistently unnoticed (and un-stickered) by others, and she makes it too. She’s like a ghost though, we don’t actually ever get to see her dance. What’s going on?! Julia looked incredible in last night’s episode so it’s particularly puzzling that they would cut her last and keep other, seemingly mediocre candidates as alternates. Lisa and Taylor P got a lot of praise last night. There seemed to be a lot of “insider” discussion earlier in the summer about them not deserving their spots. That’s certainly not what we’re seeing so far. Shaina seemed quite sweet, and I love her coloring. It’s painful knowing what’s coming there, and I wonder how much that will be addressed. It also seems like Kelli knows she looked like a sniveling fool last season, and this season is being specifically scripted to correct that. These early, mid-practice cuts, with Judy even saying “I didnt think you were going to cut her tonight” so Kelli could look more decisive and in control this year ... it feels quite contrived. Subtlety is not the show’s specialty. Finally, I’m super interested to see what happens at show group auditions since the preview suggests Jalyn’s audition was so bad that Cheryl Burke questions why she’d make the team?! *** edited to add: I didn’t mention VK once!!!! You’re welcome. 🤗
  8. I thought she did his choreo pretty well actually, but she’s been fan girling on him for the past FIVE YEARS (not to mention having access to him for that long which I’m assuming most people don’t)??? This explains all sorts of things about his comments and opinions on the show both this year and last.
  9. I never knew that every kick of the kickline is to a cymbal crash. It makes so much more sense why the choreo is what it is!
  10. Being that the tall blonde in the far right corner stepped out of the double, I have an educated guess who that is. Edit: truthfully, it might be Erin not VK.
  11. I’m struck by the fact that she’s essentially been radio SILENT for the last twelve months because social media is such a mean and ugly place, and by virtue of how awful it’s been for her to endure, the entire DCC have been on lockdown, but since she got that uniform, she’s posting away!!!
  12. Brennan posted a picture of her cameo on her Insta story. She looks great.
  13. I rewatched the episode and it confirms for me that Kelli prides herself on “fixing” the girls not already in the top 36 so she can pat herself on the back that she “made” them into top 36. Maybe it’s ego on her part, or perhaps she thinks it makes good television. But it seems she focuses on the struggling girls, and she nudges and provides feedback every step of the way, and “oh look - she made it!” All the while several other girls who have been strong from the start (but maybe never top of the class) never hear a peep, and then end up cut the last days of training camp. She does this every season.
  14. I’m a big ole sucker for this rookie announcement shot every year! Lily looks great in this picture, and Meredith is just stunning.
  15. One other random thought from pages back ... I swear I saw Kitty’s crazy hair after finals running up to hug (I think) Madeline Salter. I watched it twice because I figured it was VK but it wasn’t. Am I wrong about this Kitty sighting? We haven’t heard much about Madeline’s mom. Did she cheer with Kitty perhaps?
  16. Between Meet the Team and the first home game, this board jumped like 12 pages in a couple days so sorry in advance that this now seems off topic ... but how exactly is this leaderboard determined, and what practical value is it (other than to tout the Golden Child VK)? It looks like it’s just ladies who got all “yeses” and then ordered by seniority, because I just really doubt that Amy is their number 1 girl (looks or dance wise). But okay, you want to call her your number 1, and you put her as group leader and co-point (if that’s still for case after multiple screws ups this pre-season). But then how do you justify putting Maddie as group leader and other co-point if she’s not even in your top SEVENTEEN?! And notably, several girls who were not in the judge’s top 36 at finals make the final roster. Seems like the judges’ opinions really mean absolutely nothing, OR Kelli and Judy completely lose control of their own selection process through the drawn out camp.
  17. ^^^ I can’t unsee these borderline obscene shorts. ^^^ or this straight off the stripper pole HAIR?!
  18. Well at least we’re going for “subtle” when it comes to how much VK has grown in the past year ... “nope, that’s just not me anymore.” 🤣🤣🤣
  19. Yes, but regardless of its origin, that hand gesture has taken on a connotation synonymous with white power, so at best it’s still remarkably tone deaf of the DCC to include it in their choreography.
  20. No doubt. But what was the choreo here? Because 3 girls are tilting their head, and ALL the rest of them are not. That’s problematic IMO.
  21. I’m not going to suggest that Amy isn’t way too bland for point, but look at Gina in that top picture. Girl is dancing by herself right there, hitting a mark no one else is hitting. She may be the best dancer, awesome even, but this is a TEAM and her added “oomph” is distracting sometimes.
  22. I was going to ask if the three rookie SG members are not in the hip hop number because I only count 15 people, but that's Amanda there in the front next to Bridget right?
  23. I think you're right. So that's likely Rookie Kelcey behind her next to Amanda. Now if only I had Tootie's mad skills to chart this out. LOL
  24. That's what I think as well. She's the one at the very beginning who hops onto her line like she was in the wrong spot.
