  1. The timing of this discussion is particularly ironic as Judy’s Insta story the morning after the Queen performance commented more than once that she had choreography to take care of but she kept getting sidetracked watching the Queen performance over and over.
  2. That's why the plan is to keep her in the tiny DCC bubble FOREVER.
  3. There seems to be plenty of examples backing up the negative image most people on this board have of VK. If you know of other real-world examples of positive VK behavior, then please share.
  4. Last year we watched as Kelli and MTT tried to sell us this narrative of how “incredible” VK was which, for many of us, just didn’t match what we were seeing for ourselves on social media. Rumors swirled on this board as soon as auditions rolled around and, as we watched first hand the double standard being pushed on us by Kelli and the show, most of those rumors proved absolutely true. So when tidbits pop up again this year, some of which specifically relate to how much effort is being put forth to protect VK and that original narrative so as not to have a repeat of last year’s embarrassment, it isn’t a stretch for me to think there is considerable manipulation going on. Maybe VK isn’t sophisticated enough to be orchestrating it, but it sure appears to be happening on her behalf. And by all accounts, she’s a willing participant.
  5. I guess her idiocy is what I struggle with. If she would just get out of her own damn way, she would make this team hands down, irrespective of whether there are 36 more qualified individuals at training camp?! So honestly, has she (and her mother) learned NOTHING from last year? It’s seems to me that the only thing that threatens her spot this year is more conniving.
  6. I guess this is where some of the rumors fall apart a little bit for me. If the path has been paved so smoothly for VK this year, why would she need to be sneaky or mean about anything? Only if she fears she might get cut does it make sense that she would seek to demean or disadvantage who she perceives as her “competition.” Edited to add: I’m not suggesting VK isn’t worse this year than last. I just don’t get it. If you so clearly have a spot, being an awful b*tch to all your future teammates doesn’t seem like a very smart path to an enjoyable tenure on the team.
  7. Kelli doesn’t seem to actually see VK in reality - her unctrolled dance style, her weight issues, her immaturity, the toxicity that follows her around, etc. Why would she suddenly see things clearly once VK’s a vet?
  8. We viewers have watched for years as Kelli has spouted about standards, excellence, “world-class” etc. to justify being intolerant - seemingly mean and unreasonable on occasion - in the name of what’s best for the brand. So I completely understand why watching this colossal shift with the handling of VK gets a lot of people fired up. But truthfully, this hypocrisy is nothing new. Judy's position greased the wheels for her daughter to push plenty of boundaries without seemingly having any of the consequences that any non-insider would have had. And Charlotte only has any significance in this world because her daddy owns a damn football team?! So I guess it really shouldn’t surprise any of us that Kelli would use her position to benefit her best friend’s daughter (who she genuinely seems to adore), and that the other two would never call her on it.
  9. Clearly I would be one of the "troublemakers" because I firmly believe the last thing this brand needs is more Stepford Wives telling us, per script, how blessed and grateful they are for the sisterhood that is this amazing organization.
  10. Hmmm, a zero-tolerance policy. On ... blabbing when you shouldn't? On ... tattling on bad behavior? On ... lying? Seems like such a policy applies to everyone except VK apparently. Had VK not opened her mouth last year before/during auditions about the position on the team she was promised, NONE of this would be a discussion in the first place. Then, with everything in her favor because TPTB were clearly on her side and willing to let anything and everything slide with respect to their oft-quoted standards on dance and appearance, she acted poorly and immature (at best); she was complacent with her figure, and when called out on it, she lashed out against a trusted insider (an insider who had earned that trust), going so far as to lie right to Kelli's face about it. Nevertheless, she's back ... with a Barbie, AND a coveted SG spot, and apparently also with a public relations security detail. Yet anyone who dares to opine (seemingly even in private since there are plenty of mice willing to squeal for their own gain) that what's going on seems to smack of nepotism or is patently unfair ... THAT person becomes the "toxicity" that needs eliminated? THIS is the double standard that pisses people off on this board. THIS is the double standard that itself is what's working against the organization's best interest. Obviously, TPTB can do whatever they want with this team. But when your outward representations of the core values and standards of your organization so wildly conflict with what's going on behind the scenes, you weaken your foundation. Sooner or later, that weakness will cause a major collapse.
  11. I think that will all depend on VK’s personality and fan interactions. By all outward accounts (because I don’t otherwise know her or anyone in or around this organization personally) she seems to be the “life of the party” kinda girl. That may be too much for a lot of people, and it sounds like she rubs a lot of contemporaries the wrong way, but in this role with the drunk lecherous male Cowboys fan, I think they’ll like her. She’ll be outgoing, fun and likely completely over the top which I suspect they will eat up, and make them willing to ignore a little extra jiggle in her leg. Editted to add: I have said it before and I’ll say it again: this team aims to serve lots of different demographics, and I can see the demographic VK could serve. I just don’t appreciate TPTB being seemingly dishonest about VK’s talent and contribution. If they just said “we happen to know and love this beautiful storm personally, and we think there are plenty of drunk lecherous male Cowboys fans who will love her too, so we’re putting her on our team because we can do whatever we want” I would have very few negative feelings about whether or not VK was on the team. It’s just how it’s all been handled that bothers me. They did not do themselves or VK any favors by handling it the way they did.
  12. Let’s be real, a bunch of drunk lecherous male Cowboys fans are not going to care about her falling out of turns, or being uncontrolled in her movements or spatial awareness. Her big, bold, bubbly presence plays precisely into that fan base, and she’ll serve it well. I would just appreciate them not trying to sell to us not in that crowd that VK is the best of the best dance or shape wise because, objectively, she is not.
  13. They obviously had much better weather for this shoot as compared to last year, and that helps tremendously, but everything about these pictures (photography, editing, swimsuits, etc) is a 100% improvement from last year.
  14. I would think as a young teen she would want to be part of a squad or team because it’s fun (or at least it should be). To steer away from that is a red flag to me that she is either not cut out for the camaraderie or for that particular style of dance. Either way I would think the director of a “world class” dance squad would consider that.
  15. That’s who I was thinking they meant, and I couldn’t understand why Madeline Malloy would be cut at this stage. Thanks for clarifying.
  16. Rookie Madeline got a Barbie this year, and has been in quite a bit of their social media of late. I would be surprised if they cut her unless she did something wrong.
  17. Had you given me enough guesses to name every brunette on last year’s squad, I still would not have guessed this was Miranda.
  18. I think it’s just that the choreo for TS is stale and boring at this point.
  19. I would think you’d want to take height into consideration when picking the front of the triangle, because if you have taller girls at point and one side, but a shorter girl on the other side would look lopsided. So personally, Gina at point with Maddie and Bridget on either side seems balanced to me.
  20. I thought the confusion came from the discussion that Savannah is in Group 1 but the video, with her in it, says Group 4.
  21. You put this much effort into doing a great Farrah Fawcett flashback photo, could we have paid at least a little attention to Heather’s hair? Especially at her roots ... it looks fried and greasy all at the same time.
  22. Oh wow, I forgot how much better her hair used to look. I do like this look on her better than the flat-ironed look in the Star Wars t-shirt picture. PS I'm a big Maddie fan. She seems genuine and comfortable in her own skin, which is much more consistent with what I believe the image of the Girl Next Door should be, as opposed to the big-boobed male sexual fantasy definition of that term more commonly adopted by this team. Don't get me wrong, I understand the desire to have the pin-up doll members of this squad as well because, let's be honest, feeding that male sexual fantasy is a big part of why this squad exists. But that is not the only demographic this team serves, and I, for one, appreciate having other options for myself and my daughter to follow and enjoy.
  23. I have super curly hair and layers are NOT my friend!!! I have a picture when I was little where I legit look like Roseann Roseannadanna. 🤣 At least for me, length (and the right product) helps weigh down the curls so they’re not as tight. Otherwise, the shorter the hair, the tighter the curl.
  24. I think Lily needs a color change a la Star Spangler. Maybe going darker, perhaps even red, would help her pop and become more memorable.
