  1. My husband is no longer a triathlete because of an asshole like that. He was out for one of his long runs, about 6 miles in, when some dickface aimed his car directly at him. Hubs jumped off the road to avoid being killed and landed in a gopher hole. After several weeks of thinking it was just a sprained ankle, he went to the doctor. He had spaghetti-fied the tendons and ligaments in his ankle. He had the ankle equivalent of Tommy John surgery, plus several screws. No more running. (And he was a bitch to live with the first six months of not being able to run.)
  2. Sounds like my response to thunderstorms. Dammit, why couldn't it wait until after my swim to thunder and lightning? And I'll still go lift, but my whole day is ruined. Is it normal? Ummmm, since I tend toward Sheldon Cooper behavior, I'm probably not qualified to answer that.
  3. I checked out Chase's FB page.... what a winner!!! Can't hold a job. Former waiter...former waiter...former bartender....former IRS.... nothing listed as his "current" job. Lots of pictures of him totally hammered. Sounds like he's just her type.
  4. I tell people "My husband is a triathlete. Me, I just try to be an athlete."
  5. She has a clip of her speech on her IG page. I couldn't pay attention because I was distracted by her hideous pants. I sure hope that's not part of her clothing line. WTH is that flapping around her belly/crotchular area??? ETA: Who the hell goes to a function as a SPEAKER in a SPORTS BRA? Does this woman even own a blouse?
  6. Thanks... I just remembered that several months ago Twit posted a newspaper clipping from their high school days, and the name stuck with me because it was so unusual.
  7. Tal uses his "real" name --- Tal is short for Talmage, and yes, his real last name is Fish. Rufus Talmage Fish... the third, I think.
  8. I thought of something else Sunday night and just now thought to post it. If they were staying at DuPont Circle, and standing right in front of their hotel to "judge," when they allegedly heard the shots, why not simply --- oh, I don't know --- go back in your hotel? Noooo, they had to run so someone else would take them in.
  9. Last year I discovered the joy that is frozen grapes. My first thought was "damn, these could be addictive." My second thought was "How the hell did I get to be 70 years old and not know about frozen grapes?" Six of them makes the perfect post-workout snack.
  10. Up until a few months ago, I needed plus size workout clothes (started at 2X). I found that Champion, Hanes, and Just My Size made reasonably priced plus size fitness apparel. In my opinion, Nike, Fabletics, and some other brands are overpriced even for "normal" sizes. I *do* pay more for my swimwear, because I am in the pool so much it has to be chlorine resistant. A tank top and bottom (ankle length for winter, capri the rest of the year) sets me back about $130. For shoes, I found Nike very uncomfortable. I prefer Hoka, Asics, and NB.
  11. I read Chad's book. He was pretty brutally honest with himself. And I adore his wife.
  12. I guess Nike HAD to introduce plus sizes to keep market share. I was stunned to learn that in 2017, the average American woman stood 63.5" tall and weighed 171. Personally I'm not a fan of anything Nike.
  13. Her FB today is a screed in response to an article in The Telegraph (UK) by Tanya Gold. Apparently Ms. Gold was bothered by Nike's use of an obese mannequin to sell their plus-size apparel. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/obese-mannequins-selling-women-dangerous-lie/ Here's Twits reply: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10104260019903058&id=29702550 Does Nike *really* say "If you have a body, you're an athlete"? If so, that's as ridiculous as Whitney's claims of never having weighed over 380.
  14. I detest, and will not eat under ANY circumstances: Avocado Okra Turnips Rutabagas I'm allergic to something in blueberries and that makes me very sad.
  15. Even more interesting, on HIS IG page, Tal says of the reports "thankfully they were all false."
  16. She's a lying liar who lies. On her IG post, she says that the police were saying there were no shots, but that Ryan saw it with his own eyes. She also claims they were told to evacuate DuPont Circle. Who wants to take one for the team and ask "for whom were you judging, and exactly what were you judging?" "Who ordered you to evacuate DuPont Circle?"
  17. Oops. Tapped the wrong comment. Ignore this reply. Wasn't there a pop song a few years ago called "It's All About Me"? That would make a good theme song for Twit .....
  18. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/False-Report-of-Shooting-at-Capital-Pride-Parade-Triggers-Panic-511027152.html
  19. On the news last night I heard that it was an idiot with a bb gun who pulled it because someone was disrespecting his girlfriend.
  20. Fortunately the cantaloupe I had was terrible, so we wound up throwing it away. And the bananas are turning slightly brown, so this afternoon they will get cut up and frozen for my smoothies. Don't got no crackers or sugar free jam, but I has yogurt --- Fage plain. Steely resolve may save me. But the cukes and romaine ......
