  2. She probably wants a legitimate win and now that she has Bobby's toxic fanbase combined with her own toxic fanbase, she can easily win with a contender 🤮
  3. Apparently, Bobby Bones has been saying on his show that someone he knows is taking part next season and he's torn whether to support his friend or Sharna.
  4. A new dancer was just added! Nancy Xu. https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/reality-tv/a28548479/strictly-come-dancing-new-professional-dancer-line-up/
  5. She went on as a Latin ballroom dancer but she's been working more in hip-hop lately. I felt in her original audition she and her partner weren't as strong and as sharp as the Sosa siblings but I absolutely loved her duet with Fik-Shun and now I'm bummed that we won't see her perform more. Madison can have good lines at times but she always seems to be a half-beat behind everyone else. She gave Kiki nothing during their duet and her retractions and dismounts out of lifts were very slow and clumsy. I can't believe I actually thought with it down to her and Nazz that Nazz would make it through 🙁 While Sophie did dance the actual speed of a fast Latin dance, she was very messy. I haven't been a fan of Sharna's choreography since her DWTS season with James Hinchcliffe and she seems to be relying more and more on countless lifts when there aren't rules against them. Sophie seemed to have more in the air than Mariah did even though Mariah's dance style was known for lifts. I think if Sophie had Emma and Sasha as choreographers her footwork wouldn't be disregarded in favor of the lifts. I felt like Mariah did the best of the contemporary girls out of her style. The Salsa wasn't perfect, her steps were sometimes too big which affected her hip action and almost caused her to lose sync with Jonathan but out of the three contemporary girls doing Latin/Salsa, she was the best at understanding and interpreting the feel and technique of the dance. She's also petite which helps with lifts but she still landed them really well. Anna was good, she's not my favorite but she was one of the better dancers last night. However, if she could get by with a good duet despite struggling in Academy Week, then Nazz should've gotten the same treatment. Stephanie was a bit bland and her landings weren't as smooth as they could be but she's a wonderful Latin dancer and if she's just as cross-trained as other Utah ballroom ladies then she might do better with different contemporary choreography. Ashley did all the moves right and flawlessly but her facial expressions didn't match her dancing so I wasn't surprised to see her go. I was rooting for Sofia but she got the short end of the stick with that awful choreography. Melany hit all her moves but her expressions were one-dimensional especially next to the expressive Fik-Shun. Sumi was great with Lex and I was shocked she wasn't chosen. Based on the duets I would have chosen Anna, Mariah, Nazz, Stephanie and Sumi. I knew it was too good to be true with 5 ballroom ladies and 3 contemporary ladies.
  6. So Genessey got through last year since she killed her duet despite struggled during Academy Week but Nazz doesn't get the same deal?
  7. I kind of hope Gino stays on SYTYCD because I do not want to see him affiliated with a production that has a 30-something-year-old pervert in a cast of 20-year-olds barely out of high school and college. West Side Story is my favorite musical and rewarding that creep Amar Ramasar with a big role when he cannot even sing or act is in itself disappointing but putting young women in the same room as him when knowing about his misogynistic behavior is disturbing and scary. Sorry for getting off-topic but since Gino is one of my favorites I'm concerned about him being around a guy like that.
  8. I agree, that was invasive and out of line. If she was really struggling he could still support her without taking over the partnering. She was with a ballroom dancer in the ballroom round, she didn't need her fiancee teaching steps he was just learning too. I don't think she would've danced as well as she did in ballroom if she was partnered with her fiancee, it usually pays off if you're paired with someone who knows dances that you don't know.
  9. I thought Sophie was cut? I may be mistaken, she did really well in the rounds. If Madison keeps doing as well as she did in the ballroom round, she could make it. I hope they let her dancing speak for itself though, she's good enough to not rely on an inspiring contestant storyline.
  10. Congrats to Gemma and Gorka on their new baby girl!
  11. Their upcoming baby could also be considered a project 😊
  12. This^ No more non-Latin ballroom-trained dancers as pros, troupe members or in opening numbers who butcher the little bit of Latin and ballroom they do and only get on because they worked with Mandy Moore. While Jenna was featured a lot in Mandy's numbers, at least she's an accomplished and experienced Latin and ballroom dancer; she can dance any style thrown at her. I remember in week 2 of last season there was a male dancer in the opening number whose attempt at Jive was atrocious, turns out he was a dancer in La La Land 🤔
  13. I think I saw Uli!!
  14. I saw Casanova!
  15. All this talk about Clueless makes me think of when Christian was a guest judge in season 13 and referenced it when critiquing Kini and Amanda's mini collection that included the soccer ball dress.
  16. That sounds like Olivier from season 9 with the faux-British accent. He said that he wished women were flat-chested and some of the other designers said he would call the models fat.
  17. NO SEWN HEMS EVER!
  18. I remember in season 12, Justin had a client who was Mormon and wanted to be comfortable and modest. Justin gave her a dress that was just that and had her sign her name so he could stitch her signature on the dress to make it unique. Helen, the winner of that challenge, gave a whole Princess Diaries makeover to her client and made her a red carpet dress. There was also season 10 where Fabio's client was a tomboy who wasn't fond of dresses because she didn't want to be feminized. Fabio made a nice dress that wasn't typically girly and it was also professional for her job.
  19. I remember that episode. Ven, the designer known for the origami rose technique, was that woman's designer but he didn't get eliminated. He did show that he couldn't make anything look interesting without his origami rose, the three looks he didn't use it in looked like basics straight off the rack. Funny enough, the villains of past episodes, Gunnar and Elena, were very nice, enthusiastic and professional with their clients and those clients were around the same size type as Terri, Ven's client. Terri later wrote in a blog post that Ven didn't even accompany her to hair and makeup and Gunnar explained to the hairstylists and makeup artists what was happening between her and Ven and made sure she was treated well there.
  20. Finally, another win for Sebastian! It's hard to believe he's barely been critiqued and his only other win was in episode 2. I really hope the preview for next week is just to scare us and he doesn't actually quit because he is clearly the best designer with the best sewing skills. I loved the dress Garo made for his client, the color was just so perfect on her and it screamed royal with not only the color but the draping and silhouette. I wasn't too surprised to see how nice Garo was to his client because he had such a great attitude about working with Kate and made her look amazing. I agree that Bishme wasn't given as much credit because his client was already so model-like but it was still a great job. Bishme, Garo and Sebastian are clearly supposed to be the final three but knowing the judges' obsession with another designer, we're probably going to lose one of these guys before the finale. Hester and Tessa both need to go. While Hester seems to be the more decent person, she's too all over the place and the judges coddle her whenever she's in the bottom instead of giving her the tough love they give to better designers. If Tessa pulls the same crap again, she's definitely out of there. I really liked Danielle Brooks as a judge and her comparison of Tessa and Jamall, Tessa doesn't take responsibility and makes passive-aggressive digs at her fellow competitors while Jamall seems to really want to learn and grow from past mistakes. I think Tessa would definitely be out if Jamall's dress wasn't so poorly executed, Brandon and Nina made their opinions very clear tonight:
  21. Ha Cheryl totally faked us out! She said on Instagram that the wedding was in a few days and she got married that very day 😍
  22. I'm young enough to be Elton John's grandchild and even I got it!
  23. Season 6 alum and Tony Award nominee Ariana DeBose will be stepping into Rita Moreno's shoes as Anita in Steven Spielberg's West Side Story remake! Cast of Spielberg's West Side Story remake
  24. Come on Tessa Virtue!
