  1. Meri: Yeah, polygamy really doesn't raise a woman to have a sense of empowerment. One hour later on the same show Janelle: I don't know why people think polygamous women don't have empowerment we chose to define what our marriage is. Hello! Your own sister wife just said girls aren't raised with empowerment in the polygamy culture! One of your own is telling us girls aren't raised that way!
  2. I found that really interesting as well. But then I got slightly confused because at the end of the interview I thought Ronan said something like, the company said that her contract did allow her to speak to other journalists about it, or something to that effect. So I was kind of taking that as she not talking to journalists about it, isn't so much fear of the legal contract, but maybe fear of retaliation from "others" such as people in the Trump campaign. On a side note, I would have thought she would have had a lawyer or agent, who negotiated the contract with the company. I don't think they did a really good job on her behalf. I mean usually you see the story go out to all media outlets, and then everyone fights to get that first interview. It's so weird to think a company can own the rights to a "story." So no one else can tell it, or run with it. I think her lawyer or agent really screwed her over with that contract.
  3. I might have missed more, but from the news I was watching it stated, "The FBI says it never made contact with Cruz. They say the comment was not specific enough to warrant a subpoena for an IP address or other info from YouTube ... which might have led them to Cruz." If that is true, I really do think they dropped the ball, if they didn't even try to find the IP address for a person that makes a violent threat like that. This should be mentioned on the show! Although if they do, I really think Meghan would quit, but they have had plenty of guests praise her father, so you should be able to take the negative criticism as well. I would like to see them have the head of the NRA on the view. I'm amazed that they have that much power, we need to take it back from them. WE have the vote, that should be stronger cause if you sell out, we Should be voting you out. As for Joy apologizing, yeah, I always think it is a landmine if you talk religion. I found what she said a little offensive, but I also knew she was joking. But I think if you make any jokes, using mental illness, and Jesus, it's not going to play well for some. There is a reason people always say don't talk politics and religion, and on the View they have to talk about both all the time. On occasion one says something many find offensive, apologizes, and we the audience move on.
  4. This is one of those topics that I don't think anyone can really agree on, who is labeled as pro-choice or pro-life. It reminds me of the episode, when both Joy and Whoopi kept telling Sunny that she was pro-choice, and when she denied it, Whoopi said, "No, you are pro-choice, and explained to her why.
  5. I do agree with you, which is why I've always listed myself as Independent since I've voted for both sides. But the majority of people in the US do label them self as either a Republican or Democrat. So Sunny, labeled herself a democrat, she openly said that. My point is whether you use the labels of Republican or Democrat, Conservative or Liberal, Right wing or Left wing, isn't it all labels that society and the majority of people often use when describing their political beliefs? Articles, media, and etc often interchange Conservatives with Republicans and Liberals with democrats. I guess I just don't understand if a person doesn't want to be labeled then why use a label of Republican or democrat?
  6. While I do like Meghan, I just don't think she is the right fit for the way the View is set up. I like hearing both liberal and conservatives but I think today was very telling. Sherri got along with Elisabeth Hassel back for years and even had her in her wedding. It only took till the second day for Sherri to tell Meghan to calm down. I actually think Elisabeth did better in this type of View format than Meghan has. I really don't see Meghan coming back for another season, I just really dont.
  7. I've always referred to liberals being more democratic, and conservatives as being republicans. I've seen the ladies on the View as well as other shows often refer to that as well. Sunny has said on the show she is a democrat, so I don't think it's a stretch to call her a liberal. She stands for gay rights, she's for gun control, and she does not believe abortion should be illegal. I wouldn't call her a conservative.
  8. I’m sorry but Whoopi going off on Trump’s speech about wishing Porter well and saying that Porter claims he’s innocent Is so hypocritical!! whoopi you stated on the View to remember Cosby said he was innocent and that until he had due process they are just accusations, until he is found guilty in a court of law. Remember that Whoopi? Remember when you said to Rosie we don’t know the Cosby accusers motives and they could be doing it for money? Come on! She defends her famous friends! Cosby, Palenski, Vick, Gibson, etc. so dont Cast too many stones there Whoopi defending abusers!
  9. Ah, got it. Yeah, I had a hard time following her train of thought. Thanks so much. :)
  10. What was Whoopi's point she was making with the father who tried to attack the pedophile who molested his daughters? I couldn't follow what she was trying to say? Could someone explain.
  11. Well I do believe she should have been fired from CNN. I think they are a reputable news organization, and couldn't continue to employ someone who posted a picture like that. CNN is above that kind of nonsense. I would hope that ANY person celebrity or not, who posts a picture of themselves holding a bloody decapitated head of a sitting president, is looked at by Interpol. Just because you are a celebrity doesn't mean that it is any less threatening, than if anyone else did that. For the safety of any president republican or democrat in the office, if a person shares a picture holding the presidents head like some trophy, then I hope that person is looked at. Could you imagine if a person posted a picture like that, than months later, actually killed the president? People would be outraged, asking why wasn't this person looked at and investigated before? Now I am not saying that Kathy Griffin would do that, BUT when you post that kind of picture you do open yourself up to be investigated for that.
  12. I didn't like what Kathy Griffin did with that picture. I also didn't like that she openly stated, "You know a lot of comics are going to go hard for Donald, but my edge is that I'll go direct for Barron," Yep, saying you are going to go after at the time, I believe a ten year old, people that is bullying. It is never okay for an adult to say that are going to go after a child. And that picture happened what? only 8 months ago. A lot of celebrities have been blackballed for much longer periods of time, than that. And she really isn't blackballed. She was touring all of 2017! Just because you don't like Trump, which believe me I don't, doesn't mean she gets a free pass for her "edge." Sorry!
  13. While I agreed with Yvette for calling out the hateful man that sent her that tweet, I do think it was wrong, to send out a screenshot of his family members. I am a firm believer that a person is not responsible for another family member's actions. I understand she said she did it, cause she wanted them to know they have a hateful person in their family tweeting this, but if you look, a lot of those family members started getting hateful tweets as well then, people lumping them in with the original poster. I didn't agree with lumping the family members in, cause in social media, once you pull someone in, they are going to get hate. As for Stormy claiming she isn't coming on the View because of the opinion of one of the guest co-hosts, I call BS on that one. Kimmel made some serious accusations against her lawyer, implying that maybe her signature was forged on that release, and she played coy, and really egged that on. No way in hell after that, would any advisor or lawyer of hers, allow her on another television show. I mean that is a really serious allegation to make against an attorney, and the fact that she neither confirmed or denied him forging her signature during that interview, was really opening her up for more legal action against her.
  14. Yeah, neither am I. I've always listed myself as an Independent, and voted for both Republicans and Democrats. I'm one, who is really happy that we have at least two parties here in America, cause I don't believe just one has all the answers.
  15. Well first off, I'm confused why she would be on the View anyway. Stormy issued a statement Tuesday, saying she and Trump denied the affair multiple times since it allegedly went down in 2006 ... and nothing's changed. She says, "I am not denying this affair because I was paid 'hush money' as has been reported in overseas owned tabloids. I am denying this affair because it never happened." So her official statement today, is that she had no affair, never happened, and didn't get hush money. So what's the point then of having her on the view?
  16. I was really surprised by the show today, and the bravery of Rose to come forward and talk about her experience. She really called out a lot of hypocrisy in the entertainment industry and named people like Justin Timberlake, for example. A lot of times in interviews they never really name names, but I really believe she is trying to make a change, start a movement, and is pulling no punches with that. I was also very disappointed in learning that lawyers for President Trump, as well as Gore/and the Clintons, were involved in the smear campaigns against her. It's a really sad conversation to see that lawyers for those in power and for the rich, really attack these victims and try to silence their voice.
  17. Things I noticed during this episode. Robyn reassuring her son, that daddy was going to be there in Utah, even though she wasn't going till later. I think it's really telling, that she wasn't like your other mom, Christine, or your brothers and sisters will be there, nope just daddy Kody. These families are so divided, and nobody sees them as one giant family. None of the Sister Wives helped with the making of the flowers. And I only saw Christine at the rehearsal. Did any of them do anything for this wedding, besides dancing to I will survive? Mykelti wants an outside wedding, even though everyone knows it going to be cold. Okay, fine, but couldn't she at least have picked out a shawl or cute shrug for her bridesmaids to wear? I love that Tony gives her a jacket, meanwhile all of her bridesmaids in short sleeves are just freezing over on the side.
  18. What I found very disappointing about today's show and their discussion about the grammy's was not mentioning the hypocrisy of it all. For instance, take Lordes, the ONLY female nominated for album of the year, and the ONLY nominee who was not asked to perform solo for the show, while the other male nominess did. She has been quite vocal about this, and called them out for this. The grammy's response, Well we can't fit everyone on the show, yet the put U2 on it multiple times, who were not even nominated for a grammy. And let's talk about Kesha who did perform to a room full of people who accused her of lying, and still continue to work with her accuser. I could really go on and on about the Grammy show, but anyone can look up the reviews, and see all of the criticism of it. So you want to get political on the show! Read Fire and Fury! Fine, but lets call out the hypocrisy of it all as well!
  19. Okay hold the phone...what? Now I thought the Brown "family" all pooled their incomes together into a community pot, and then shelled out an equal amount to every sister wife. So are they now saying that Meri gets to keep her entire lularoe income, since they kept asking if that could maintain the B&B payment? Wow so when Meri said two weeks ago she wasn't going to take care of the other sister wive's children, I guess she meant financially as well! She's really only about spending "her" money on herself, Mariah, and now her mother, screw the other children!
  20. Loved Meri shading Robyn, about being too careful with her words so she doesn't know if she can really believe her, while Christine is honest and will tell you like it is. So is she implying Robyn is two faced and says one thing to Meri and then something else to Kody?
  21. Monica has written articles for Vanity Fair in which she talked about being unable to find a job after graduating from the London School of Economics. Barbara Walters often spoke about how Monica took the most heat and ridicule from the public, and how she was unable to escape from it. Even David Letterman apologized for being so brutal to her, constantly mocking her.
  22. I'm sorry but come on. So yesterday Joy and everyone was attacking pageants as being sexist and everything, but today when talking about the porn star who had an affair with Trump, it's I'm not judging those people. A woman can do that if she wants, no judgement here, if she is a porn star. So we are now being MORE critical of a woman's choice to be in a beauty pageant then we are about a woman's choice of being a porn star?
  23. I wonder if Janelle's monthly family allowance will go up since she had Pregnant Maddie and her husband move into her home? If I was a sister wife, I would be pissed. I wouldn't want the family collective money to be going to supporting a 30 year old man! I know Meri wouldn't give up any of her money, I'm sure her new B&B will need a wetbar!!
  24. I really liked Ann Curry on the show today. Seeing a journalist interview the guests, really confirmed to me, that interviewing really isn't a strong skill for the panel on the View. I watch more for entertainment purposes, and enjoy watching them in Hot Topics more than their interviews. One thing that does bother me though, is that the View always focuses on the sexual harassment on other networks, NBC or FOX news but I've never seen them address the sexual harassment news that involves ABC/Disney. Did they ever talk about Mario Batali being fired from the Chew? Did they ever talk about ABC actually pulling the entire Great American Baking Show after only showing one episode, due to the sexual harassment complaints against the host, Johnny Luzzini? They talk about Weinstein a lot but what about Disney Pixar's John Lasseter? It bothers me because while they let the Ladies of the View talk about other networks, they never let them talk about ABC or Disney, in a negative way.
  25. I had a different point of view when they spoke about Mo'nique and boycotting netflix. I feel that Mo'nique fell into the same road as Katherine Heigl. Katherine spoke bad about Seth Rogan and the director of Knocked up and had a reputation for being difficult to work with. Mo'nique clashed with the director of Precious and he said she was difficult to work with. That point on both woman had a stigma and have had a lot of difficulty finding work. I don't think you can claim racism when 2 of the people Chris Rock and Dave Chappell are black and we're the two highest paid on netflix. If any thing I think it's sexism, but I also believe not every star or comedian should be payed the same. Why I absolutely agree that women and minorities get paid less in a business/ work setting and that is wrong, I think in the entertainment business there are a lot of different variables that set your fame and salary demands.
