If you're excommunicated, you're out of Communion with the Catholic Church, but this snippet from Wikipedia says it best: "In Roman Catholic canon law, excommunication is a censure and thus a "medicinal penalty" intended to invite the person to change behavior or attitude that incurred the penalty, repent, and return to full communion.[3]Excommunication severs one from communion with the Church; excommunicated Catholics are forbidden from receiving any sacrament and refused a Catholic burial, but are still bound by canonical obligations such as attending Mass or fasting seasonally. Excommunicated Catholics, however, are barred from receiving the Eucharist or from taking an active part in the liturgy (reading, bringing the offerings, etc.).[4] They are still Catholics per se, but are separated from the Church." So, PFMs are making shit up and throwing it. * What Griffin did, even if it's boinking Ava and Lauren, isn't excommunicatable. * Archdiocese, and a Monsignor, can't make the call to excommunicate. * Withholding ALL Sacraments is only in the realm of excommunication, and see above. * Not only is Griffin NOT barred from Mass, he's still required to go to Sunday Mass. * Even if he was excommunicated, there's an active process of reconciliation (penance) to once again be in Communion. It's not a fucking shunning or banishment. In short, Show, be ecclesiastical somewhere else.

Are we sure Griffin got "excommunicated" or just "GH excommunicated". All I understand is that he was barred from the Sacraments, and he can't give spiritual advice, and he can't celebrate Mass (I thought I heard he can't go to Mass...) and.... and.... in any case..... EXCOMMUNICATION DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY! It's definitely more than just dropped a dime accusation, and a little bit more than just one meeting with a Monsignor.... Anywho, leave it to Show to Sonnyprop with no Sonny, with the "funky coffee" comment.

In other news, who was the cute Vulcan lady sitting in the background, behind Lucy, in the Metro Court?

Wait until they find out Gotti was convicted and sent to jail, and he didn't have Diane, Spinelli, or Jason to bail him out.

ALL THE BIRTHDAYS!

Why did JC "have" to vote for Brett and not Sam? Is the unanimous mindset THAT persuasive?

You do have to wonder. Kaycee was a blip on the radar the first half (or three quarters) of the game. But now she's winning comp after comp, making moves. And she's very well liked. Kaycee is winning for Level 6. However, alliances don't win Big Brother; it's Last Houseguest Standing. If Tyler jettisons Kaycee before it's Final Three/Four, it's his game. Otherwise, she's got a shot to upset him.

So, the DA's full name is Cabernet Sauvignon.

Julie Chen: It's Cool If You Call Her Chenbot

Any other mob-centric show that doesn't star MB would have its lead mobster brought down, not by the decades-old body and gun encased in cement, but with the paper trail and payoffs to all the contractors to overbid the renovation job, as well as the payoffs to the municipal code enforcement agencies bullshitting on delays for permits. Pedant, but as effective.

No bet. Show has been efficient gaslighting viewer's that Carly is Avery's birth mother. It will probably be Julian's grand scheme to give Mike Alzheimer's just to get Sonny. And, on another subject, because it it hits home somewhat, I want to slap Show and the PFMs with hard copies of "The Fault in Our Stars" for the way the Oscar storyline is playing out. With boots to the head to Dr. Kim.
-
Oh, God. I never thought Show would mine its history in that direction. Brilliant. It would be more perfect if Marcus dumped Stella for undercover police work. The pieces.... the rantings.... the Sonnypropping... it all fits!
-
I'm calling it: Stella's lost love will be played by Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs.
-
I honestly lost track why Stella kept saying Jordan "killed Thomas". In perfect Sonnyesque Chop Logic, Jordan having the affair caused Thomas to get himself killed. Stella should have had some self-aware epiphany (as opposed to Pip), but she found the crux to her issues.... and still didn't change her "Jordan Killed Thomas" mantra. I'm tired of one other group using this chop logic (Ava Killed Morgan), I'm wishing Stella would move on.

Did he get the bike ride yet? I thought just getting the helmet triggered something, maybe as a PTSD, and that's why Kim freaks out with Oscar on a bike. On any other show, this would be interesting. We caught up with another show with a shady lawyer, a scary hitman, and drug cartels dealing with real drugs and not Gummi Bears and Hair Product. The difference was.... quite striking.

That would be the most idiotic recon ever. So it'll probably be true. I'm still holding onto "Sonny, Carly, and Jason go back in time, thanks to Spinelli, and are the ones who saved Port Charles from Mikkos Cassadine". No. They'll make it so Jason and Drew are Faison's sons and not Alan's. That would make Oscar the grandson and piss all over the Quartermaines. That will happen. Sonny is the True Cassadine Heir. His father isn't Mike; it's Mikkos. Oh, and Sonny has a claim to the Quartermaine empire, somehow.

Ava killed Morgan. That's all Jason cares.

I just noticed Steven Nichols just left DAYS. It would be interesting if it was connected, but I still want my Nicholas back (regenerated as Peter Capaldi, of course).
-
That bothered me too, since Olivia can tell lower Manhattan how teh evul the Jeromes are, just from Port Charles, and how despicable Julian is being in the same time zone as her son. Then, by the end of the episode, I realized Leo was a plot device to drop a truth bomb on Ava.
-
Why do I have the feeling that Dr. Bensch is going to reconstitute a new Legend of Doom, take over Sonny's territory, and order all wimmenfolk within Port Charles to be his concubines?

If the store was to press charges, Diane would have sued the store for having enticing garments to steal, and failure to detect they were stolen, along with violating Joss' rights. And that doesn't include Sonny strongarming the store.
-
Wow, the cops have forensic science more sophisticated than Spinelli, Brick, and Sonnys personal network that puts the WSB Black Ops to shame? HOW EVUL! That's worse than freezing the world.

I fully expect to see photoshopped versions of that sign, appearing here and there.

Hence the phrase, "As useful as a LW Bra."

I'm going to say that, as we were waiting for a single, defining moment for Jimmy to "break bad" to turn into Saul, this episode did it over the course of a hour (minus commercials). Between Howard's obituary and the continuous line of mourners offering sympathy at the funeral service, Jimmy finally went into "fuck this Chuck was a fucking saint shit" mode, resulting in his cold response to Howard concerning the insurance.
