Lawson, or rather UP, is having a free "concert" in Mt. Airy, NC on 12/13. Who is in the area and willing to take one for the team? ?

It's a few hours away from me, but I'll be on vacation. My mother is the Bates fan, but she doesn't like his singing and wouldn't see him for free. I hope the show features that it is Andy Griffith's homeplace and the Mayberry places. I assume they're allowed to watch the Andy Griffith show .

  2. I don't know if this has been posted. Eric Braeden(Victor) has a book coming out next year. I'm writing a book in response titled, "Thank God for Closed Captioning, Mumbles".

"Titled I'll Be Damned, Braeden's book will share the actor's life story in a way never experienced by fans of the German-born actor. From his war-torn childhood afflictions to his journey creating one of the most well-known soap opera characters in the history of the genre, there's certainly a lot of material for the Emmy winner to pull from."

  3. F is for Facebook. Blanche would publish pictures of herself to entice her men. Dorothy would follow news and social causes. Rose would like cute videos. Sophia could look at recipes and argue with people that she's the best cook.

@miamama JT was on The Talk today and apparently spoke about Villy. The reaction on Twitter has been.....amusing. Thought you'd get a kick out of that.

I watched The Talk(I never watch) for As the World Turns and Guiding Light, soaps I absolutely loved. I skipped the B and B segment. I did watch the Y and R one but not as excitedly as ATWT and GL. Melody Thomas tried to convince everyone she and Victor were a love story. Jason Thompson seems nice enough, but I don't like him as Billy. He did say he was honored to be on the show or something like that. Christian LeBlanc talked about Michael and Lauren. Christell Khahlil talked about Kevin giving Lily an STD and a fan actually thought CK had it.  They must be a Philly fan too. lol They did have classic clips of Victor and his mother and Kay and Jill fighting. The hosts were dressed like people from 1986 which I thought was dumb.

  5. On The Talk on CBS, they celebrated 30 years of CBS being number one in daytime. Martha Byrne(Lily), Elizabeth Hubbard(Lucinda), Ellen Dolan(Margo), and Colleen Zenk(Barbara) were there. You may recall CZ had oral cancer, but she said she was cancer free. The segment was too short, but it was good to see them and clips.

I don't know where they're flying to (they also posted a pic of Izzy at the airport playing with a giant chessboard). Could family members already be flying out for what could be JinJer's "destination" wedding? Eeeks! At any rate, this woman looks INSANE.

Take that, Kelly Jo Bates. Nanny nanny boo boo.

Jack threw him across a table and then banged him against the wall/tv or something. He was hollering at Billy to fight back. But then Billy started sneering and making the weird faces Patsy mentions and going off on Jack and smacking his own face like a lunatic.  At one point JT grabs Jack and pulls him back in a real manhandle. The show was too much Billy's pain for my taste. Also Phyllis's pain.

But yes Jack is pissing mad and he confronts Phyllis. So whatever. At least he knows.

    An example of weird face.

Jack looks like a man.  Billy looks like a little boy who can't get his way. I might have to watch this show instead of reading recaps.

OMG...Now I have the Eric Carmen song "Hungry Eyes" playing in my head, and one of my fave scenes from Dirty Dancing is consequently  ruined forever.

I'm a big DD fan(obvious in my name), and now I'm picturing Jeremy and Jinger trying to dirty dance with Jim Bob trying to stop them. Throw in Footloose about banning dancing, and we have a new movie, "Duggar Dancing".

Agreed, but it looks like they're playing Concentration... nu?  Which clearly doesn't involve gambling.  That said, I think some sects think the actual act of moving the cards about is OK as long as you don't play with money.  I used to have a group of friends whose stake was $5, and I remember a relative acting sanctimoniously appalled that nickel, dime, and quarter bets were involved.  Me:   "Really, you think that is any worse than playing with buttons?  We're barely playing with money.  We're certainly not winning enough money to create gambling addicts."  Ms. Holier Than Thou:  "Why, can't you then just play with buttons for counters?" *rolleyes*

This reminds me of when my grandmother and her friend were playing cards in the hospital when my grandfather was sick. Their Free Will Baptist minister came in and the friend sat on her cards thinking it was a sin. lol He was OK with it as long as there's no gambling involved.

11 Shocking Moments from 'The Young and the Restless:

I think this must've been created by someone who isn't really a fan of the show because some of the moments aren't all that shocking, IMO. The Preverts probably could've come up with a much better list.

Pickles and Hairspray on Facebook had a funny caption: Jim Bob: "Boys, break out your manly pink and purple shirts! You're going to the senior center to save our reputation....I mean old souls! Sing til they drop onto their artificial knees and pray for God to make you stop!"
