  1. Good questions. I don’t see how they can maintain the “you need to be in school or have a separate job from DCC” posture if they’re asking the cheerleaders to live in a bubble. Now, It’s smart for covid purposes if the bubble is actually maintained. The NBA seems to be having success with it so far, but basketball is the primary job for those athletes. Dancing is not, or at least not supposed to be, for the cheerleaders.
  2. Yeah, I actually understand the “thick” vs “fat” distinction. I don’t know how Kitty means it, but calling someone fat is basically always an insult. Thick is not necessarily that. Sometimes, it refers to a woman who is in great shape but may just have a different body type than the rail thin look that the DCCs like. Hell, I know when men (at least many of them) talk about a “thick woman,” that often is a compliment.
  3. Any videos of Jalyn? I’m willing to change my opinion on her dancing. I definitely did on Rachel W. I thought she was soft her rookie year, but thought she was great last year. Ashley and Alanna are two others who didn’t wow me at first, but then they started to catch my eye in some of the videos. Then, there is someone like Bridget who always had a special performance quality that drew me in.
  4. Yes. That and the “pretty girls” comments were so condescending. Ugh!
  5. Oh, definitely. Kelli’s “unprofessional” comment was complete and utter BS. She was clearly throwing Jalyn under the bus to prop up VK and make Jalyn look bad. I’m simply saying that *I* have never seen a clip of Jalyn dancing as a DCC where she caught my eye. I do miss the pre-VK days where everything did not revolve around her - both on the show and in discussions. My opinion of each girl as a dancer has nothing to do with her or even my like or dislike of any particular girl. I like Briana and Brennan a lot, but I think both are blenders. I don’t like Rachel W, but I think she’s become a great dancer in DCC style ......
  6. Jalyn should’ve never been removed from show group for VK, but I also don’t see what’s so special about her dancing. I’ve never noticed that she looks bad, but when I think about that group of rookies, I can name 5 or 6 off the top of my head that stand out to me more than her. I just assume that she’s a great dancer, because she was on show group as a rookie, but I’ve personally never seen a clip of her dancing (as DCC), where she has caught my eye.
  7. Watching Season 7 on pluto.....I can't stand that nutritionist! I'm certainly not a trained nutritionist or nutritional therapist, but I cannot imagine that ambushing a girl out of the blue (on camera) in her house and then going through her fridge is the best way to promote healthy eating.
  8. It’s late July. Are they planning on drastically cutting down on the material that tccs learn if they have training camp? Otherwise, if they haven’t started yet, it seems like they are quickly running out of time.
  9. Hannah is another one. I haven’t seen recent pictures of her, but she was tiny a few years ago. I definitely think hers may have been a case of stress eating and yoyo dieting while on the team.
  10. Yeah, I think it just depends on how hot it is in Vegas. I live in Atlanta, which is hot and humid (sometimes miserable, especially in August), but it doesn’t usually get into the 100s. So, 95 degrees in Vegas is probably better than 95 degrees in Atlanta due to the lack of humidity. BUT, last time I was in Vegas, it ranged from 100 to 108 degrees each day. The heat radiated off the sidewalks to an extent that I’ve never felt before. It drained all my energy. I’m not sure I could handle that one a regular basis, and Im someone much prefers heat to cold weather, which I absolutely loathe! New Orleans is one place that rivals Vegas, just in a different way IMO. I’ve been there SO many times (too many times to count) and have family there, but each time, the humidity seems to knock me down lol.
  11. Right. I know he’s rich, but the taxes alone would seem to be reason enough to try and unload the house. I haven’t watched all seasons of MDL:LA though I’ve watched almost all seasons on MDL:NY. How many other homes on either show have been this expensive? I’m drawing a blank though I’m sure there have been some.
  12. So, I’m super late, but I just binged the whole show on Netflix and now I’m a fan. I know a lot of things on the show are unrealistic (as is the case on any narco show - don’t get me started on Power), but Boaz was broken out of a DEA warehouse during season 1, and several DEA agents were killed in the process. Perhaps the feds couldn’t prove that Camilla’s crew was behind the ambush, but they clearly know that Boaz was sprung. Now, he’s traveling in and out of the states, without seeming to take any precautions and is running things in Miami? I don’t think there’s any way any of these people would be walking around freely in the US like they do, but that seems extra far-fetched. Im curious to see what the deal is with James. I thought it was confusing when he went with Devon at the end of season 3. It would’ve made more sense for Devon to just kill him, but obviously the writers werent going to completely close the door on James ever coming back, and I like James and wouldn’t have wanted that either. However, the “this is how we clean up the mess you made in Texas” was very vague. Is he just going to start working for the CIA, is he a prisoner, or is he an informant now, and if so, how helpful can he be? Camilla is out, as is her cartel, and he walked away from Teresa and wasn’t going to be providing info on her, so...... I just don’t quite get it lol.
  13. Yep. It’s crazy. I remember last season on MDL:NY, one seller seemed offended that the buyer was using financing to purchase the townhouse. I wanted to be like, “Welcome to the real world!” Even lots of wealthy people, don’t have millions of dollars to just pay out at a moments notice!
  14. Yes, it means no mortgage, so no appraisal or financing concerns that could derail the closing. I assume that the buyers wire the money into the seller’s account, similarly to how the bank does when they finance a purchase. Of course, I’ve never been to an all cash closing, but I would think that they’re not actually handing over straight cash. That would seem to be dangerous and a robbery waiting to happen lol.
  15. I was glad that James and Josh/Matt both pointed out that the Malibu house was not on the beach and was overpriced due to that fact. That seemed like a glaring omission in the discussions about price during the prior episode. The situation doesn’t seem like it will end well for Tracy at all. Each to his own, but I thought that the Brentwood house that James showed to the pregnant couple was way nicer than what they ended up getting. I’m just not into the super modern look, and I though James was spot on about it not being kid-friendly at all.
  16. Thanks. That’s helpful. I’m an attorney but I’m not familiar with that degree at all lol. It certainly seems like it could potentially help with HR or compliance work though.
  17. The Minchew girls didn’t even have good answers when they were asked about their conflicts. One of them clearly said that she would cross that bridge when she got there, and the other just said that DCC was her priority, which doesn’t mean that much. It was pretty obvious that there was going to be a problem with the pageants being scheduled when they were. If you really want a pageant girl, either come up with a workaround for the schedule or tell her to come back next year. This isn’t to absolve the Minchew girls of responsibility for committing to 2 things simultaneously, but it wouldn’t shock me if they really did hope that they would be able to work it out - at least Kenley, who was a decent dancer. The other sister was never going to make it and didn’t seem to care that much.
  18. I’m curious as to what she plans to do with this degree that she couldn’t do otherwise. Obviously, she doesn’t owe anyone an explanation, and it’s certainly possible that her job or someone recommended it. Also, given the current economic climate, it probably doesn’t hurt to go to school if you can as many companies are on hiring freezes, but I’m curious as to whether people have found success with this type of degree.
  19. Yep. I couldn't roll my eyes enough at the Fredrik/Altman scenes, including Heather acting like Fredrik just ran up and attacked her at the party. Please! The Malibu developer was insufferable. The house was nice, but it didn't seem all that different from the other large mansions on the show. At least Josh and Josh's razor house is truly different and unique (even if it was way too sterile for me). In this house, some of the features that were supposed to noteworthy (cigar room, for example) would be a turn off to me.
  20. Yeah, but Kelli cares 100x more about VK than the other girls. I think the poster’s point was that if another girl didn’t make it and tanked, then that would be a reason to cut them, but Kelli wanted to avoid anything that would affect VK’s performance and thus, supply a reason to cut her. FWIW, I’m not sure the reasoning for VK being on show group is all that deep or multi-faceted. I think part of it is just that Kelli loves VK like a second daughter and wants her to have as many accolades as possible. Since her daughter didn’t try out, VK is probably as close as she can get. On some level, it may even be a “take that Judy!” sort of thing, since Judy’s daughter was given all sorts of leadership positions and prime spots that she had no business getting. Kelli is also the same person who fawned all over Meredith all season, and while I like Meredith, she was terrible at everything. Kelli likes who she likes and gives those girls favors and breaks. It’s nothing new.
  21. He was a quarterback at Oklahoma and then at Texas A&M. I think that is what the posted above was referring to with the “higher profile.”
  22. Right...if anything, I would think that the amount of screen time is related to how poorly someone performed in training camp and/or if they had other issues throughout the years. The show tends to focus more on the struggles, and standouts tend to not get that much screentime. I haven’t watched any of them, but I’m surprised that Kashara’s is shorter than Lacey’s. She (Kashara) was on screen a lot during her third year, whereas I never remember Lacey being featured much at all on the show. She was called out by Kelli has having one of the best solos several seasons, but otherwise, I don’t remember a lot of airtime.
  23. Also, the fatality rate is one thing, and given that the CDC thinks that there may be 10x more cases than what is being caught, we won’t know the real death rate for a long while. However, many people, including young people are having very long recoveries, and it’s unknown how much people’s life expectancy is being affected by this virus. So, certainly, death is the most severe result, but caution is warranted until we have a better idea of what sort of long-term damage is being done to the lungs and heart. I guess I just struggle to see a reason for bringing in new girls to Dallas that doesn’t end and begin with the show. And while I hate to weigh certain jobs against others, I can understand more why there is an urge to have pro sports (not saying that I think it’s smart), as those a billion dollar industries with athletes making millions, who are represented by unions and other agents. The balance of power is very different than that of cheerleaders. The athletes also have plentiful access to testing and (at least in the case of the NBA) are planning on living in a bubble. Those precautions may well prove to be completely insufficient, but I doubt that even 1/10th of the precautions would be taken with cheerleaders, who are, as much as we may enjoy them, a tiny slice of those billion dollars industries. I just don’t see a rationale for picking a new team under the circumstances.
  24. It was dismissed in federal court, but then it went to arbitration and was settled. At least that’s what the articles said at the time. That likely means that there was an arbitration clause in the contract that Cowboys chose to enforce (causing the dismissal from federal court and importantly, a public docket), not that there was no merit to the claims. I also wouldn’t dismiss any suggestion that the lawsuit had a factor in the pay raise. Even if a pay raise was already being discussed, it’s not unrealistic to think that the lawsuit spurred it along.
  25. While I don’t think Dayton should’ve made the team, I thought that Kelli’s somewhat hostile attitude towards her was due to the VK situation. I think she may have thought that by being hard on one legacy whose mom worked for the Cowboys, then that would shield her from criticism about favoring VK, who was also a legacy, and make her look fair. The problem was that VK should’ve been dismissed around the same time as Dayton due to the weight gain and her other struggles. Kelli allowed her to flail around for so long when anyone else would’ve been cut, that it was obvious that the level of favoritism shown towards her was extreme.
