  1. The Sunday Cable Ratings are in: The news was not so good for the season premiere of “Fear the Walking Dead.” The first of two episodes at 9 p.m. tied a series low in adults 18-49 at 1.2, and the second hit new lows in both the 18-49 demographic (1.0) and viewers (2.7 million). 2. There'll be no writers' strike after all: The Writers Guild of America achieved a deal Tuesday morning that addresses many issues vexing its members and seemingly vindicated its high-stakes strategy of negotiating down to the wire in a fashion that stretched the nerves of many in the industry. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/wga-deal-addresses-problems-could-raise-cost-sag-aftra-deal-999819
  3. The Cable Live +7 ratings are in for "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life": The season finale of “The Walking Dead” had the biggest total gains in the week of March 27, as it usually does. 4. The Cable Live +3 ratings are in for "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life": The Season 7 finale of “The Walking Dead” had the show’s best overnight ratings in seven weeks, and its first set of DVR/on-demand ratings are a seven-week high as well. The finale rose from a 5.4 to a 7.6 rating among adults 18-49 with three days of delayed viewing, the best showing for “The Walking Dead” since the Feb. 12 episode had a 7.7 after three days. Its 15.637 million viewers were also the best since then. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/dvr-ratings/walking-dead-finale-predictably-dominates-cable-live-3-ratings-for-march-27-april-2/ Here, then, are the Live + Same Day and Live +3 ratings for Season 7, in full: 10-23-16 “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” 17.029 million; 20.793 million 10-30-16 “The Well” 12.455 million; 16.849 million 11-06-16 “The Cell” 11.721 million; 16.225 million 11-13-16 “Service” 11.402 million; 15.718 million 11-20-16 “Go Getters” 10.996 million; 15.267 million 11-27-16 “Swear” 10.403 million; 14.275 million 12-04-16 “Sing Me a Song” 10.481 million; 14.940 million 12-11-16 “Hearts Still Beating” 10.583 million; 15.198 million 02-12-17 “Rock in the Road” 11.996 million; 15.932 million 02-19-17 “New Best Friends” 11.075 million; 15.243 million 02-26-17 “Hostiles and Calamities” 10.423 million; 14.740 million 03-05-17 “Say Yes” 10.163 million; 13.669 million 03-12-17 “Bury Me Here” 10.676 million; 13.682 million 03-19-17 “The Other Side” 10.318 million; 13.880 million 03-26-17 “Something They Need” 10.543 million; 14.014 million 04-02-17 “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life” 11.314 million; 15.637 million Just for comparison, here are the Live + Same Day and Live +3 ratings for the Season 6 finale: 04-03-16 “Last Day on Earth” 14.193 million; 18.427 million Curious, that.
  5. Eleven pages in, my guess is pretty much everything that could be said, has been said. I watched the finale again yesterday, though, and noticed a couple of details I'd missed the first time... When Jadis shoots Rick, it looked to be the proverbial flesh wound, as though the bullet merely grazed his left side. (Didn't want to damage the goods?) When walker Sasha attacks Negan and they fall off the truck, the Savior who comes to Negan's aid and is killed instead of Negan is the beanie-wearing Savior who took Enid's knife in Episode 714, "The Other Side." Eduardo (aka Man-Bun) was among those from the Hilltop. Okay, I added that third one because using bullets for only two items just looks wrong. Overall, I enjoyed the finale although I would have LOVED it beyond measure if they'd actually offed Negan. Damn, you were this close, Sasha!
  6. The Cable Live +7 ratings are in for "Something They Need": “The Walking Dead,” per usual, was the biggest gain in both adults 18-49 (+2.1, 4.9 to 7.0) and viewers (+4.22 million). 7. I haven't had a chance to even start reading the thread (computer issues), but the Sunday Cable Ratings are in for "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life": The season finale of “The Walking Dead” hit a six-episode high in the ratings — but it also had the lowest ratings for a season ender of the show since Season 2. Sunday’s finale drew a 5.4 rating among adults 18-49 (along with 11.314 million total viewers), the best for the show this season since its Feb. 12 return scored a 5.7. It’s down 22 percent, however, from the 6.9 for the Season 6 finale last year. The last time a “Walking Dead” finale was lower was back in 201, when the Season 2 finale drew a 4.7. For the season as a whole, “The Walking Dead” was down about 17 percent — 5.4 vs. 6.5 in Season 6. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/sunday-cable-ratings-april-2-2017/ And here are the Live + Same Day ratings for Season 7, in full: 10-23-16 “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” 17.029 million 10-30-16 “The Well” 12.455 million 11-06-16 “The Cell” 11.721 million 11-13-16 “Service” 11.402 million 11-20-16 “Go Getters” 10.996 million 11-27-16 “Swear” 10.403 million 12-04-16 “Sing Me a Song” 10.481 million 12-11-16 “Hearts Still Beating” 10.583 million 02-12-17 “Rock in the Road” 11.996 million 02-19-17 “New Best Friends” 11.075 million 02-26-17 “Hostiles and Calamities” 10.423 million 03-05-17 “Say Yes” 10.163 million 03-12-17 “Bury Me Here” 10.676 million 03-19-17 “The Other Side” 10.318 million 03-26-17 “Something They Need” 10.543 million 04-02-17 “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life” 11.314 million Of course, most shows would KILL for these numbers, but perhaps not gratuitously or with a baseball bat...
  8. The Cable Live +3 ratings are in for "Something They Need": A few more people watched the March 26 episode of “The Walking Dead” the night it aired than did the previous week. Not quite as many people caught up with the show within three days of its airing. The result, however, is still a small gain for the show. “The Walking Dead” sits at a 6.6 rating after three days of DVR and on-demand viewing, up from 6.5 the previous week. Its total viewer count is also up (14.014 million vs. 13.88 million). It grew by 1.7 points in the 18-49 demo and 3.46 million viewers vs. 1.8 and 3.55 million the previous week. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/dvr-ratings/walking-dead-rises-despite-slower-growth-cable-live-3-ratings-for-march-20-26/ And here are the Cable Live + Same Day & Live +3 ratings for Season 7 so far: 10-23-16 “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” 17.029 million; 20.793 million 10-30-16 “The Well” 12.455 million; 16.849 million 11-06-16 “The Cell” 11.721 million; 16.225 million 11-13-16 “Service” 11.402 million; 15.718 million 11-20-16 “Go Getters” 10.996 million; 15.267 million 11-27-16 “Swear” 10.403 million; 14.275 million 12-04-16 “Sing Me a Song” 10.481 million; 14.940 million 12-11-16 “Hearts Still Beating” 10.583 million; 15.198 million 02-12-17 “Rock in the Road” 11.996 million; 15.932 million 02-19-17 “New Best Friends” 11.075 million; 15.243 million 02-26-17 “Hostiles and Calamities” 10.423 million; 14.740 million 03-05-17 “Say Yes” 10.163 million; 13.669 million 03-12-17 “Bury Me Here” 10.676 million; 13.682 million 03-19-17 “The Other Side” 10.318 million; 13.880 million 03-26-17 “Something They Need” 10.543 million; 14.014 million
  9. I strongly suspect Kirkman has something to do with that...
  10. Here are the Cable Live +7 ratings for "The Other Side": The March 19 episode of “The Walking Dead” tied a five-year low among adults 18-49 the night it aired. After a week of delayed viewing, though, the episode ended up beating the previous one in both the 18-49 demographic and total viewers. The AMC show gained 2.3 points in adults 18-49, growing from 4.7 to 7.0 in the Live +7 ratings. That’s 0.1 better than the previous week. It also added 4.45 million viewers to finish at 14.776 million; both of those numbers are larger than the March 12 episode. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/dvr-ratings/cable-live-7-ratings-for-march-13-19-2017/ And here are the Live + Same Day, Live +3, and Live +7 ratings for Season 7 so far: 10-23-16 “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” 17.029 million; 20.793 million; 21.528 million 10-30-16 “The Well” 12.455 million; 16.849 million; 17.947 million 11-06-16 “The Cell” 11.721 million; 16.225 million; 17.208 million 11-13-16 “Service” 11.402 million; 15.718 million; not reported 11-20-16 “Go Getters” 10.996 million; 15.267 million; 16.308 million 11-27-16 “Swear” 10.403 million; 14.275 million; 15.096 million 12-04-16 “Sing Me a Song” 10.481 million; 14.940 million; 15.776 million 12-11-16 “Hearts Still Beating” 10.583 million; 15.198 million; 16.020 million 02-12-17 “Rock in the Road” 11.996 million; 15.932 million; 16.837 million 02-19-17 “New Best Friends” 11.075 million; 15.243 million; 16.171 million 02-26-17 “Hostiles and Calamities” 10.423 million; 14.740 million; 15.756 million 03-05-17 “Say Yes” 10.163 million; 13.669 million; not reported 03-12-17 “Bury Me Here” 10.676 million; 13.682 million; 14.430 million 03-19-17 “The Other Side” 10.318 million; 13.880 million; 14.776 million
  11. The Sunday Cable ratings are in for "Something They Need": At the top of the chart, “The Walking Dead” improved on the previous week with a 4.9 among adults 18-49 and 10.543 million viewers, up from 4.7 and 10.32 million the previous week. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/sunday-cable-ratings-march-26-2017/ As always, here are the Cable Live + Same Day ratings for 15/16ths of Season 7: 10-23-16 “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” 17.029 million 10-30-16 “The Well” 12.455 million 11-06-16 “The Cell” 11.721 million 11-13-16 “Service” 11.402 million 11-20-16 “Go Getters” 10.996 million 11-27-16 “Swear” 10.403 million 12-04-16 “Sing Me a Song” 10.481 million 12-11-16 “Hearts Still Beating” 10.583 million 02-12-17 “Rock in the Road” 11.996 million 02-19-17 “New Best Friends” 11.075 million 02-26-17 “Hostiles and Calamities” 10.423 million 03-05-17 “Say Yes” 10.163 million 03-12-17 “Bury Me Here” 10.676 million 03-19-17 “The Other Side” 10.318 million 03-26-17 “Something They Need” 10.543 million With any luck, I'll catch up with the thread in a day or two...
  12. The Cable Live +3 ratings are in for "The Other Side": A second-round NCAA Tournament game on TNT ranks second in both adults 18-49 and total viewers in the Live +3 cable ratings for the week of March 13. But in terms of how far behind the No. 1 show, “The Walking Dead,” it’s like a 1 vs. 16 matchup — no contest. The March 19 episode of the AMC show is at 6.5 among adults 18-49 and 13.880 million viewers with three days of DVR playback. Those aren’t great numbers by “Walking Dead” standards, but as usual, they stand way, way above everything else on cable for the week. Its 18-49 rating is more than three times the 2.1 for the NCAA game, and its viewer total is more than twice as high as the hoops telecast. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/dvr-ratings/cable-live-3-ratings-for-march-13-19-2017/ And here are the Live + Same Day and Live +3 ratings for Season 7 so far: 10-23-16 “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” 17.029 million; 20.793 million 10-30-16 “The Well” 12.455 million; 16.849 million 11-06-16 “The Cell” 11.721 million; 16.225 million 11-13-16 “Service” 11.402 million; 15.718 million 11-20-16 “Go Getters” 10.996 million; 15.267 million 11-27-16 “Swear” 10.403 million; 14.275 million 12-04-16 “Sing Me a Song” 10.481 million; 14.940 million 12-11-16 “Hearts Still Beating” 10.583 million; 15.198 million 02-12-17 “Rock in the Road” 11.996 million; 15.932 million 02-19-17 “New Best Friends” 11.075 million; 15.243 million 02-26-17 “Hostiles and Calamities” 10.423 million; 14.740 million 03-05-17 “Say Yes” 10.163 million; 13.669 million 03-12-17 “Bury Me Here” 10.676 million; 13.682 million 03-19-17 “The Other Side” 10.318 million; 13.880 million
  13. Okay, I finally had a chance to watch this episode again and froze the TV screen when it got to the hollowed-out book. There are four rifle rounds -- two of which look slightly smaller than the two Sasha takes -- and six bullets of assorted calibers, plus two keys. Also, when Sasha is packing stuff in her backpack to leave, she does not take the book. Not that it matters; by going in after Negan, she's clearly abandoned her sniper plans.
  14. I'd watch that on a continuous loop till the cows came home. And laugh myself sick.
  15. The Cable Live +7 ratings are in for "Bury Me Here": As usual, “The Walking Dead” was the biggest total gainer, although it wasn’t quite as big as usual. Its 18-49 rating grew by 2.0 points (4.9 to 6.9) — previous episodes since its February return have all grown by at least 2.1 — and 3.74 million viewers. [14.430 million viewers] http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/dvr-ratings/cable-live-7-ratings-for-march-6-12-2017/ Here are the Live + Same Day, Live +3, and Live +7 ratings for Season 7 so far: 10-23-16 “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” 17.029 million; 20.793 million; 21.528 million 10-30-16 “The Well” 12.455 million; 16.849 million; 17.947 million 11-06-16 “The Cell” 11.721 million; 16.225 million; 17.208 million 11-13-16 “Service” 11.402 million; 15.718 million; not reported 11-20-16 “Go Getters” 10.996 million; 15.267 million; 16.308 million 11-27-16 “Swear” 10.403 million; 14.275 million; 15.096 million 12-04-16 “Sing Me a Song” 10.481 million; 14.940 million; 15.776 million 12-11-16 “Hearts Still Beating” 10.583 million; 15.198 million; 16.020 million 02-12-17 “Rock in the Road” 11.996 million; 15.932 million; 16.837 million 02-19-17 “New Best Friends” 11.075 million; 15.243 million; 16.171 million 02-26-17 “Hostiles and Calamities” 10.423 million; 14.740 million; 15.756 million 03-05-17 “Say Yes” 10.163 million; 13.669 million; not reported 03-12-17 “Bury Me Here” 10.676 million; 13.682 million; 14.430 million
  16. I could be wrong -- I haven't had time to rewatch this episode -- but my impression was the "bullets" Sasha took from Jesus's hollowed out book were the only rifle rounds that were appropriate for that nifty sniper's rifle Rosita gave her. I'm pretty sure there were at least four rifle rounds in the book, plus a handful of bullets of assorted calibers. I can't recall if she actually took all of the ammo, but Jesus said she could have them, so it's at least possible.
  17. I came across this today -- in the Masked Scheduler's Ratings Smackdown -- and thought it might be of interest in regards to the potential return of Heath: Do I think "24" will return next year and with the current cast? Probably not. Also Corey Hawkins is a movie star and will be off fighting King Kong and assorted Japanese Kaiju for the next few years. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/tv-ratings-monday-march-20-2017/

  20. Looks like Kirkman is still as full of it as ever: * Creator Robert Kirkman marveled at how vividly Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been able to bring the show’s big bad Negan to life: “[Negan] is this horrible person… but he has this spark to him that’s really engaging and really entertaining. And Jeffrey portrayed that so well… there’s a warmth to him even when he’s performing these horrible things. I don’t know how he pulls it off.” http://tvline.com/2017/03/17/the-walking-dead-season-7-spoilers-finale-paleyfest-rick-negan/ In your dreams, Kirkman. Only in your fevered, adolescent dreams.

  22. I'm late catching up with the comments -- Mondays really should be illegal (and Tuesdays aren't much better) -- so my brain is tired and all I can offer are a few very random thoughts: Morgan knows about Eugene, because Rosita mentioned him in "Rock in the Road": "Abraham. Glenn. Spencer, Olivia. Eugene was taken. They took Daryl. He escaped. Every second he’s out here, he’s a target." Benjamin's little brother's name is Henry. You can't copyright book titles. Seems to me that an earlier version of PreviouslyTV had a function that allowed you to collect & quote multiple comments. And it was quick & easy. I know there's still an icon for MultiQuotes, but I can't get it to work. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...any suggestions? Hints? Incantations? Blood sacrifices?

    S07.E12: Say Yes

And here is the junkyard dialogue from this episode: Jadis: Operational? All? Rick: To the best of my knowledge, yeah. May need some cleaning. We found supplies. Tamiel: Expect us? Rick: We cleaned some. We oiled some. You can do the rest. We do this together. Jadis: Yes, yes, but operational? Rick: Well, you can fire a few. Try them out, if you like. Brion: How many? Michonne: Sixty-three. Tara: We made an inventory. Jadis: No. Tara: (confused) You mean the inventory? Jadis: Not enough. Rosita: What? Wha – What are you talking about? Rick: You asked for a lot of guns. That’s what this is. Jadis: Enough to fight your fight. Us? Nearly twice. Need nearly twice. Rosita: (sharply) We’ve wasted enough time. Let’s go. Take our guns with us. Jadis: No. Our guns to take. Our deal still on. Rick: Not all of them. We’re keeping ten for ourselves – to find more. Jadis: Five. Rick: Ten. Jadis: Six. Rick: Ten. Jadis: Nine. And the cat back. Rick: Twenty. And I keep the cat. We get you the guns. We fight together. Say yes. Jadis: (pauses) Yes. More soon, we’ll fight. (Rick moves to the side and watches as the junkyard people come up to the van and select weapons. Jadis looks on silently.) Michonne: (To Rick) You get a few more days before “what happens next.” Rick: Few more days? Michonne: That’s right. We’ll find more, figure it out. Soon. In a few more days.
